I've heard so many horror stories about contractors who don't complete the work, do shoddy work, or just take the money and run. I'm glad you will have a nice floor now. I found your video to be helpful; no need to apologize for showing your methods. Sue, from the US.

Oh thank you so much Sue. Our floor was such a shame as it was terrible right from the start, but it was one of those situations. On the plus side, our lovely new floor is almost finished now (just a lot of cleaning up left to do!!!) x

Not at all boring for me. I always gather new ideas, tips and tricks watching the signatures being sewn in. I appreciate the process and how we each manage to get the signatures in with such patience. I love how these both turned out, and yes, beautifully done! Oh I had to go out for an appointment today and what do you know, the quilt shop across the street was open and no shoppers inside. I had a blast shopping and gazing at all the lovely fabrics. Spent over an hour in there comparing materials and finding pieces to make journals with. Fun, fun, fun! Rather felt like it was Christmas all over again.

Aha! I learned something new today. I love how you fold the edges of the inside of the cover. It never occurred to me to do it this way. Cutting and trimming gets a bit tedious. Thank you for sharing!!

I like the fold over and tear away on inside cover method as well. And sheet music as the insude cover too. It does take away the step of matchung to journal. TFS those two great ideas!.

I love your tutorials Tina, especially as I am still a newbie to them so its not patronising at all. Every one has to start from somewhere. Thank you for your kind words for those of us who have to shield. We are the lucky ones who has good grown up children and they see to our shopping for us. They even wipe it all down before it gets to us.....where in an area where it is really bad. Hubby cant go out as he is recovering from 3rd stage stomach cancer and chemo, so his immune system is on the floor. As for me I am disabled and live upstairs as downstairs is too painful and the bathroom is too far away from the lounge. where as upstairs, its steps away as is my craft room when I am well enough to go in there. The internet is a fabulous thing, I love yt and watching you ladies craft it gives me my crafty fix. plus with whatsapp to video call the children and my grandchildren is amazing. So yes thank goodness for the internet. How is your daughter coping not seeing her little friends again? has she been given school work to do at home? My 1 grandson who is 10 has been given plenty and expected to do 6 hours a day like they would be in school. Please stay safe xxxxxx

Your children sound like they are really looking after you, even wiping your shopping down. It's been going on for so long now, it must be really tough for you and your husband. You are always so cheery, which I am sure helps you get through difficult days. Yes, where would we be without the internet? It's an absolute wonder isn't it, to be able to bring us all together with the likes of facetime etc, and allow us to watch only the things that we are interested in. We are so lucky these days to have such a fantastic resource. Look after yourself x

Tina m'dear, this is EXTREMELY helpful! I can make JJ insides til the cows come home, and in tidying up over the past week I was frighteningly AMAZED at the amount of stuff I've made but had few places to put things. My absolute favorite thing you shared was how you stack your pages. Nobody has, at least as far as I know, said that before. You remain my heroine. From the Southern California desert, MK. 🌹❤️☀️🌵

I love this. And, yes, I have done handmade journals many times for my journals. But then, there are becoming many more elaborate, yet functional journals available for purchase or for inspiration in making your own. While I enjoyed every one of the fancier journals. Like most of us, I got quite a bit of inspiration for making my more elaborate journals from You Tube, Pinterest, and individual postings online. However, while I enjoyed making every page I made in these journals, I am truly enjoying the junk journals much more. I have my images separated into categories and store then in inexpensive ziplock type containers. They are labeled on one side and one end. It seems so much easier to just reach up and pull the containers I know I will need for a particular project. I do a lot of my work in my den, sitting with my hubby watching a movie or a series on Netflix. I have to sit more than I would like due to severe injuries I received in a car wreck in 1991 so being able to work on something while still being in the same room with Gene is an added blessing. When I am working along with Tina on a project, I will make from twelve to 24 of them, getting them to a point that will require something else. Then I put all I’ve done in a ziplock bag, along with everything else I need to finish that particular embellishment, pocket, tag, etc and label it so I’ll know what it is. So, I always have something to work on, without it being overload on my brain. And I love having things I’ve made ahead either ready or in a bag, ready to finish. Tina has proven to us time after time that something does not have to be time consuming to make, or expensive in order to be beautiful. I see it more and more as I follow and/or join her as she creates the things she shares with us. I am so grateful to Tina for her kind and giving spirit. I’m actually learning to relax as I craft. I love it!

I like the idea of the inner cover folded over at edging and tearing . I like the music sheet paper as well to inside cover to take away the step of matching up to journal. Your front cover of this particular one is so beautiful.
With that heavy of a cover and thicker pages a double bind is a must isn't it ?! When I've made journals with envies I sew all the 3 pieces together at once, front middle envie, and inside cover. That also saves alot of time.
Your method is probably best for upholstery fabric and old vintage music sheets, for it being fragile
TFS your technique Tina, it's nice to see different methods.

Morning Tina, thank you for this very interesting video. Please don't think that it is tedious watching you do what you have done before. I am a fairly newbie and seeing how you put in the signatures was a real revelation. I have stopped myself making my own journal from scratch because i thought of the impossible job of adhering the pages inside. WELL, now I know. I also want to thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos, i can imagine how much time it takes with filming and you also have a family to care for, so I, for one, am eternally grateful. Having a horrible week so far, lost another 2 friends from my art group to Covid, so am feeling vulnerable and extremely anxious, (sorry to worry everyone about this) ANYHOOOOO, watching your videos each morning with my coffee helps me get through the day. One favour i DO have for you, could you PLEASE start decorating one of the lovely covers and signatures you have just made, it will help a lot, because I now don't know how to carry on!!!!! (Blame it on the Boogie. LOL) Well, dear friend, as always, stay safe and well. Blessings and hugs Diana

Two years of journal making I still learn something new everyday!! I love how you sewed in the signatures. I tried embroidery thread and did not double it like you did. The signature was moving after I decorated the journal. I had to cut that thread out and use my wax thread! Next time I will try your way. 😄 Yes I feel very blessed to have crafting to keep busy. And all you wonderful ladies that I watch everyday while I'm in my craft shed!! Thank you for inspiring us Tina...💜

Thank you Tina for your tutorials and I think they are helpful 👍🏻💝👍🏻
I appreciate also the video of cover making with fabric because I'm hoarding samples from Laura Ashley and now I know how to make with it 😍
So please, don't apologize for your contents 💝
I saw that you were struggling with your needle...did you try to use a blind needle?? It makes it easier to ‘find’ the hole...perhaps it's make your binding easier?!?! 🤓
And yessss...I agree that we are all lucky that we can make something beautiful and create!!! I spend a big amount of time creating goodies for the old lady's of my community as a volunteer and it's nice to see how pleased they are...
We all have so many reasons to be grateful!!!!!

Oh thank you so much Victoria, I really appreciate your kindness. I know what you mean about hoarding the samples, I had been doing that, until I managed to buy a bunch when they were closing down (which I was so gutted about). Thank you for the tip about a blind needle, I will look that up. Have a lovely day x

Beautiful covers, Tina! I had found, sewing in signatures was a bit difficult for me. I was puttung in way too many pages. Then I lessened the amount of pages per signature, and I usually don't have a problem. Sometimes. I only put in one signature, and I do like making those types of journals from time to time. Fabric covers are my absolute favorite! Thanks for sharing! Hugs 💕 Suzy
