    This is the most annoying comment section I've ever read!! A bunch of jealous men that have to bash the movie because they can't get a woman off to save their lives! Guess what? NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO GO SEE THE MOVIE! And it's fiction geesh! Who cares if Christian is damaged and there's sex and bla bla! It's fiction. And for all of you commenting on the targeted audience of this film, there isn't one! I know plenty of 20 something women who get laid, have a life, are dope and damn sexy that plan on seeing it. So stop with that "lonely middle aged housewife" crap.

      Everything you said here can be said to porn, except porn "objectifies" women while this film doesn't "objectify" men?
      The point is: "men" aren't bashing on this movies because they're jealous but because this is acceptable while porn isn't.

      You sound like one of those girls who think if someone doesn't like her, it's because they're jealous. Get over yourself. And just because someone doesn't agree with you, doesn't make them sex deprived. On that note, get a reality check too while you're at it.

      I think men don't like this movie because some women bash on them for watching porn. I'm perfectly fine if and when men watch porn. Women watch porn, they just aren't as verbal about It. If this is considered porn, at least it's making money out of it...

    it's sicking that people think this is abusive rape , first of all everything is consensual nothing is forced , he did not rape her , or ever force her into something she was terrified of , he may have introduced her to new things but in the end she loves it and does it again AND IF PEOPLE REALISED THIS IS A LOVE STORY !!!! Not porn not rape not an abusive anything !!! And as well with people saying ana isn't nice looking, do you hear yourself ??? The character isn't meant to be a blonde with big tits and ass and sexually attractive but funny thing is if she did look like Kim Kardashian it would probably be okay ?? Right because being attractive is key in fitting into society people never think of the people with are shy and kind there considered nerds insecure ugly think about what you say before you go off judging people / things / books you know nothing about

    • @3007lesleyh
      @3007lesleyh 9 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      You're so right. It's written all over in the books that Ana is just like the girl next door, who hasn't got the looks of a supermodel, who feels insecure about herself, who has hair that never falls the way she wants it to fall...it would be very weird and unbelievable to see Ana being played by a georgeous looking girl. And I'm sorry, but I find Dakota a beautiful girl. She has a natural look and she's a perfect Ana. And you're also right about the rest. I'm currently reading the 2nd book for the 4th time and I've just read a part about where they are playing pool and he whips her on the ass with a ruler while they are playing. After a few times she says STOP and he drops the ruler immediately. If he really wanted to abuse her, he would just continue. She even thinks to herself: "why can't I take a little more pain for my man?" So it's she who wants it. He wants to do nothing without her approval. Why won't people understand that??

      1) This isn't BDSM. What little one Grey does is nothing short of rape - he terrorizes Anna into obeying his every whim.
      2) Yeah you get losers like this in BDSM. They're nothing more than rapists in real life too. BDSM communities have a serious problem with pieces of dog shit like this. 1 in every 3 submissives admit to getting their safety word ignored and essentially raped... that's a fucking big number.
      3) If you as a man or woman think this is a normal relationship - please, please, please get yourself sterilized. Because if you're willing to do this to your partner or let your partner do this to you what the fuck are you going to allow happen to your children. Probably sell them for entertainment value.

    I am SO sick and tired of people saying its an abusive relationship, and the book is a porn book. You cant judge this book from what you've heard about it, and you cant judge the movie from thiss trailer. Even if you read the first book you still dont have all the knowledge to make a clear judgement. Before you put this book down, read ALL THREE BOOKS, then we can at least accept peoples criticism.

And that is just one example of the countless bullshit this book claims about people like me. It completely misrepresents us, and the problem is that many people will believe this is true. We have trouble enough with prejudices about this, this book and movie will make it a lot worse

    If you read the book, I think the cast has been suited perfectly. It's what I've always imagined Christian and Anastasia to be. Yes, maybe they might not be exactly how to pictured them to perceive, but just seeing the preview of this book into a movie and know exactly what part is happening, its such a thriller. My heart was pounding so hard watching this because in the book it describes so much detail they were feeling at that very moment which the movie doesn't describe for you. All in all, what I'm trying to say is I'm INCREDIBLY EXCITED FOR THIS MOVIE YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW. I've read the entire trilogy and can I say, E.L. James took my breath away word after word. Applauds for you and the director of this film.

These people who say FSOG endorses an abusive relationship or that it's "rapey" already sound delusional and batshit, so try not to make them look rational by sounding worse. Thanks. :)

      Except when the BDSM community itself comes out and says that 50 Shades is actually about an abusive relationship that inaccurately depicts dom/sub relationships no one really sounds "delusional and batshit" for agreeing...

