shameless types I have never had a bike that slow and I've had over 10 bikes. I've had 4 cars that were faster. I've also raced one on my ZX14 and it was a joke.
What are you trying to say? I have owned many VWs in the old days. I also have owned many a car that was faster then a VW bug. I have owned many bicycles. I have also owned many a motorcycle that was faster than a bicycle. I have ran on foot down the street faster than a weiner dog. What'the point? No matter what motorcycle you own, there is one faster. So your point was.....?
Slingshot is incredible. I was one of the first ones to get them in 2015. I have driven motorcycles all my life. Most recently a full dress Harley. I sold it to purchase the Slingshot. As one ages one learns you can not or should not handle a bike any more. Not even talking about the people on cell phones who don't see bikes. I was fortunate and never had a serious accident on a bike. The Slingshot is like a rocket. I can spin the rear tire in the first three gears and hit 80 mph before I red line and shift to the next two gears (which I never need). I can fly around corners at speeds that no motorcycle can match. Very stable. I have now owned the Slingshot for 2 years. Great toy. As recalls are fixed, the Slingshot gets better. With after market parts and all the vendors this thing can go turbo. But why, out of the box this thing screams. If you see me around, flag me down, I'll give you a ride and you can decide. BTW, I will be the one with the ear to ear smile on my face.
This is the kind of review you get from a guy who's never driven it before, and went into it already hating it. I love my slingshot, it's plenty fast, has great breaks, and you can't buy more attention for less money. If you wanna take it to the track you won't impress anyone, but it's not made for that, it's a cruising machine that's quick and fun, not a race car........and next time try to be even the slightest bit fair with your review, you should be embarrassed about this video, really bad and extremely biased review
I think he hates it because its an aggressive good looking vehicle to go sideways and cruise around on that is EXACTLY what these ferrarris and lambos etc are. I expected the rich car world of guys to hate this bc it has looks, fun, cheap. Its like when the first mustang came out.
I drove my neighbors and it was the BEST fun I've had in a motorcycle/car/thingy, vehicle or whatever you want to call it. It was a blast and the attention you get is off the chain with women, and even guys. I'd definitely buy one for that alone, and to me they just look cool af. The negative aspects that people mention in the comments are retarded to me. You buy this for a fun time getting around, not racing dynamics. Duh! Damn.
Honestly you probably stand similar chances of dying if you crashed either this or the Harley. At least dying on a motorcycle sounds cooler than dying in a plastic three wheeler with a 4 cylinder engine made by Polaris.
unr3al Gaming I agree plus at least with a Motorcycle you can use its size to get ahead thru traffic but with this thing you will just cook in the summer sitting traffic. Fuck that.
I've made it through two summers in my Slingshot. Oh, by the way, there is now a hard top for the Slingshot that works like a Gull Wing. I normally would never consider an add on top for something like the Slingshot, but since Polaris makes, it, the top has probably been tested for reliabilty and safety.
Rob the Slingshot's target demographic is those of us over 40, who'd like to own a motorcycle but don't like 2 wheels anymore. I'd much rather have a T-Rexx, but the Slingshot is a third of the cost. And of course it's under powered, it's a GM Eco-tech 4 cylinder.
Dick Johnson I've been riding motorcycles for the past 15 years (I'm 29 years old) and I'm getting one of these Slingshots in a month. And I'm trading the bike in. 2014 Yamaha FJR 1300. I've earned the right to buy this after riding motorcycles for over half my life.
Take it from someone with experience. I have owned a Slingshot for two years, have taken many a ride with two wheelers, and also been welcomed into the fold. So Night Rider and Mike b, you have it all wrong.,
I usually don't comment on stuff, but I actually disagree with nearly everything this guy is saying unfortunately. I enjoy driving mine around all the time (weather permitting). It picks up speed faster than most cars in its price range. So people saying "my bikes faster than that" like obviously because it's heavier than a bike.. The breaks are pretty good because I've had to stop pretty quickly before and it does fine. The radio is pretty good (Its open top, you can't compare sound quality to a car obviously..) Many more things he got wrong but too much to type out. Personally I think it's great and so does nearly everyone in my family and my friends. And it's price is slightly more than a bike but less than a lot of new cars, but in my state it's considered a car so I don't need a motorcycle license or a helmet, so I have no complaints with that either.
