Excellent job on the instrument panel / dash board. I like the exterior color choice, but think the black panel lines of the doors and trunk is a bit overdone on that color. When I build mine, I'll be sure to use a lighter gray panel line to tone that down - if I use a light color on the body. Thanks for showing how this kit goes together. It's on my "to buy" list.
I love the Color Combo, it looks like the factory color called "Ginger Poly". My daughter bought this kit for me for my Birthday next week, I'm going to do mine Ivy Green and Beige, which was another factory color. That's how I like building my models, I like painting something that close to a factory color and then I'll put some type of custom wheels on them. The Wheels I'm going to put on this one are the "Hunnycomb" custom wheels from 75 Dodge Dart Sport kit.
Nice build clad you did a more unusual color skeem and a vinyl top. Car manufacturers were offering some strange options back in those days. It was all about being different. You showed it well. The Cougar the early’70s Mustangs had all of that do nothing space up front to save your life in case of a 5 mph “crash “.😂
Another well done build and video! That review portion when you were curious about that Super Chute thing had me get a LOL here! Sorry I can't say what it's for either. Perhaps someone with original issue kit can help, only other one I have is prior issue and don't think it is in there.
Very nice Louie!!! Its colors and look are really fitting for its era! That badge comes from the original issue. Its a belt buckle for kids to wear after building the model. The giant parachute is a leftover from the MPC 72 Cougar which had a spoof version to build
Thanks for pointing out the fitment issue of the chassis. I had similar issues with other MPC kits too. They were very loose and wobbly. I had to make mounting system for the chassis to lock it in, so I could make the adjustments to the ride height. Maybe you should add test fitting the chassis to the body in your review part?
Does anybody remember the ol' little Crashmobile toy car? The fenders and roof would fly off when the bumper hit an immovable object. The front bumper on that reminded me decades later of the "slapped on" 5mph bumpers that Detroit was too lazy or cheap to re-design for. This car is a typical example. You can tell the designer did NOT mean for it to have a f'in guard rail pasted on the front. So, I think it would be fun to undo the law and set those bumpers into the body and re-imagine what the original design was supposed to be. Not just this car but the 70s GMs too. Nice job, Bub even if it's a Ford car, lol 👀
I don’t know. It says nothing about them in the instruction book. I’m guessing left over from another version. Odd. Thank you for watching!! Happy modeling
I use Tamiya cement that I put into this needle type dispenser and Mr Hobby liquid quick set. Some superglue from the dollar store. Thank you for watching!!
Also one more question. I’m having a tough time with doing the window trims. I tried using the Moltow chrome pen but it bleeds so much. I haven’t tried bare metal foil yet. I did see that you used a silver sharpie ? Does that work well because it looks really good ? I just started modeling again I finished a 66 Malibu SS it came out okay for a first build but my trim is not the best. I’m working on a 70 road runner now.
Sweet that you can also build a stock version. That means people (me) can buy more than one!

Thank you for the tip!! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Nice! This final year of the Mustang-based Cougar always struck me as quite a nice car. None after it interested me.
The dashboard turned out great 👍
That 1970s disco music was perfectly aligned with that car, good pick.
I have a cougar, but its not the cat one its blue on the box. good video.

Sharpie Shaolin !!!👍🏼👍🏼

The two-legged kind are definitely the more dangerous! 😅

The brand is citadel. I got mine from hobby lobby
Nice build. You made that car look like one I’ve seen before. That car was new when I was a teenager.

I don’t know either, it might be from the 1971 issue of the zinger version.
@@TheAutisticModeler Probably was put in for a drag race version in the past.
Very nice job Louie!!!
Very nice looking build. You put a lot of effort in this one, and it really shows. The kit looks like it is a good one,

Beautifully done! When I was a kid, my parents had a 1973 Lincoln Continental in a bright yellow! This Cougar reminds me of it!
You gave it the coloring of a mountain lion:true to the nature of a cougar. Sharp!

Thank you!!! I appreciate you watching

Good idea. I’ll see if I can find a way to put the in. Thank you
Nos encantan tus videos y este modelo Mercury es genial. saludos fraternos desde el sur del mundo Chile.
I’m so glad to hear from my friends of other countries!! Thank you for watching and Happy Modeling!!
That is a great piece of Detroit Iron and you have done it up brilliantly!
This is a very striking and different color scheme.
Awesome job my friend 👍😎
Great work as always, Louie! Thanks for doing this video!
I appreciate you watching!! Happy Modeling!!

Thank you Cory!!!
Absolutely Impressive !!! 🙂 You are very talented and it shows !! Sweet looking build !! Cant wait to see more 👍
Boss 429 engine nicknames are the shot gun and semi hemi
Just like the real thing. Another project completed perfectly.
5:40 what was them parts used for ?
Looks like large two way radio's with the long antennas 🙂
I don’t know. It says nothing about them in the instruction book. I’m guessing left over from another version. Odd. Thank you for watching!! Happy modeling
The steering wheel could use some detailing.
Hey quick question, what glue do you use ?
I use Tamiya cement that I put into this needle type dispenser and Mr Hobby liquid quick set. Some superglue from the dollar store. Thank you for watching!!
@@TheAutisticModeler that’s great !!!!! I need to try that! Your awesome keep up the great builds !!!!

A silver sharpie is great for trim. Dries really fast and doesn’t run. Sorry for the last response.
That's a midsized platform shares no mustang part's
Not my cup of tea, these cars were massive and they looked too obese. The kit would be nice to make it a worn down or abandon car.
Please dont make this an absurd racecar! Better a yacht hauler or something along those lines.
Al Midon
I built it all stock.
