My Downloadable OD&D Monster and Treasure Assortment PDF & How to Make an Original D&D Booklet

- One of the rarest and most difficult to find Original Dungeons & Dragons books is the old Monster & Treasure Assortment. Even the PDFs you find online are a mess, and even if you do find one in decent shape the original publication was three-hole punched, so your prints will still look pretty terrible.

The faded print and gray pages, the yellowing cover, margin notes, and the three-hole punch scars have all been removed. What's left is a nearly perfect printable PDF of this classic supplement.
I made it for my homemade OD&D box set, and I am publishing it here so you can add it to yours as well, but if you want to print it out full sized and add it to your collection in a binder, the way the original product was intended to be used, the contrast is perfect and can easily be read even on the traditional colored paper.
If you'd like to print it as a booklet that will fit into an OD&D box, you can do that too.

I have found a lot of great paper cutting tools at Goodwill. I think I found a metal straight edge, paper cutter good condition for 15 bucks. They even had an old Combbinder but I don't have the room. Great hobby ideas!
found your channel through your custom dm screen and subbed for that, my like for this video comes because i actually thought you were going to make me watch you fold every sheet lol. I'm new-ish in the terms of TTRPG's (played 3 sessions of 3rd edition back at college) and my group loves playing 3.5 pathfinder, however i found my love for the old school when i started delving into the realm of solo rpg's and although i have yet to get my group to play anything older than pathfinder 1e, i have been enjoying the older versions myself, they are like a fine wine that only gets better with age.
The older versions of D&D are better than the new versions. No doubt. They are better than most modern rule sets... but not all.
Take a look at Castles & Crusades. The publisher is called Troll Lord Games and they have a free Players Handbook download.

i just bought this tonight on e-bay 20 bucks. I wouldn't say they are crazy expensive. If you want a perfect one sure. like 40-70$ US but for a playable copy i dont mind some stains and such. However i must say thanks for the PDF looks great!

Subscribed! Thanks for this awesome cleanup of this most obscure booklet! I've been on a bit of an early D&D / RPG binge as of late, so this comes at a perfect time. Do you have any plans on giving the old Dungeon Geomorphs booklet a similar treatment?
I don't currently have any copies, but when I find a set on EBay you can bet I'm not going to cut them up. I'll definitely remaster them and make copies.
Now I regret that as a teenager I didn't buy everything I saw in the store, like Dungeon Geomorphs! They're all worth something now, plus my library would be more interesting.

Yes and no. The original publication wasn't a book. It was three sets of looseleaf, three-hole-punched pages on thin, colored cardstock. This book is a consolidation of all three bundles.
I printed mine out scaled up and put it in a half-inch 3 ring binder and non-glossy page protectors. I did the same for Full Metal Plate Mail, the most faithful OD&D clone I could find.
I bought the overpriced, overproduced Wizards reprint of OD&D when it first came out, but the manuals are awful and I would hate to see them get damaged at a table.