"Hurrr durrr just get an Ariel Atom hurr durrr" Yeah, but an Atom is Porsche 911 money. Please at least compare apples to apples and not diamond encrusted gold plated apples.
A friend of mine has one and it's a hoot. It's Polaris's answer to the Can Am Spyder, albeit one where you can actually sit side by side. IIRC, Polaris worked with states to insure that a motorcycle license was not required to drive one, but still slots in registration as one to get around all the car safety requirements. It's a fun toy, and at @25k, is not out of line with the big touring Harleys and Honda Goldwing, and the Can Am.
Liter bikes are stil bad for fuel economy and the added weight of 400cc and thicker frame doesn't make up for the added performance. 600cc with a few mods is just as fast and fun as a liter bike.
Mark M around tight technical tracks I'd agree... As far as fuel economy, I've knocked down 45 mpg with my CBR 1000RR. My 600RR on the same trip got 52 mpg. In a straight line the 600s aren't even close to liter bikes with or without mods!
gadgetguy99 put your hayabusa on a racetrack against a 600 and your ass will get decimated. Stupid ass original post to begin with, the type of people who buy this vehicle are not the type of people to ride a supersport motorcycle
I have recently purchased one of these. All I can say is how rich and spoiled do you have to be to criticize this thing as this guy did. When you look at demographics on people who will be buying one of these, this guy's disconnect is appalling. How hard is it to have fun on one of these? Again, its pretty easy to have fun on one of these. If you can't, it's your own fault. I'll spend half as much and have just as much fun.
It's definitely more of a car rather than a bike. It's got a steering wheel like a car, a stick shift like a car, pedals like a car, seat belts like a car, seats like a car. Nothing about this is a bike. More of a convertible car with one less wheel
I have one, base model, and I like it a lot. Got it new, last years model close out for 16k. For me it’s like an old Triumph or MG, little convertible with no frills. I’m in Naples, FL so it’s a year round toy. My wife and I are at the age where 2-up on a bike wasn’t as fun as it used to be and this was a good solution for about the same money. Not making excuses, he makes some valid points. I will say this though... the windscreen makes a profound difference. I don’t think it would be wise to buy one without spending time in one first to have realistic expectations. I happen to fall into the niche it caters to and am very pleased.
Exactly why I don't own one! I have cars and I have motorcycles with 2 wheels and I can keep my balance. haha No 'in between' vehicle like the Polaris for me. Take care man
superspeedersRob my boss has one and he says its fast but then again he sent his to get turboed and says it dynod close to 400 whp.... what do you think rob more power would make it better?
A friend of mine has one. He just ordered a supercharger for it. Can't wait to see if that helps the so/so performance. And yes even stock it does wicked donuts.
the other thing to mention, with three wheels its centre of gravity is very small. do a sharp turn too fast whilst driving, fronts wheels compensate; do a sharp turn too fast whist reversing, cars going to roll
I agree, drove one a few weeks ago. Got on it fairly hard once I hit the first highway I could, went to go stop where I would normally turn around and had to almost pass it because the brakes just would not stop the car even though I had the pedal to the floor..
The Polaris Slingshot drive like a 4 wheeler a hard to engage manual transmition a poor powerstering a poor interior and its souds terrible. And here in Canada you need a helmet to drive it. Thankfully you dont need a motorcycle driving lissence here in Canada. (I spoke french so it is possible that I made spelling mistake)
YEEEEES!! I'm so glad you made a video bashing this thing...I absolutely hate them because of the fact that everyone who buys one is for attention. The slingshot isn't good at handling, and they aren't fast. People just buy them for the attention they get from people who don't know what they are and think that it is some expensive sports car when realistically they are like 20k.
Seen one today at a traffic light leaving work. It was a chrome redish orange with flakes in it, looks like it could be fun but I don't think i'd ever own one.
'I think the only reason they list it as a motorcycle is to avoid crash testing it ...and that concerns me!!' wow Rob that is such a true statement!!! i was wondering why it wasnt a "car" on spec sheets. anything with more than 2 wheelsis NOT a bike, its a toy. (at best)
Rob, forget the Polaris and do a video on the Morgan 3-wheeler. In every video review I've ever seen, the driver literally giggles or laughs as they're driving it because it's so much fun. And, no motorcycle karma is involved.