    • @JLongbone
      @JLongbone 9 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Daria Kochevaia Well since the book was not based on any real life BDSM relationships, I don't know how anyone could take that claim seriously. While reading the books it was clear that the main character, Christian, is not a dominant, only someone who uses the title to feel in control and powerful considering the fact he went most of his life not feeling that way. And also, he was "introduced" to his sexual activities by his abuser. So it was never meant to be a factual, real, BDSM relationship. I wish people would actually read the book instead of listening to people who obviously have chips on their shoulders about fictional books.

    • @ItstheLightBrite

      Yep. And like every movie franchise there are opportunists trying to get attention from it. When Harry Potter first hit (the books) Evangelicals and weirdos screamed about how children reading about witchcraft would send them to hell.

    • @cassidyleonards2411
      @cassidyleonards2411 9 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      JLongbone Actually, Daria is right. I read all three books and based on my very shallow knowledge of the BDSM community and after talking to a few people who are in it, the book plays into stereotypes about it. Namely that anyone involved in the lifestyle must have experienced some trauma or that it's a phase that can be fixed once you meet the right person.
      Also, why portray something in a fictional work if you are not going to portray it with some degree of accuracy? As a writer, that would be a display of some very lazy work and only putting it in for the sake of sensationalism. Granted, it was never a serious work to begin with but still, if you are going to represent a community - especially one as widely misunderstood as the BDSM community - it would help to do some research. It doesn't have to be 100% accurate but flagrant disregard is, as I said, just lazy :/.

    People are complaining how this is a bad representation of BDSM, howevver you are forgetting that regardless how BDSM is represented in this book, this was the first erotica to even become mainstream and widely popular to introduce this topic to the public. It wasn't the first to touch base on BDSM, but it was the first to gain A LOT of attention. It also opened up women's sexuality. So yes, that is sort of a big deal. It's still a taboo to many. If it wasn't for this book, the topic of BDSM wouldn't even be talked about and it would've stayed in the dark.

    1. Not a fan of the casting. Anastasia/Christian had banter, there was frustration and anger and this just seems incredibly low energy for what the relationship should be.
    2. I read all of the books and wasn't a fan of the writing and yet found the trilogy entertaining enough. For the people who dislike the franchise because they thought the writing was lacking, I'm with you, but for calling it porn and endorsing an abusive relationship, well, lol, I find that people only get out of sorts about anything relating to sex when it deals with women and their pleasure or when it's a book/movie what have you catered to women and their fantasies. Also, if you READ the book, it is so far from an abusive relationship, it's insane, in fact most of the sex scenes are actually pretty tame and it's more about establishing emotional connections through physical intimacy with your partner. So people need to calm the hell down.

    • @upindust
      @upindust 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      well it is rated as erotica which is a type of porn.. but you know what my favorite author (Meg Cabot) broke into the publishing business as an author by writing romance.. it's the easiest genre to break into out of them all (author even says so).

      Well, in regards to the first part of your comment, to be fair, this is just a trailer; not the full movie. Give it a chance to hit theaters, then decide whether the two main characters had chemistry or not, or if the cast is wrong. I personally feel the casting was spot on. Ana was not supposed to be some great beauty as many have stated when Dakota was chosen; just "girl next door" pretty. And Dakota Johnson is that. Just pretty. Not the bombshell beauties like Scarlett Johansson. Or the striking beauty, like Alexis Bledel; which is who a lot of people wanted, but they didn't realize that she didn't exactly fit the description right. The only ones I wasn't completely sold on were Eloise Mumford and Rita Ora for Kate and Mia. But I'm going to hold my judgment until I see it. I agree with the second part of your comment, except some people are kind of *kind of* right about the abusive parts. Just a little. In part because he tells her on occasion, he wants to hurt her, but he doesn't say that he wants to give her pleasure from that pain. At least I don't remember him saying anything like that. (It's been awhile since I've read the books, so I might be wrong lol) But all in all, I did like the story; even if it could have been written better and E.L. studied her BDSM a little better lol.

      I'm right there with ya' Fandomix!!!!! And GOOD FOR YOU for not caring what everybody else thinks!! Of course the book had lots of sex in it........ Everybody knows that. But the STORY was absolutely spellbinding to me. I've NEVER been a reader in my whole life....... I've tried and tried but never could get enraptured enough by any book to WANT to read........ until I decided that I wanted to discover what all the "hype" was over this Trilogy. W-O-W ........ that's all I can say. I was totally hooked........ I would take this book with me everywhere I went on the off chance I got 5 free minutes to read the next few pages. I truly couldn't put it down. And for those who are always saying that it's nothing but porn, that's just so untrue. After I read the whole Trilogy in it's entirety, I started over reading them again. I've now read the whole story 7 times and I can tell you that after the first time (when I obviously had to read every detail carefully to fully understand the story) I skip through all of the racy stuff because it's the STORY that captivates me. And that's the truth....... The LOVE story draws women. Of course the other stuff makes it very interesting but women are drawn to love stories and even some men.

