and another one! literally traumatizing. who will join me on a quest to steal sophie nélisse's emmy from the emmy headquarters? I had massive technical issues with this video and tried sooo many times to get the project files to work smoothly over the course of a whole month, but they never cooperated, so especially towards the end it gets kinda rough with audio cuts and it doesn't look all that in sync. I'm so sowwyyy ): (also want to point out these reactions were recorded during a heatwave in summer (hence the tanktop and red face) so the starbucks cup is from that time. you won't catch me drinking from one of those in the future. 🍉🍉🍉!)
hearing your dead best friends voice calling out to you in your head when you pass out giving birth and that sort of being what helps bring you back is well Um. very straight bff things im sure
Honestly such a funny moment that misty tells them about crystal and they barely gaf but then lottie and van realize tai and shauna are still out there and they move like the flash...
It's so interesting how the characters who are between life and death go through some sort of "purgatory" (jackie in 1x10, lottie in 2x04, and shauna with her son in 2x06), and die when they eat/drink something in there. The "people" they see in their death sequences either want them to drink/eat, either don't. We can interpret that as a portrayal of character's wishes/fears OR as the wilderness' will. Tai being mad at Shauna because the baby's crying, or Natalie already condemning him to death in front of her: it can be interpreted as the Wilderness trying to push Shauna into feeding her baby more insistently (= killing him, feeding "it"). And "Natalie" giving Shauna tea after Shauna keeps "failing" to feed him is the Wilderness deciding to take the mother, not the baby. So Shauna.... killed her son by breastfeeding him. And being so relieved and awed when seeing him finally eat is what distracted her from drinking the tea. It saved her life. Just heartbreaking.
omg I didn't even connect that she had been offered tea and that the baby "ate" in the dream sequence. I really think all those food/drink moments in those visions can't be just a weird coincidence, there is something brewing! thanks for pointing it out so eloquently!
So much of this show seems to call upon Greek/Roman mythology. I almost dismissed the theory that if they eat in the "purgatory" realm then they die. But then I started seeing the mythology parallels and it made sense. In Greek mythology, if you eat in the underworld, you are bound to it and cannot escape.
Honestly i have sooo many thoughts about shaunas dream sequence and what it says about her mental state... one of my favorite moments of s2. An unsuppressed look at both her wants and her fears.
Patty, I actually love your reactions. It's the way you analyse the tiniest details that nobody else would even notice. Surely you have studied film in the past? If not, I am SO impressed.
I've been rewatching your yellow jackets reactions (for like the 4th time lol) and honestly you're just so wonderful with your commentary reactions and predicting shit :D I love your channel
awww thanks so much! I'm almost done with my apprenticeship (2 months left!), then I'll get back to reacting and hopefully we'll get yellowjackets season 3 soon!
I love how the camera pans away from shauna at the end... like its too painful it has to look away.. important moment the writers snuck in that i think you missed. at the 4 minute mark - they're quizzing Javi about where he was... then it cuts to Natalie and in the background you hear akilah says "Hey javi where did you find that queen card?" so Javi brought the queen of hearts back with him from his hiding spot.
I just finished episode 6. I’m sort of the opposite of you, I think everything that’s happened can have a logical explanation (Javi definitely still confuses me though.) I think “it/the wilderness” is their collective trauma. None of them have dealt with it properly, Shauna and Tai especially. It’s been 25 years and their past is still haunting them. I think it’s a great look at how humans have always found ways to cope and find explanations for the horrible and seemingly inexplicable things we go through.
Ehhh...it got everyone back together. It's similar to how we needed episodes around Adam so it meant something when Shauna actually killed him. Though, I know that wasn't everyone's favorite storyline, either.
sorry, genuinely forgot to post, cause my mom had surgery, my sister and dad came down with covid and I worked 14 hours of overtime in 8 days. I will post once I actually have time to sit down and breathe. ok?
@@PattyBab I am so sorry Patty! My dumbass forgot youtubers were actual people with real lives 😭 Can you maybe set a scedule or update us so we know what to expect?

her baby was still born and probably always was, I mean she’s been starving.
Lottie Mathews, the father Jeff could never be.
daddy's home.
I CAN HEAR THE EDIT@@PattyBab
The way Van reacts at seeing Lottie is... i have no words for it tbh, like... i don't think SHE has words to descibe how she's feeling in that moment.