There was a guy I saw at a few autocrosses driving that thing. It was sad how slow and how unstable that thing was. Needless to say, he didn't bring it out much after that.
I know a few states are talking about classifying these as just cars or their own category. I think they will still somehow skirt the crash standards, though.
hey Rob, i live in Ontario, Canada. A law was just passed for the slingshot that you do not have to have a motorcycle license. you used to have to have a M license and a helmet. But i guess polaris settled with the government lol because having to have a motorcycle license was hurting the sales of the slingshot. Also the slingshot has a 2.4 GM Ecotec lmao
I was able to test drive one. He's right about the brakes. They're not high performance brakes and soft. The swing arm looks weak as well. If you ride a motorcycle everyday, which I do when I can, you also notice the torque is really lagging. It doesn't really pull you into your seat hard like you think it would. Not a motorcycle. This is a Sunday driver for an older couple still wanting to ride in the open. Not a sports machine for a single guy if that's what you're looking for.
Ferretti logic: The brakes on this thing are horrible. Let's get on the highway.
Just leave more room to stop.
What do you think of the Elio? Do you think its a scam or do you think it'll get made?
Sean Harlow SAME thoughts here.
superspeederRob and a service lane if needed
Lol, like the time the muffler falls off the corvette on the high way, floors it.
I am a Slingshot owner. I love mine. My wife loves it. You get to have your opinion.
"She doesn't know any better" hahaha I love Rob
a lady waved at him under the assumption it's a cool car, which Rob thinks is a terrible car thing
You summed that up very well 9/10
Back to school gmansplit. Cheers.
Wesley Green Haha yes, you're exactly spot on.
Sound like you were paid to dog the shit out of Polaris. Love the gazoo Porsche exhaust sound that picks up transgender in the slums. Ha!
Nice, liked the humour with the girl, topped off a fun video and liked that you didn't add her to your thumb nail as click bait.
popuptoaster Yeah. Anyone else the title would be "HOT GIRL WON'T GET IN MY SLINGSHOT (GONE SEXUAL)" and a picture of her ass as the thumbnail.
She was hot as hell too
This is pure locker room talk.
hahaha we're gonna defeat Isis
Ken bone doing gymkhana in this would be awesome.
hes moving on that slingshot like a bitch
If you own a Slingshot they'll let you do anything. You can kiss them, grab them by the crotch, even win elections. It's good to be a Slingshot owner.
it has the worst qualities of a motorcycle and a car...slow, miserable, hard to park
0-60 in 5.2, 1/4 mile in 13.7 is not out of this world quick
shameless types I have never had a bike that slow and I've had over 10 bikes. I've had 4 cars that were faster.
I've also raced one on my ZX14 and it was a joke.
It's 0-60 is about 5.2 seconds, which is slow for a bike.
Slow, miserable, and hard to park? I thought you were talking about my wife!

It looks like you're driving a grand piano
4:35 "She doesn't know any better!" - Funniest Rob quote in a while
No helmet and no license = living on the edge
Most GSXR riders anyway lol
Rob don giv a fuk
At least it isn't a stolen bike, and it is registered and insured.
superspeedersRob i don't think its insured if the driver has no license

It's an ugly ass looking vehicle that wants attention I've driven them and they handle like shit
I bet he would complain about debris and wind in his face riding a motorcycle too......
@@shrekinc.1719 Most "ugly" cars people dont want to ride in or take pics of....
It's the automotive equivalent of walking around with an arrow through your head. It's not fun but it looks crazy and everyone stares at you.
Be honest. U want one

there's something so funny about rob reviewing a car he hates
was the scene with that chick scripted or just the perfect coincidence? killer homeless people you got there.
Of course it was just the perfect coincidence. The clip with her and the Porsche at the end proves it.
He should have had a sign that said "Not for you".
srivardhan karnic are u dumb or sarcastic
Probably his wife
For the guy whose wife wont let him get a Harley for his midlife crisis.
Honestly you probably stand similar chances of dying if you crashed either this or the Harley. At least dying on a motorcycle sounds cooler than dying in a plastic three wheeler with a 4 cylinder engine made by Polaris.

Quickest way to piss off bikers is to even remotely consider this a motorcycle!! LOL
Take it from someone with experience. I have owned a Slingshot for two years, have taken many a ride with two wheelers, and also been welcomed into the fold. So Night Rider and Mike b, you have it all wrong.,
John Hand I bet youll be waiting on santa Clause to come down your chimney too LOL!
