    You are so awesome! So creative. Today I practiced sewing straight lines on paper with my new sewing machine because I have ALWAYS wanted to quilt. I am learning a ton from you and I am also learning not to take it all so seriously. I love that you have taught me that. I came to TH-cam with a very strict / regimented idea of quilting and you have changed me. I want to say, thank you. I also wanted to tell you because of you my husband now wants to learn with me. I came to him with excitement about wonky houses and he has decided that we should quilt together. Isn’t that great? Praise God. Thank you. Have a blessed day.

      I’m having difficulties 😩 Trying to make a bag similar to the one you have on here with the quilt block. My quilt block is smaller and I’m having issues with the boarder around it. Stupid question: how did you add your quilt block to the flannel? It looks like the boarder was sewn around the edges and ironed? I’m a beginner with handbags and also quilting. I’m using canvas as my exterior and trying to make the canvas the boarder to my quilt block..

    Wow! That is a beautiful bag. Thanks for the detailed tutorial. It looks so sturdy and I love the interior pockets. So, now I want to make tote bags, too! Also, I know you say you usually use scraps, especially for quilting. But your fabrics are always so beautiful. ❤❤❤

    You really inspired me!!! I have made a lot of complicated cross-body bags with tons of hardware, but I am so excited to make these very practical tote bags. I ordered the New hymn panel but sure wish I could get my hands on the older version. I think the colors are better and even the hymn selection is at least more recognizable. But regardless, you inspired me!!
    I'm sure you already know this and wanted to keep this video is beginner friendly. But one tip I learned is to gradually enlarge the seam allowance in the lining. Start with 3/8" at the top and gradually increase to 1/2". Use 1/2" for the bottom seam allowance. This slightly reduces the lining size but makes a big difference in how the lining fits inside the bag. If you hear that Moda is reprinting the original, I would love if you could let me know.
    Thanks so much for doing this video. One of the best videos I have seen in a long while. My list of ideas is growing by the minute. Some of the comments are giving me ideas too.

    I love how you keep referring to the interfacing as ‘crispy!’ I know exactly what you mean, just never heard it described that way!
    I wish I’d seen this video 3 weeks ago, when I was making tote bags for Christmas gifts!

    Love this bag! I make bags for local charities and this fits the bill nicely. Prayers for your sister. I'm going through my second round as well...after 21 years in remission.

      @pamstrong8709 Just realized you made this comment a year ago. I hope and pray all is well and that the second round was enormously successful. And also, I believe Jesus is coming soon!
      I was thinking about making some of these for charities. Can you share the types of charities that are interested in tote bags?

    I absolutely love this and am so glad you made a pattern. I will definitely be going to purchase that to have and make a few of these for some of my girlfriends; they are perfect for Bible study, craft get togethers, and of course library book hauls! LOL 😂📚🧵🪡 Thanks again!🥰

    I have just found your channel and have subscribed. Watched a couple of previous tutorials. One being the headband. So glad to see that you cut out the music while you are talking. Looking forward to trying some. Like the suggestion of using flannel for interfacing. I don't care for stiff tote bags.

    I love all your work and tutorials!!!!!! I'm learning so much from you!!!! Thank You!!!!! I just bought a Christmas panel from "Fancy That Design House". I love their designs!!!!
    When you peiced together your fabric and panel did you use a 2.5 stitch? What size stitch did you use on the Hymn Panel and was that just decorative? I love it.

    • @PinCutSew
      @PinCutSew  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh yay! Do you mean the stitching that shows on the outside? I hand stitched that with a thick thread.

    Thank you so much for this pattern! I have now made two of them!! Id like to make one a little bigger. If I add two inches to the length and width do I need to change the size of the box corner cuts from two inches to a bigger size?

    • @PinCutSew
      @PinCutSew  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In my experience, the box corners can stay the same, but you can try making them just 1/2” bigger too 👍🏻
