@@PattyBab There's a few lines that talk about what happens in the finale. 1) Tai says it right from the get go in the pilot how they want to "freeze her out" regarding Allie. 2) Jackie says the water is cold the first time they get to the lake. 3) Jackie complains she's cold (I think in 105?) when Shauna is trying to rouse her out of bed one morning while everyone else is already up and doing chores. If I remember right, Jackie is facing towards the door at the start of the scene, which is the same position she's in during the finale. 4) Tai repeats a line about being cold in episode 107: "It won't be 'Oh I should grab my jacket' cold, but 'Dying feels like falling asleep' cold."
I’m not sure how long it took me to realize that Jeff’s actor plays Shelby’s dad in the Wilds. Apparently this guy has the type casting of the white guy in wilderness dramas with gay girls! 😆
16:55 this is one of the main things i love about jackie! she is presented by the show as self absorbed and the basic “mean” popular girl, but she’s never actually mean to anyone other than nat, who jackie clearly envies for nats ability to not care about what others think, and so she’s mean as a defense mechanism because she’s insecure. the thing i love about this scene though, is that she’s really got no idea what she did to nat by telling travis that- she’s literally just clueless and says what she wants without thinking. she’s not mean, she’s just insecure and unaware of other people’s feelings
I dunno, she was deliberately slut-shaming Nat behind her back "Her standards are low" and naming loser guys she has slept with just to make herself seem better than Nat. That is classic Mean Girl behavior. Tear others down to lift themselves up. Also outing Shauna's pregnancy to everyone because she had read the diary and knew it was Jeff's. She wanted to shame Shauna as publicly as possible. Also re-watch the scene where they are working to get the plane ready and Shauna asks Jackie why she did it. Jackie is clearly getting pleasure from Shauna's embarrassment and discomfort.
Jackie isn't consciously malicious (90% of the time), but I wouldn't say she's unaware of other people's feelings. She's an emotionally dependent, insecure teen (who's growing quite depressed too), and therefore can't afford to selflessly care about other people's feelings. But she does perceive them. Her codependent relationship with Shauna is "a coping mechanism" in a sense: dismissing Shauna's opinions and boundaries, as if Shauna were below her, to make up for her own lack of identity and self-esteem. But it's still mean. It's a power dynamic / pattern which can't exist if you're unaware of the other person's feelings. She was aware Shauna felt guilty for voting to go seek the lake, that she was distancing herself (after the pregnancy realization), that she was concerned Jackie wasn't adapting well to their new surroundings. And her first reaction is always to find ways to make Shauna feel inappropriate / humiliated / more guilty, just so it'll soothe her own insecurities: it's pretty mean. (I'm not saying Shauna was blameless in the development of that dynamic or in other aspects, just focusing on Jackie here). And overall, Jackie never apologizes to anyone. Even when it's 100% obvious to her she hurt some feelings, like with Shauna, Nat or with Van (after leaving her in the plane). She only somewhat makes amends when it can benefit her, never to soothe the person's feelings (unless it's Shauna, whose support and love she deeply depends on, and whom she loves). I'm not saying she's a bad person. Considering her parents, the fact that she's literally 17 and is stranded in a forest without any of her usual bearings, I'm empathetic. But it's not that she's unaware of other people's feelings or needs, it's that she doesn't really care unless they threaten/benefit her in some way.

I love her! I didn’t realize people don’t like her? she’s a hormonal teenager who helplessly watches her parents go through a little marriage crisis, cheating and trust issues. Of course she’s going to act up a little. I love that she’s so protective of shauna and gave her the nudge to check adam out!
I don't like Callie but I understand her. Her dad completely fails at setting boundaries/establishing discipline and spends most of his time at work. And her mom is a psychopathic, cannibalistic, emotionally-stunted manipulator. Callie never stood a chance.

GOD shes so complex it hurts so good