You are right. 17 more days till Santa comes.
John Hand it's considered a motorcycle due to safety reasons . To be classified as a car it would need bumpers airbags etc
*Night
but i see Harley trikes all the time (even at Sturgis). are they outcasts?
thank god its just his opinion. i love mine and my t-rex
it has a seatbelt, how is it considered a bike?
Tyler Schwartz That BMW bike with a roof had seatbelts!!!
Tyler Schwartz its not considered a bike, you only need a motorcycle license for a vehicle if your straddling it
It is a bike. Less than 4 wheels is legally considered a bike.
Autocycle. Laws changed.
Also has a very solid roll bar, two actually behind each rider.
I'm not going to lie, I was disappointed that you didn't throw her out of the Porsche.
I won't lie, I'd be surprise if he threw her out.

atom is a cool car, but way over priced
Would be more cool if they had two wheels on the rear.
You can get a four wheel conversion.
Or an ariel atom or some other exocar.
now its a miata
wow didn't know about the conversion, looks much better with four wheels and probably performs better as well.
+Computer seriously?
A friend of mine has one and it's a hoot. It's Polaris's answer to the Can Am Spyder, albeit one where you can actually sit side by side. How hard is it to have fun on one of these?
My wife and I have had an absolute BLAST on ours. She loves it and so do I. Best money we've ever spent period. So glad Polaris came out with these.
Perhaps if I was a spoiled douch-bag who test drives an $70,000-$80,000 T-Rexs I would be able to compare but thats not me nor thousands who will be in the market for one of these.
Again, its pretty easy to have fun on one of these. If you can't, it's your own fault.
I'll spend half as much and have just as much fun.
Here in Sweden it´s a three-wheeled bike, but can be driven on both a motorcycle- and/or car-driverslicense. Costs around 35000 USD.
Buy one so I can rent it! I want to see if I can get my ass kicked by every single person that sees me.
These are the best car reviews on youtube. really honest and raw
It's definitely more of a car rather than a bike. It's got a steering wheel like a car, a stick shift like a car, pedals like a car, seat belts like a car, seats like a car. Nothing about this is a bike. More of a convertible car with one less wheel
Woops there's a big hole and I forgot the tires in the middle and I slammed right into it.!!! Lol
Ian, get in.
Do I have to?
Yep.
My thoughts exactly.
Rob getting Cinematic hiring a $20 hooker for 2 scenes.
Not a hooker. Way to be a dick.
Sorry man didn't mean to offend was just joking around. Love your videos!!
I like the added extras in the videos, it's good shit man.
Hey Rob I think it is safe to say you don't like the Polaris
+Ozzstar it just doesnt make any sense. How do you justify the purchase?
"It's fun when you buy it" Hmm, if only you had some way to rent it out.
Yeah, way better cars to spend the $$$ on.
It the equivalent of a Plymouth Prowler
"Yeah the brakes are atrocious....lets hit the highway"
lol
That hitchhiker skit was funny af.
The brakes being "bad" is an issue with the Delphi ABS module not being bleed properly at the factory.
4:32 You ducked at a pothole.... LOL
+That Car Guy and possible rocks from a dump truck
good save lol
Its what he said in the vid.
nice touch with the hitchhiker
So this is a cheap American copy of the Morgan 3 wheeler?
never go full Pony would seem so
never go full Pony Canadian
You know.. Canada is part of North America? And that North America and South America are America when you take them as one?
No, it's a copy of the campagna T-rex
never go full pony.
This is an over grown snow mobile on wheels.
These may not be very fun, but Polaris offroad products are incredibly fun. There's a reason we've had 5 of their Side x Sides
Pretty entertaining video for a change. I liked the fondue maker analogy
Thanks for sticking through all my boring videos.
informative can't be boring for me, but some goofing around is always welcome! thanks for sharing
Rob, who is the lady you picked up at the end of this clip? Very creative. She is gorgeous.
I agree, drove one a few weeks ago. Got on it fairly hard once I hit the first highway I could, went to go stop where I would normally turn around and had to almost pass it because the brakes just would not stop the car even though I had the pedal to the floor..
sup everybody rob spaghetti here and today im driving the swegaris swegshot
It's not a motorcycle. It's a go kart and it's pretty slick
I'm not sure if someone else mentioned it or not but there's a TSB/recall on those brakes. They have a specific bleeding process to fix it.