      YEAH ITS SO GOOD and its quite romantic actually! Yes, there's sex, yes there's vulgar things in there,BUT DAMN IT WAS GOOD, I however, couldn't take it anywhere because people at work ALWAYS judged me, specially my boss. but it was interesting. and the story is really fasinating. tbh, it totally understands what a woman goes through. with the exception of grey's room but the rest of it.... the story, how she feels about him, the person he wants her to be, and how she just gets tierd of it and gives up. like I've experienced that, when my bf expects me to be someone i'm not and its just fustrating. it was so good and i could read it a few times, without all the racy bits as you said because that's too much for me. hahah

    По-моему мнению фильм снят хорошо, смотрится на одном дыхании, было пару сцен, которые я перематывала назад и смотрела по несколько раз)))отдельное спасибо актерам, мне кажется сыграли очень хорошо, особенно Джейми Дорнан, ему респект, фильм оставил очень хорошие впечатления, и возникает желание просмотреть его еще раз, все таки интересная игра актеров, в интернете мельком прочла, что Дорнан отказывается сниматься в следующей части, плохо если он все-таки примет такое решение, без него как-то и не захочется, я думаю многим, остальные части, он сыграл свою роль на 10 баллов!!!!!!Будем надеяться что снова увидел его в этой трилогии.

    Before I read the book, I totally misjudged it. Saying it was pretty much porn. And shaming all the people who read it. But, I gave it a chance and after reading the book. I'm literally so obsessed and could only hope the movie is just as amazing as the book. BEFORE you judge saying people are ridiculous for even reading this, that we're all messed up in the head. Read it, give this book chance. I believe if you want to see the movie, you should read the book. Yes, there is a lot of sex in this. Crazy demanding sex, but there's also a very good love story within it. It's not your typically Romeo and Juliet love story, but you can't even compare Christian and Ana to them. It's amazing in it's twisted ways. I love it.

  • @HL-ei8cd
    @HL-ei8cd 9 ปีที่แล้ว +46

    People seriously need to stop the hate! This is NOT a porno! It's a love story with some hardcore sex, what is the problem in that? If people actually read all 3 books they will discover it's a really deep love story, this is absolutely nothing like twilight what so ever, it's not for young girls or boys, this is a mature story for adults! I honestly cannot get my head around the fact that people think it's porn, and bringing feminism into it just because Christian grey is controlling is ridiculous... This kind of sex is what most women fantasise about and men do not like it! For once the attention isn't on men sexualising on women.... It's the other way around! And men don't like it! Well get the fuck over it! It's our turn to see our fantasies become a reality on the big screen and I cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!

      Actually, you're wrong m'dear. The men who feel insecure about this movie, or the books, are those who feel that the bar has been raised. You'd think that most men would be happy that more and more women are demonstrating their desire to be submissive, and to be "taken" by a man; but no. Pay attention to the man in this story, he is clearly an Alpha Male: dominant, successful, intelligent, good looking, energetic and controlling. Most men don't even come close to this specimen of masculinity; just as most women are not the smoking hot fantasy that men desire. So in that respect you're right.
      This movie makes men feel that they not only have to be the knight in shining armor, but also, the king of his realm. It makes men feel that women are only interested in the Alpha Male. This puts pressure on them to "man up" and step up their game in order to be that Idyllic figure. Of course, the more intelligent men will figure out the practical dynamics that attract women based on feedback from this book, and people's reaction to it. I am already a dominant personality, so to me this is just like a stroll through a familiar street. But sometimes I try to help guys who feel like they are drowning in these unfamiliar waters. I also help women when they feel like they are being shamed into staying away from their true desires.

      I agree with Heidi Latham. I read the three books also and I do see it as a love story. This new trailer is much better than the first. I have read many, many books about love and romance, but these books are unique. Jamie Dornan is perfect as Christian Grey, he looks just like the character that Erica James describes. If anyone wants to see him, google Jamie Dornan & Eva Mendes Calvin Klein ads. Wow, he is really, really HOT in those ads. I think that he is going to surprise a lot of people after they see this movie. Anyway, I think people should give this movie a chance before judging.

