Great video, Tina.😊 I wish that I HADN'T bought so many supplies when I first started looking into this hobby, because they were expensive, and I put it all on credit cards that I'm still paying on. That was a HUGE mistake! Here, in my small town in Alaska, there are a couple of thrift shops. One has a half-off day the first Saturday of the month. A friend of mine and I like to go on that day. I have found a lot of supplies for journal making, and other crafts that I like to do. I've also put the word out to friends that I am looking for fabric and supplies, and have been given a lot of stuff! Put the word out in your community, and accept everything! I quietly and discreetly pass on those items I can't use. You'd be amazed how quickly your stash can grow! If I would have done these two things to begin with, I would have only needed to buy ink! 😊❤
For so many years I have loved your mass making Tina, I left my job of 16yrs this year & now my mum is in a rest home ❤ I hope I can participate again in your videos soon, much loves & congratulations to you...blessings always xo 🤗 ❤
Hi, i just know that these tips will help me so much as i am a newbie to scrapbooking it,s nice that you demonstrated we dont have to go out and buy all the craft supplies at first and can just use what we already have in our stash until we get more experienced like you said charity shops car boot sales etc can offer up some great bits and pieces i am working my way through all your tutorials and really enjoying them i will get through them all one day 😊 tfs ❤ alison
Thank you so much Alison, I really appreciate your taking the time to comment. I’m thrilled that you’re finding my videos helpful. Welcome to the world of junk journalling xx
Ty so much for this Tina. I have always thought exactly as you did, that I have to make pieces to match my journal. Now I’ve watched this, I’m going to give mass making a go! Quite excited actually! lol! ❤
Thank you so much Cindy, I really agree, it took me such a long time to build up a stash when I started. Glad it was still of some help even as a longtime journal maker xx
Hi Tina i have a huge stash and many many journals the question is what to do with them, the struggle is real lol 😂😂ive taken hoarding to a whole new level.😂😂 I’m still making more , i also hate to use my beautiful stash and thats getting bigger and bigger. Sending hugs ❤❤
Yupppp. Making ahead is awesome! Drove myself nuts on the first 5 or 6 journals I made, making pockets, etc., and ephemera as I went, page by page. Arrrrgh.
Hi Tina, Congratulations on 56K!!! You will be at 60k before you know it!! I have been making my ephemera for each journal. The pieces are extra special and coordinate beautifully. I usually make from elements of the kits I use. You are so right. They really are time-consuming. The pockets you made tonight will be gorgeous in upcoming projects. I hope you do a Halloween folio this year. The folio series are so popular!! I am working on my first ring bound journal...thanks to your fantastic inspiration. Xo, Julie 🧡🍂💛🍂🤎🍁
It’s really hard to build up a stash, and get into the swing of that, but I know that for me at least it was a great shift in the process of making journals xx
I’ve hardly bought any supplies, mostly just glue and paper and some lovely digitals, and “house” shopping, especially using old scrapbooking supplies. I do have some old card making stuff so will make some of these tomorrow, thanks for inspiring yet again ❤
I have did most of the mass makes over the years. My favorite series was the Gosford Green journal. Most of what I make now I use for making cards. I still hoard things that I have purchased from your shop. Much love to you and your family ❤❤❤
Thank you so much Laura, I remember your beautiful Gosford Green journal 🥰. You make beautiful cards. Thank you so much for all your kindness over all these years 🥰❤️ xx
Thank you so much Tina! So helpful and a reminder for me because I have to build up my stash again because of moving across to world to live here in Jersey.