Ending would have been funnier if as she pulled on the door, the Porsche drives off without her. Ha.
I thought Rob was smooth with the ladies
It's considered a autocycle and most states now don't require a motorcycle endorsement and doesn't require a helmet in most states if you over 18.
Keep up the good work Rob .
The Polaris Slingshot drive like a 4 wheeler a hard to engage manual transmition a poor powerstering a poor interior and its souds terrible. And here in Canada you need a helmet to drive it. superspeedersRob is an excellent, professional and very insightful communicator. That's fucking unusual on TH-cam.
Its funny because Rob actually kind of looks like Peewee Herman
That blonde though.. I may need to get an internship with you Rob haha.
R8, 458, 430, or 911-Turbo.
Which car would be the best for value, maintenance, and resale out of the 4 choices.
yeah, you must try my '97 Daewoo Tico 5 speed manual, I'm curious how much fun will you have with it
It can go from factory 174hp with the 2.4 Litre engine to 300hp with the Turbo or Supercharger kit of ALPHA for less than 5000$
When u getting a viper acr 😜😜😝
had one, search my channel.
Rob Ferretti will do. probably seen it but forgot haha
Lol what a loser. Wasted his time impersonating Rob.. HAHAHAHA that's the saddest thing I've seen in a while LMFAO
oh well its not like its my life goal for him to respond to me or something lol
Isnt that Rob's second channel?
Lol this video is comparable to the stupid truck one. Good job Rob!! 👍
You get the sense Rob likes the "stupid" in the auto industry.
The thrill of watching this is long gone.....
Must have an open diff with those one wheel peels
Seen one today at a traffic light leaving work. It was a chrome redish orange with flakes in it, looks like it could be fun but I don't think i'd ever own one.
I respect your criticism, people now and days are to scared to ruin their image and your not.
Thanks for the M3! I am so happy I won!!!!!

What are your thoughts on a DB9?
Is it a car that i should set my sights on?
There was a guy I saw at a few autocrosses driving that thing. It was sad how slow and how unstable that thing was. Needless to say, he didn't bring it out much after that.
I love Rob's cynicism. Doug needs more of it, like in his recent Ghibli review.
My feelings on the slingshot exactly. You hit the nail on the head.
you need more in car videos. I miss all of the craziness
I know a few states are talking about classifying these as just cars or their own category. I think they will still somehow skirt the crash standards, though.
Joke's on the blonde lady, Shivam's got leprosy, remember? Colony of one.
hey Rob, i live in Ontario, Canada. A law was just passed for the slingshot that you do not have to have a motorcycle license. you used to have to have a M license and a helmet. But i guess polaris settled with the government lol because having to have a motorcycle license was hurting the sales of the slingshot. Also the slingshot has a 2.4 GM Ecotec lmao
every time i see someone driving one of these i can't help but shake my head
ONLY T-Rex? WTF Can Am's Spyder has been out for quite a long time dude.
rob is the mark dice of cars
The powerplant is the same Ecotech drivetrain used in the N/A Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky roadsters.
3 wheel trike with 1 rear drive wheel, Chevy 4 cylinder (turbo?) engine, interesting styling I guess. It's kinda cool. Thank goodness it has a manual gearbox.
Rob, the brakes work, just gotta pump it once, then the second time it'll work
This thing slays backroads; that's why.
I know it could be state by state, but the sling shot does NOT require a Motorcycle license, or helmet.
"the polaris slingshot, it's made by a company called polaris" wow *mind blown*
I was able to test drive one. He's right about the brakes. They're not high performance brakes and soft. The swing arm looks weak as well. If you ride a motorcycle everyday, which I do when I can, you also notice the torque is really lagging. It doesn't really pull you into your seat hard like you think it would. Not a motorcycle. This is a Sunday driver for an older couple still wanting to ride in the open. Not a sports machine for a single guy if that's what you're looking for.
As good as it looks and fun it seems to drive I would not pay $25,000 for one..
save the 25,000$ for an r32 skyline instead:)
That girl was totally a TEST DRIVE UNLIMITED reference
The hitchhiker part got me lol