    Just finished watching Fifty Shades of Grey and I gotta say... the film was beautiful. Yes, I am using the word beautiful to describe this movie. I went into the theater completely prepared to be embarrassed because of how graphic it was supposed to be, but I was extremely surprised by how I actually felt. I watched all of the scenes that were made available and thought that it all seemed a bit awkward, but it was only because there was no background music or noise. Watching the actual scenes in the movie was a whole other experience.
    The movie is getting a really bad rep because of the bad writing and graphic scenes that are in the book that it is based on. However, the movie is not just a "sex movie" like everyone says. It's pretty hilarious and romantic. The sex scenes were extremely dialed down and they all served a purpose. If you thought the pointless sex in The Wolf of Wall Street was acceptable, then you would be more than okay with the content in this Fifty Shades. Before I watched Fifty Shades of Grey, I watched a lot of interviews with the cast of the film and was confused as to how they could possibly describe the sex scenes as being classy and elegant. But then again, all I had to compare it to were scenes from Game of Thrones, True Blood, The Wolf of Wall Street, etc... After watching this film, I can honestly say that I completely agree with the cast. There was nothing "dirty" or "wrong" about what I was seeing on the screen. Sam Taylor-Johnson, the director, did an excellent job with this movie. She made it very tasteful and easier to accept. This film could have gone in a very bad direction, but thank god it didn't.
    For those of you that think that this movie is glorifying abusive relationships, think again because I think that it actually empowers women. I'm sure that you can argue, with quotes from the book, that I'm wrong, but there are many differences between the film and the book. Let me remind all of you that the book is a little over 500 pages and the movie is only about 2 hours long. Obviously, they had to cut a lot of things out, including the blue string scene that I'm sure a lot of people are aware of. In my opinion, they cut out many of the scenes that were considered controversial. I watched the movie looking for signs of an abusive relationship, but I really didn’t see anything of that nature. In fact, all I saw was this confident and empowered woman that made all of her own decisions. She was not forced to do anything that she didn’t want to do. She wanted to explore Christian’s dark world and her own sexuality. You can argue that Christian abuses her physically and emotionally, but he does what she tells him to do. When she says stop… he stops. When she says that she wants more… he tries to give her more.
    Moving on to something lighter, the comedy in this movie is on point! There were many “laugh-out-loud” moments that gave the movie a lighter mood. Those scenes were there to show that Christian and Ana’s relationship was not all dark and serious. I mean they are both young people in their twenties that should be having fun!
    Dakota Johnson gave a phenomenal performance and did everything right! She was confident, awkward, shy, and funny all at the same time. Jamie Dornan also did an amazing job as Christian Grey. They had great chemistry.
    I guess what I’m trying to say is that you should give the movie a chance. If you hate the book, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you will hate the movie. I have read many reviews, written by skeptics, saying that they ended up loving it. Don’t let the bad reviews or even the book itself stop you from seeing the movie. I was not disappointed at all with the finished product, even though they cut out a few scenes that I loved. It is perfect just the way it is.
    (I apologize for any grammatical mistakes... Unlike Ms. Steele, I am not an English major)

      Including myself. I have never watched films with this content since Payton Place ….. now that’s dating me……! I loved the story from beginning to end……. Won’t deny that watching Jamie and Dakota together was awesome……..!
      I seriously think that the critics who were so harsh about the trilogy from book to film were completely wrong! I like reading the critique from viewers like me who watched the film more than once!
      Paid critics are often wrong about books and movies! People should realize they have to justify their pay check!

Its about a completely broken man, broken in any way a person could be, finding someone to love and trust. The sex is all about how he is broken and chooses to show it. It's not an easy task to appease the masses because we all have our own ideas of beauty. But the most important person to please is EL James and she's more then pleased with the casting of Christian and Anastasia. I get it after seeing the trailer. I think that both Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson will fade into the characters seamlessly. I personally don't know how they're going to convey the same heat from the books onto the screen. I mean it's sex galore. A lot of the popularity of the book is due to our own imaginations of who these characters are, so very, very tough task to satisfy everyone's perceptions of who these characters are. I wish them luck!

    Loved this book and cannot wait for the movie, I think the casting was right because Jaime Dornan is exactly who I would picture as Christian Grey and Anastasia is supposed to be like a plain Jane, just average looking girl and Dakota fits that. Plus it's refreshing to see that the casters didn't make Anastasia into the typical head to toe gorgeous model bc that would've destroyed the idea of the book: gorgeous, young billionaire falling for a regular girl different from his world.

    this book is about an abusive relationship. stop glorifying abusive relationships and giving a bad name to the bdsm community. not every one who is in bdsm have issues. this book is beyond problematic if someone makes you sign a contract into a relationship then its not a relationship you shuold never get coerced into sex of have any kind of sex that is without your consent. its rapey and weird and you are getting of to what many would describe as an abusive relationship.

