This brought an actual tear to my eye. I´ve read somewhere, that when you set foot on the festival ground for the first time and you be very quiet you can still hear them chant...wow, the chills are real! Have yet to make this experience. One day Wacken, I´ll be there!
People: metalheads are evil. Metalheads: I've been to many really amazing concerts and festivals. This is one of the best. It was my first time listening on top of it. And just to mention, I was in the last row, and I felt that energy. So I guess all I have to say is THANK YOU!
At the beginning he said that they're glad playing at wacken and he'd like to let the audience keep on screaming, but they're running out of time. Further he said that the majority will know which song is coming up and that this song was time and again legendary at wacken and he got the feeling that today will cap it all of. After the bard song he said that this time was more awesome as usual and they had a awesome time at the stage, that they're always liked playing at wacken, but now is the time to move on and then lets get crazy for a last time and so on... And last but not least in the middle of valhalla he started with saying: "looks awesome, sounds awesome..I think marcus worked hard enough and we're ready to bring frederik into the game, therefore you should get a little bit louder. At 11:19 he screams "Impressive", at 11:23 "gimme all" and at 11:55 "Sing us down from the stage".. That's pretty much it, greetz

I'm impressed! And of course, The Bard's Song is also great and I love Hansi's voice, but the audience really surprised me. Magical.

I've been living more than 15 years in Germany and hearing this song in concert in Stuttgart is one of the highlights: Hansi barely sang couple of sentences, the public singing all (me along). A feeling that cannot be described with words. So fucking intense!
I'm English but love Germany, worked there with my dad and fell in love with place, I can not wait to go back there and have some beers and listen to some awesome music 🤘
If you are not a heavy metal fan, you don't fucking get it. It's life-changing. this was THE moment of the festival, fuck!! the bards song live It is an experience that moves me to tears.
Same for me. I agree 100%! The only thing that may have trumped Bards Song was the crowd singing Valhalla all the way back to the campsites.
need to see this live before I die.
People were singing the bard song at the campsite days before the show even started :D. Blind Guardian at Wacken is always a fucking insane experience.
If I had people singing along to my lyrics like that I would not be able to hold it together, I’d be a bawling mess
Same here. We are always amazed as well.
When the crowd starts singing your own songs, thats when you know you have achieved legendary level of metal.
Einzigartig.
Die Leberwurst nicht vergessen!
best of 2016....

Just discovered Blind Guardian and I’ve listened to this live version of Bard’s Song and Valhalla like six times in a row. 😅
That is a common effect. I listened to bard's song for 21 days exclusively.
Me in the discord with the Boys 😎
High in the sky Where eagles fly
Morgray the dark Enters the throne
Open wide the gate, friend
The king will come
Blow the horn and praise
The highest Lord
Who'll bring the dawn
He's the new god
In the palace of steel
Persuade the fate of everyone
The chaos can begin
Let it in
(Lead: André)
So many centuries
So many Gods
We were the prisoners of our own fantasty
But now we are marching Against these Gods
I'm the wizard, I will change it all
(Lead: André/Marcus)

Magic is in me
I'm the lost magic man
Never found what I was looking for
Now I found it but it's lost
The fortress burns
Broken my heart
I leave this world
All Gods are gone
So many centuries
So many Gods
We were the prisoners of our own fantasty
But then we had nothing Who'll lead our life
No, no, we can't live Without Gods
I get massive chills when the audience starts to sing, fucking love it \m/
AdrianTheFire Gaming It was just amazing, I will never forget this moment (I was there)
same
Same bro
Same!
need to see this then /watch?v=Zklqr1xj32Q that is how all staarted
He said it best
An amazing sight
Das wird wohl kaum jemand bezweifeln
goose bump when hearing almost entire audience sing along ....
This brought an actual tear to my eye. I´ve read somewhere, that when you set foot on the festival ground for the first time and you be very quiet you can still hear them chant...wow, the chills are real! Have yet to make this experience. One day Wacken, I´ll be there!

