I am here today in memory of my husband, who died on this day ten years ago. He loved Blind Guardian and the Bard song. The first time I listened to this song was at his funeral.

This is so fcking beautiful and reminiscent of the modesty that live in them I love how the meaning of the song appears when performed live : when Hansi stops to sing and the public starts singing on its own for some long seconds, you know that their bard’s song will remain and their stories will be remembered even after them. My first exposure to blind guardian was this song. One of my favorites ever. Disturbed's cover of "the sound of silence" comes very close to this style.
One of the few bands which ever made me proud to be born where they were born, been in so many cellars hearing so many metal bands and than this shining group nearby here in germany.
