I like the way you teach... at 76 I know nothing, but you actually give measurements and I don't have to run after the measures. Thank you, God bless you. I subscribed and will press in that bell. Perfect for gifts. You are sharing your gifts from God.
Thanks for the great tutorial! I made a bag using 16" pieces of fabric and a little shorter straps. I still placed them down 2" from the top edge like you did for the larger bag and found that that was essential for having room at the top to turn and top- stitch. However, since my bag was narrower, I only brought them in from the sides about 4". It all seemed to work out. Looking forward to more of your tutorials!
Wow you make it look so easy. My problem is that when i make a tote bag. Its way to big. But i will definitly try your system. Thank you for sharing this wonderful video.
I'm a beginner, so this was a great find on TH-cam. Clear and concised instructions and great demo on putting the bag together. I was getting bored sewing cushion covers. I know what I'll be sewing next! Thank you.
Very nice tutorial. I’m going to make this today and I’m planning on adding embroidery on it. My husband will be so happy when he finds out that I’m finally using the embroidery machine that he bought me last Christmas. Lol!
Your video is probably one of the most well made videos that I have watched. Your pacing was great explanation was wonderful and I didn't have to guess what you were doing bc your camera work was stellar. Great job.
Love your ideas. I have sewed for years and so enjoy your tutorials. Recently I have joined your channel as a subscriber and find it so much fun. Thanks for sharing your ideas..
Love this design. You make it look so easy I have to make one right now! I think I will use some heavier quilt backing and fat quarters that I have, so mine will be 18”. I have done 2 bags. This is a great tutorial! Easy to follow The one thing I changed on the second bag is that when I top stitched at the end I stitched across the handles, instead of under the handles. I did this because the first bag pulls from the bottom of the handles and puts a lot of stress on the stitches.
Thank you do much for a really simple way to make tote bags. I made 2 already and I was pleased how they turned out. I have many more to go with all the material I found stuffed away. Your explanation was really easy to understand
Brilliant tutorial. I have made many bags, mostly by guess work, and I was so impressed with your measurements and excellent presentation. These would make great gifts for friends, hope they do well in your craft festival. Love from Australia (we are so cold at the moment!)
Great instructions. Going to make these for gifts. I am staying in because of a heat wave in U.S. and hubbie having Covid so good sewing time especially for making Christmas gifts.
Loved the tutorial! I've watched quite a few of these and I'm always more confused than I was when I started 🙃 this was great can't wait to try it myself
Hi Norah. I love your videos, learned so much from you! I was wondering if you could tell me how much you sell your tote bags for? I am making some to put on marketplace and wondered what I should charge? I did put batting inside mine to make it more sturdy. I did a formula for a quilt I sold, and it worked out to 6.00 a square foot. I don’t make much but am happy to get my costs and maybe a bit more to be able to keep making things. Thanks
This is so great for a sew-along! Do you ever run into issues where the lining keeps coming out as you are emptying the bag? I made some small bags and I constantly feel the lining dancing about. Maybe the link needs to be smaller? If you have any tips I’d appreciate them.
Lovely make. I would personally stitch straps on through both thicknesses of fabric. In this way the stress of the weight carried in the bag is not all on one thickness of fabric.
Wow, your tote bag , making gave me a tip . Leaving a opening in the top , since yuor going to sew around the edge. Instead of leaving an opening inside and sewing it. Thanks 🙏🏿

Why don't you do a tutorial on making your kind of hand bags out of pillow cases or old towels. You can decorate them anyway you want. The pillow cases can't be sized off that much different and the old towels would be perfect for using if you used them to bring food home from the supermarket. You can get old pillow cases from a thrify store so that'd even be cheaper then buying new fabric. I don't do shows on utube. I just watch. So, if your interested had a go and have fun! I'll watch if you do either.

I can’t wait to make this. We make these for unwed teenage moms. Another group fills them with baby items
I love that you do that. The moms must be so appreciative. And in a hand made tote would be awesome!

That’s a great idea to top stitch over the handles! I’m so pleased you had success with your bags!

These will be great to make for our Quilt Show boutique!
Excellent instructions! Thank U so very much 😊
Very clear instructions. What brand is your sewing machine? It appears that you have a lot of space when you're sewing on the machine.

Awesome tutorial, going toake one. Love your channel ❤
Thanks Beverly! Good luck with your bag!
Well presented. Will look at the video about the craft fair. Thanks.
Thanks Carol! Happy sewing.
You are the best!!! Thank-you
Really appreciate your clear, consise instructions! Way too often, people talk incessantly; all that chatter distracts from the instructions. 😊
Beautiful bag! I'll be making a few for sure!
enjoy your tutorials
Lovely make.

Great tutorial ! Thank you so much!
Might give this a go thank u🥰
Making bags for Christmas presents. Need to make a diaper bag out of minky material. Any suggestions?
Wow, your tote bag , making gave me a tip . Leaving a opening in the top , since yuor going to sew around the edge. Instead of leaving an opening inside and sewing it. Thanks 🙏🏿
Awesome 🧵✅
Great bag, thanks 😊
Very nice. Well done. Thank you.
I like your presentation
Why not cut fabric on the fold, less sewing?
How much do you sell these for? I need an idea so I can mark mine accordingly.
I am very bad at pricing. I always seem to get it wrong, but I’m thinking about $15 for these bags. Good luck with yours!
Do you purchase your handle/strap material in bulk?
What material do you use for handle?
It’s the same canvas material as the bag. I just purchase what I need for each bag. Thanks for watching!
Me gusta mucho la confecciones d los bolsos! Si no he molestia, envía las medidas? Gracias y bendiciones 🙏🙏❤️❤️
Maravillosa, gracias.

Nice and easy.
I like large, useful bags better
Small needle point wallets--- let me know if anyone has them, finished or unfinished-------NK
I like this bag but no pocket. Dont need a pocket for groc
I wish you would call it nautic fabric, and not "seamen"🙄