People: metalheads are evil.
Metalheads:
I've been to many really amazing concerts and festivals. This is one of the best.
It was my first time listening on top of it.
And just to mention, I was in the last row, and I felt that energy.
So I guess all I have to say is
THANK YOU!
I grew out of my Power Metal phase but there's one band I keep coming back to : Blind Guardian. All their albums from the 90s are incredible!
Yeah, forget just power metal, Nightfall In Middle Earth is one of the best metal albums ever made
And it's still not on Spotify :(
Magnus Söderberg it is.
'from the 90s' is redundant in the sentence
he said his "POWER metal phase". Implying he's moved on to other kinds of metal.. reading comprehension not your strong suite eh?
this is what music is about, bringing people together
I fucking love Hansi even when I can't understand what he is saying!
That's pretty much it,
greetz
awesome
hi
He's my mom's cousin so I know him irl. He's a very nice person. Unfortunately, his mother, my great-aunt, is in the hospital because of cancer. We are all worried sick about her 😢
Niklas Universe - Sorry to hear that. I hope that she is better by now (after a month) and will get heatlhy again. Cancer is such an awful disease, claiming many good people. I wish your family a best of luck.
An anthem!
These "old men" are in business for more than a quarter of a century!!!
I am teaching this to my grandchilds.
Thank you!!!
May the force be with you!
a very underestimated and excellent band
This makes Wacken different from any other metal festival... actually different from any other festival in the world. It's magical..
Mahn, I have never heard a crowd sing so beautifully in all my life!!!
You know you have an amazing crowd when they all sing along with you.
If there would be a time machine, this one performance would be one I would go back to. This happens only once in a lifetime. Truly historic.
i got the chills so many times during this, fucking love this band and the fans
Then watch out for when the play Wacken next time - we'd love to have you with us!
Will we ever get to see the Savatage/TSO concert in its entirety on DVD i wanna see Morphine Child and Edge of Thorns
Matt J Hendrix you i like you
Thanks for being part of my life, Blind Guardian
the pure hapiness on their faces as the crowd sing their songs... priceless
Best audience singing I've ever heard. I'm impressed! And of course, The Bard's Song is also great and I love Hansi's voice, but the audience really surprised me. Magical.
when you're down to your last string on the guitar and thankfully the bards song is requested xD
I was there, it was more than epic and i won´t forget this moment in my whole life.
This proves that Blind Guardian are one of the best metal groups ever!
Look at that crowd... Metal is stronger than ever. Beautiful.
It’s like he's deliberately singing The Bard Song softly so he can listen to the crowd sing along.
I've been living more than 15 years in Germany and hearing this song in concert in Stuttgart is one of the highlights: Hansi barely sang couple of sentences, the public singing all (me along). A feeling that cannot be described with words. So fucking intense!
Goosebumps. I have no clue how pop music can connect with anyone like this does...shit i shouldnt be comparing either.
What a performance, and i like the fact the singer take time for say thanks you, in multiple language also! :)
That was in fact really cool. I was not expecting the Portuguese "Obrigado" in the end. This was a fantastic concert....Wacken is simple amazing!!
3:42 The moment you realize your song is known by everyone in that crowd. That would be such a cool feeling.
Imagine that great satisfaction.
I don't even understand a single word in German but I'm super hyped when he speaks to the crowd
This performance of Bards song is the best live music I've ever heard, thanks to the crowd participation.
Truly awesome.
is the bohemian rhapsody of the power metal, no doubt
I'm English but love Germany, worked there with my dad and fell in love with place, I can not wait to go back there and have some beers and listen to some awesome music 🤘
Must be fucking mindblowing to have 70,000 sing your song to you
If you are not a heavy metal fan, you don't fucking get it. It's life-changing. Once a metal fan, always a metal fan. 103 years old and your great-grandson saying "My band is going to cover Blind Guardian in the school talent show!". Upon hearing that you get up from the wheelchair and you are ready to go!
The bard's song - Letter
Now you all know the bards and their songs
When hours have gone by, I'll close my eyes
In a world far away we may meet again
But now hear my song about the dawn of the night
Let's sing the bard's song
Tomorrow will take us away far from home
No one will ever know our names
But the bards' songs will remain
Tomorrow will take it away the fear of today
It will be gone due to our magic songs
There's only one song left in my mind
Tales of a brave man who lived far from here
Now the bard songs are over and it's time to leave
No one should ask you for the name of the one
Who tells the story
Tomorrow will take us away far from home
No one will ever know our names
But the bards' songs will remain
Tomorrow all will be known and you're not alone
So don't be afraid in the dark and cold
'Cause the bards' songs will remain they all will remain
In my thoughts and in my dreams
They're always in my mind
These songs of hobbit, dwarves and men and elves
Come close your eyes you can see them too
Maybe the greatest song of all times!!! Hail Guardian!!!
every time i watch this video, it's getting better and better
This song is so beatiful it could make a man cry a little!❤
80,000 plus metal heads singing the bards song! Can’t get any better than this!!!
Idk why it gets me, but people showing so much love and singing along makes for the best moments
Now you all know
The bards and their songs
When hours have gone by
I'll close my eyes
In a world far away
We may meet again
But now hear my song
About the dawn of the night
Let's sing the bards' song
Tomorrow will take us away
Far from home
No one will ever know our names

Tomorrow will take it away
The fear of today
It will be gone
Due to our magic songs
There's only one song
Left in my mind
Tales of a brave man
Who lived far from here
Now the bard songs are over
And it's time to leave
No one should ask you for the name
Of the one
Who tells the story
Tomorrow will take us away
Far from home
No one will ever know our names

Tomorrow all will be known

3:30 goosebumps ... ( and the girl in the middle of the crowd is just perfectly in tune with the song )
Jesus his voice is crystal clear. Studio quality.
I had the honor of being in one of those metal crowds and sing bards song, something you can never forget.
it must be so epic to stand there and listen to the crowd singing your song....
Year after year the sound quality of the band just doesn't get any worse. Drums, guitars and vocals keep getting better and better. Above all they are very professional.
If you ever been to a Blind Guardian concert in Germany or Europe you know this is the song where the crowd sings. Every time a great experience.
It's not just a crowd, it is a community.
Tag yourself: I'm the guy crowdsurfing during The Bard's Song
At what minute or second?
@@ricardoalfonso8097 at about the 3:14 mark.
So I probably had to carry your wight :D
nice, that's like a dream for me. It must be the best feeling ever
No no tag yourself as in who you would be during the situation. Wasn't actually me but yes that's the dream
Just shows how Metal will always be remembered. Epecially the good songs.
He pretty much sounded exactly the same!!!🤘🤘🤘
it's rare to find such a cultured crowd. All applauses go to them
When I was 14, my mum came with my to a Guardian concert in Belgrade for company, because we had free tickets but my friends weren't into metal. Most songs went over her head, but the Bard's Song stack.
This song allways gives me goosebumbs.