      How dare you. This story, is exactly that. A story. Nobody is stupid enough to "glorify" an abusive relationship are you serious. If somebody interprets this book/movie in that way, it is entirely their own fault. I myself have dealt with the sickening peril that is an abusive relationship so don't act like you know anything about what that is or what it means to glorify that. Don't use abusive relationships as an excuse for you to shame people for enjoying this book/movie because I myself have dealt with that first hand and still take an interest in this.

    "A sadist is one who enjoys inflicting pain on OTHERS" (from urban dictionary) .. the fact that the poor girl is consusual in receiving pain doesn't change the fact that Mr Grey is a sadist... so in conclusion many women are in love with the idea of having a sadist boyfriend... please i am not judging anybody, i am just making a point... i would NEVER hurt my girlfriend : whip her or put needles on her even if she begged me to ...

    I'm a feminist and I've read all three books. I don't find this rape-promoting or antifeminist. It is simply a love story about a messed-up man who is saved from all his insecurities after falling in love. I'll admit, some things made me cringe, but that's what makes a good book a good book. This trilogy doesn't show how strong the man is, but how powerful a woman can be. :)

    These books really misrepresent the BDSM community, I feel. I understand the author was trying to mix 'love story' and BDSM, however I really don't like that the protagonist is some innocent awkward girl that he takes advantage of. Most dom/sub couples are aware of the BDSM world and the way things work. In these books it's like he just chose some random girl that came into his office and seduced her with his money and power. Just because someone is a sub doesn't mean they are naive/shy/innocent. I feel like it's a really weak female lead and it could have been written a lot better.

    • @litia
      @litia 9 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      The author chose a random girl as protagonist so female readers can identify with her, which is why they cast an unknown actress in the role.

    • @gacktequalslove
      @gacktequalslove 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I assume Anastasia has to act clueless. She never had sex, let alone do that so she's bound to be naive about it. Everyone who practices BDSM had to be introduced to it one way or another.

    • @kysfallen1795
      @kysfallen1795 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      FSOG was originally a Twilight fanfiction in an alternate universe. Anastasia is Bella, hence why she's a weak character.
      (brb getting a barricade to protect myself from the TW fans)

    • @rinabeans
      @rinabeans 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, if you really take time to read the books you will understand that all of this was consensual by her. He didn't manipulate her. Its what she wanted And the whole reason the girl is innocent and weak is because its feeding to the common girl. There are a lot more common girls and the sold to that audience. That's why. And if someone who actually read all three books and knows Christians history and still wants to follow his rules of BDSM then they have a problem themselves because if you ended up reading the last two books you'd realize that your comments really don't have much ground. (I'm not being rude in anyway just letting you know in case you didn't read the last two books)

    I didn't like the books. I thought the writing was amateurish. But that makes sense; E.L. James isn't really an author, she's a former television exec and a fanfic writer that hit it big. I'm not hating on her for that, good for her, but, it is what it is and what it is isn't exactly high-quality literature. Then again, reading 50 Shades of Grey for literary quality is like eating at Taco Bell for nutritional value. I can't hate on people for liking those books; hell, I'm a pro wrestling fan.
    That being said, even though I disliked the books, I can't wait for this movie. I can't wait to see just how ballsy they get with it. I'm not afraid in the least to admit that these two trailers have been done spectacularly well. The movie appears to be shot with finesse and an artistic eye, and the little bits that we've seen from the screenplay, believe it or not, come off LESS stilted and amateurish than the book does.
    I'm in. I'm down for this. This is either going to suck, or it's going to be the shock of the year. Bring it on.

    I'm SO tired of people saying stupid things about this trilogy. Ok, let's make some things clear:
    1- It's not a porn. If you read the book and understand the message you will see that.
    2- Why is an abusive relationship? I really don't get it. If BOTH of them like this type of thing, what's the problem? What a couple do between four walls is THEIR problem.
    3- Christian NEVER did anything with Ana without her consent. Let's remember this.
    4- Yes, the book have sex, explicit sex, so what? It's not like anyone here doesn't know what sex is or doesn't does that.
    If you are saying bad things about this book before reading it you should shut up. Go read first or just don't come here to talk bullshit. Like this trilogy don't make you dumb or petty. Actually, judging people who do make YOU an arrogant person.

    Quick question for the girls. Do girls fanatsize about sudden kissing in an elevator? Like, would a girl be ok with that. Or would I get slapped or rejected. I kind of want to do this to a girl I like on a date or something. Now I need to find an elevator for it.