Hi Tina, this was such a great and kind video, especially for those new to our craft! 👍 You gave some lovely, simple explanations and it was kind of you to show how to collect resources without having to break the bank, or buy everything from your shop. You really have a generous spirit. 😊 The advice on mass making was definitely useful. My advice about that is always make items in different colours and themes, as Tina did in this video. This maximises the chances you will actually use your creations in future. Thank you for sharing, Tina. You really have a sweet and gentle nature and are a delight to watch. 🤗🥰 🇦🇺🦘🐨
Thank you so much for your ideas and inspiration! You create such beautiful things! I've been making junk journals for years , and I I've only just started making up decorated ephemera ahead. So your tortorial was just what I needed! A big hello and hugs from B.C. Canada
Hi Tina, pick a pocket or two is a song from the musical Oliver. I am at the stage of it taking me ages to finish a journal. I only started to watch and learn how do make them in January this year. Still learning every video I watch. Your videos, inspiration and chat have been a great help. I live on my own in a one bed apartment, so storage is not ideal. I work on my extended dining table with added storage units at one end of the lounge. Great video thank you🙂Xx
Hi Tina, even though ive been doing journals now for 2 x a half yrs i did go silly at first buying supplies online x it cost me heaps x its hard for me to get out to places cos im in a wheelchair x i have several not so nice health problems to deal with x i cant go out unless i have my carer with me so i still buy online but i dont over buy anymore but i do arrange to go out twice a mth x then go to the local op shops of wich i am lucky as there are quite a few around x i go into the discount stores around the area but you did get me into mass making x i now do that a lot crafting with you or watching you while i have a cuppa x i take notes x then do it myself later. Yesterday i was having a mass making sesion x i was covering copy paper completely with paper napkins as i have a huge collection of around 60 diferent designs of wich i buy in packs of 20 online with Temu very cheaply but i got a little carried away with myself yesterday x by the time i had finished i found i had done 153 A4 sized papers of all the diferent design😂s cos you can get some really beuatiful designs now, so i have lots of lovely decorative papers to use in making pockets or ephemera or to use in a signature of a journal too!. I have found for me this works well even if i did go just a tad overboard with how much i made but i know i will use it all. And i just got a new printer so am looking forward to getting x using some of your digitals. Just waiting for my grandson to set it up for me. Today i made 7 journal covers for the journals I'm making for xmas gifts x i just got asked to make 3 more to sell to a freind who wants them to give as gifts so i may be disabled but i keep very busy x it all helps me with my shaky jerky hands x has actualy improved it for me as im doing it all every day x i spend all day crafting. I used to do landscape paintings but cos of my hands i cant as much anymore but i use my paints in my journals so its all good but i never miss your vidios x i would advise anyone new whos interested to watch you x to do some mass making cos we can surprise ourselves with what we can acheive even for those like me who are disabled, i cant walk x i have trouble using my hands but its not stopped me x im proud of what i can make x how lovely they can look. Its a good hobby for someone like me so if you are new to journal making id advise anyone to giv it a try cos for me it was a life saver x thats in part due to you Tina as i watch you x Gayle Agustonelli every day x you are my favourite 2 vidios to watch for journaling x i thank you so very much, the very first vidio i ever watched on making journals was one of your vidios. Godbless you x thanku...
Lol yes I always had stash envy 🙊 actually looking at that I still do despite having my own 😄. Lol pick a pocket🙊. There are lots of free sites for printable music and even some book pages. Lol I just rust dyed some paper. Oh PIXABAY is good for free images, old photos etc. I started an Amazon wish list to get some stuff for Christmas presents too🙊. Oh you go girl, gluing a whole stack of envelopes in one go 🤘. Your 'using unusable papers' is still one of my favourites, ooh I fancy doing that again. Oh, broken jewellery, relatives old clothes (including buttons), and stash swapping with friends, junk mail, dying old bedding/table linen, £1 shop, creators freebies, packaging, lol you've got me all fired up a re-motivated🤘. Remember how it took me years to ink?🙈. Lol Bo is wondering why you keep saying her name🙊. Awesome video, I'm fired up for when my symptoms subside 🤘. Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖
...and old high school year books from (at least here) a vintages and antiques shop. I purchased two cuz they were so reasonably priced! Junkie hugs my friend. Get on feelin' better!! 🤗🤗❤❤🤗🤗
Lol our Tina certainly gets the ideas going! I'd love to live in a shop like that 😄 I'd go bust though from hoarding instead of selling 🙈. Feeling a little better thank you sweetheart, I hope you're well too🤗💖🤗💖🤗
This video is full of great info and tips!!! I'm new to junkj jounals so can relate to needing to build a stash of items. Love the envelope pockets too. Thanks for a great video. ❤
I enjoy your videos and I want to have make aheads too.Quote: “The legacy of kindness echoes in eternity.” -Unknown. Huge HUGS and kind thoughts. Namaste 🐞🐞🐞
💯 on everything you're saying here. What an excellent vid! Mass makes/making ahead is the way to go, although sometimes I get sidetracked (DARN that ADHD) with a scrap of paper from a page or something I'm using to build a journal and spend 1/2 an hour playing with it because... uh... well, I'm not really sure why. Why did I come into this room anyway? Is this my drink? I hafta pee...
