Thanks, the fan being loud and that you loose data if plugged onto another PC was a no go for me. The point of a storage is being able to connect to any PC and still have your data a accessible.
I do not know what issues people have with fans … its not ‘loud’ … nice white background noise … did not bother me. Never had a device where a fan sound bothered me.
@@knowledge4741 The version you got without raid can you use multiple Pc and laptops with it. I only want this case because it looks so sexy but didn't like the fact might lose data. Seems a bit extreme that if my PC broke down they would be no way getting back my data
Thank you very much for the wonderful video. I just want to use it to add HD to function as an external HD. Without Raid, can I remove the HDs from this module and use them on another PC?
Yes, you can. In fact you can even get the RAID case and not enable RAID, and then you won't lose data if switching PCs. it will work just like a normal hard drive.
great video! your focus on RGB dissuaded me from purchasing this, as did the window on the side. i am a firm believer that these decorative things bloat the price, i will look for other storage solutions made by the same manufacturer.
I'm using the hardware RAID 5bay model with 3 IronWolf drives rated at 210MB/s. For single drives it does this speed however in RAID 0 it seems to have the same speed. Since I've not reached my 625 MB/s USB 3.0 limit. I'm curious why it's not going faster.
if i have hdd's with data already on them & i put them in this & its set to normal mode will i loose any data or will the hdd;s show up as normal in device manager?
What does ‘normal’ mean? If it would screw the data the whole enclosure would be useless as it is supposed to be a single solution for harddisks. I got all my external hard disks out of their original plastic enclosures like WD Book, Buffalo, Seagate … and got them in there. Brilliant … no attached 5 externals with power cables and separate usb link ups … just this enclosure with the naked harddisks. Of course all data were useable. When you switch it on the harddisks pop up like any other internal or external. Disadvantage … it runs 24/7. You must switch it iff manually.
Thanks for your professional review.

@Hitexh Watch the video again, he talks about it.
I got the version without the RAID so loosing data wasn't an issue for me.

@@GanymedeXDExactly, they are not noisy as old generator.😅

This is one of the most beautiful enclosures i ever saw. Somewhat reminds me of mini powermac g5 case :D. Love it
Hehe epic!
It is nice … unfortunately the plastic window looks not so nice any more with time … despite mine inly stood next to desk.
@@GanymedeXD oh thats not good to hear. does the one you have come with raid
Can this enclosure support drives 20, 22, and 24tb like those from Western Digital?
Thanks for this review!

10:11 a Storage Pool can be easily moved from one PC to another 🤨

Does not blow the price … same price than the non RGB versions. Mine was actually 50£ lower in price than the non-RGB versions.

Putting it in normal mode. I'm only gettin 210MB/s for 1 drive and 81MB/s per drive for 3 drives. So I'm guessing the interface limit is at 240MB/s

No you won't . that's exactly what I did
