Decades ago, I came across this place called, "Pinks". I was just looking for something to eat. I didn't know this place was famous. I got hooked on their chili dogs. Simple and straight to the point.

Wow bro I'm not used to seeing hot dogs all jazzed up like these... love how food in Cali is like this (ie. new, hip, fusion, forward-thinking, innovative) whereas over in the East Coast we tend to stick to traditions... get's kind of boring sometimes... they sure do look delicious though! MUSTARD IS A MUST!

You need to do a roadtrip across the country.
Taste test basic foods, like hotdogs etc. that everyday people eat.
Then do a top 5 in each category when the trip is done.
Tell people what cities, towns and places in the middle of nowhere you're planning on hitting. Everyone will give you suggestions on places to try.
Start with a Southwest loop over winter
Then do an all around the country loop in the spring.
You're fun to watch and not canned/comnercial like the dumb food network shows.

@@RockstarEater Start small with a lap of SoCal. Then add in AZ & NV. Maybe find some RV company or something to help sponsor it. Even if it's an RV dealer who is trying to move older stuff. If it runs and doesn't leak, that's enough for a start. Lots of people on tight budgets that would love to do the same thing. Become champion of ordinary Americans. We just want to ride around and check out new places and get some decent road food along the way. Nothing fancy, just good basic eats, from all cuisines!

This old body with it's old plumbing doesn't do well with hot dogs....when I do feel a hot dog craving, I go down the street to the Original Tommy's and get a truly enjoyable chili cheese dog. They use a good quality dog, it snaps with each bite.

I love the look of these hotdogs and would happily eat all of them, however it would only be an occasional thing. For me, a casual hotdog should be more about the flavour of the dog itself, the way it's marinated, perhaps smoked, grilled etc and then the bun and condiments should complement that flavour of the dog. To have so much stuff piled on top of the dog, you're kind of eating a meal with a tiny bit of dog in there somewhere, it just gets lost and is no longer an authentic hot dog.

Umm here in Australia, I recently paid $8.50 for a hotdog and it was just a bun with a dog in it, and a little bit of cheese. That was it. $9.50 for one of these dogs which is a complete meal is amazing value!! I would happily pay $15 for such a dog.

Whatever happened to a good basic dog? Now, the more stuff (crap) you put on a dog, the more the critics (youtubers) put on it the better they think it is awesome. Sorry. not buying it