Haha, I can relate to that…..honestly all the time I’m like “erm what was I doing? Why did I come in here? What was I about to say?” The list goes on….🤣🥴 hope your day is going great xx
Hi its Tina from ltaly I LOVED this video.l am watching for your wonderful ideas to cover art books etc.l am sure you will all scream with laughter at my question 😂😂😂 but l dont live in England.l dont understand what a journal is or what it is used for??? Sori l am so dunb!!!
Distress Ink can be a bit expensive. I often use a cheap ink pad in brown or tan and a makeup sponge to distress edges. Only about £1 ink from The Range and poundshop for sponge
Hello, I am wondering is using a laser printer okay for printing digitals, I see a lot seem to use inkjet printers. Love your videos thanks for sharing your skills Lyn
Thank you so much Lyn. Yes a laser printer is fine for digitals, from my own perspective I think it’s just because laser printing at home is too expensive so most of us have inkjets xx
Well it sounds like you probably have quite a good supply of ready made items, so you will be able to make a journal without the stress of having to make each and every little thing. I started out as a card maker, then moved on to scrapbooking more and then stumbled across junk journals, I was hooked from then on 🤗🤣 xx
Oh that would be amazing, I did have a huge supply, but began running low about a year ago. The shop that I had bought it from previously doesn’t seem to have any of the reality old stuff anymore, so now I’m hoarding what I have left over 🤣🤣 xx
The fact that you had printing on the back of your digital paper that you used for your envelope pockets is the epitome of junk journaling. Using something that would have been trash and making it useful. No need to apologize
Great video, Tina.😊 I wish that I HADN'T bought so many supplies when I first started looking into this hobby, because they were expensive, and I put it all on credit cards that I'm still paying on. Hi Tina, great tips. It's always good to have a refresher every now and then. Excellent for those just starting out. 🙂♥️
Once again thanks for another great video and for sharing tips with us.❤
Ty so much for this Tina. I have always thought exactly as you did, that I have to make pieces to match my journal. Now I’ve watched this, I’m going to give mass making a go!
Quite excited actually! lol! ❤
Thanks for sharing your valuable insight Tina! 😊
Great video. Love the fact you show how to make such pretty things with minimal supplies
Needed this video when I started. Still was able to learn some things after years of journal making. TFS. ❤
Thank you so much Cindy, I really agree, it took me such a long time to build up a stash when I started. Glad it was still of some help even as a longtime journal maker xx
Great tips and tricks Tina! Thank you for your inspiration! 🩵
Great tips for us beginners. I've started making "sample" pieces and should spend some time making more.
Hi Tina i have a huge stash and many many journals the question is what to do with them, the struggle is real lol 😂😂ive taken hoarding to a whole new level.😂😂

Ooh, now I need to go organize my ephemera and make some envelope pockets! Love how you decorated those up. Great tips! Thank you, Tina ❤️
Thank you so much, have fun with yours xx
I look forward to all your videos x
Exactly how I feel!! I have nothing - being a newbie. Thanx for sharing ❤

Excellent instruction, and I need to follow your advice! Your tag challenge really helped me out, now we need a pocket challenge. 😂
Love your videos. I also colour my book pages if they not old. Thanks again for all your help.
Tina your video has inspired me so much. Thank you so much. I have been in a lull. Thanks. 😊
Thank you so much, I am really thrilled that this was helpful xx
Thanks for the info, I'm not new to JJ but I found useful tips that I have forgotten
I definitely am in the "make one journal at a time headspace. This was such a great video to watch to get me out of that! Thank you.

A great thing to use also are junk mail envelopes. They come in many shapes and sizes. Window envelopes are fun to use
Love these Tina. I’m inspired to ‘pick a pocket’ 😂 and get going. I love the way you make everything look so easy. ❤
I enjoy making ephemera almost as much as making junk journals. I like to do some in neutral colors so it can easily be used in any theme or color🩷
I enjoy your videos and I want to have make aheads too.Quote: “The legacy of kindness echoes in eternity.” -Unknown. Huge HUGS and kind thoughts. Namaste 🐞🐞🐞
Gift wrap paper and tissue paper are great too! Thanks for the ideas Tina.
