My theory on Javi is as follows : I think Bad Tai is his "friend" who helped Javi. And that her sleepwalking correlated with meeting up with him at the spots of the symbols around the forest. Which is why every night, she was going towards the trees with symbols marked in. Now, that he is back, she has stopped sleepwalking. I know the man with no eyes stems from her childhood - but - perhaps her brain was seeing Javi as the man with no eyes during this period of time when he was missing. Perhaps the melted snow is where they started a fire, or there is underground hot springs to keep him warm. Maybe the symbols were originally there to mark where mines were. This theory mirrors Adult Taissa's story with Sammy. Sammy was basically frightened into silence from her in s1. Also, during the period of time when Van started following Tai, Javi was making himself more "known" during that period, like the bear meat was missing so he had to directly steal from the group instead of getting help from Tai during that time and the "boy poop" in the poop bucket. Then out of desperation, as it has now been multiple days of not being able to see Tai as Van begins to follow, he ends up getting caught by Van and Tai. Edit: Something in me is saying this a more grounded character drama about ptsd and trauma, but I would be interested in seeing light paranormal or supernatural elements but I also think that could be a slippery slope as well. A huge part of the show is in the mystery of it all. Also - Straight up you are the first person to mention that Akilah said that about the queen card. I am shook about that.
Yup! We are on the same page with all of that (with the possible exception of the "boy poop" bit LOL). There are both old and new symbols carved into the trees and they seem like markers for mines/hot springs/natural gas pockets or something like that. The first one I remember seeing was by the plane just after the crash. It had been there a while as it was not fresh. The symbol itself could be a map of locations for the same? The original cabin guy might've been a land surveyor or just someone who learned that because he was a scout as a kid?
Love the theory about the *other* Tai being Javi's friend and once he is found she stops sleepwalking. This is where I diverge just a tiny bit cuz I keep thinking about what one of the *new* girls said ( she's not really new but I don't think she spoke in season 1, lol) "Maybe Javi DID die and that's his ghost", this combined with Nat's vision of the entire team dying in the plane crash makes me think there's more to it. Someone suggested that the team also died but the AQ spirit revived them to help Shauna deliver this baby ... To "give" to the wilderness. The blood sacrifices are becoming much more prevalent. Now, as you stated, it could just be PTSD making them THINK that the blood sacrifices are doing anything ... and if that's the case I can definitely see why they begin to believe in the "spirit of the Wilderness," or whatever it is 😄. When Lottie was possessed during the seance she looked right at Shauna and said "it wants what's inside of you" ... remembering that gave me chills. Also, seeing Nat with the Antler headdress is solidifying my belief that the AQ is an entity that possesses different girls at different times. We haven't seen Shauna with the Antlers but, in Doomcoming, we saw her with the weird blacked out eyes, sharp teeth and telling Javi to "run" in that weird demonic voice. Akeelah and the "queen card" question left me breathless. I absolutely did not hear that on my first watch 😳😄
Also; Tai seeing Javi as the man with no eyes makes even more sense if he is actually dead and the man with no eyes is like, "the entity of death" (channeling the spirit of Tai's grandma, first. Then, the guy in the cabin. And now, Javi 😳😱)
I have 2 problem with this theory (it used to be my theory too tho FTR) the first is the most obvious: Javi ran from Taissa and Van. I have a bit of trouble imagining that he's deeply frightened of her waking persona, runs on sight, and best friends with her sleepwalking persona, guiding her around in the dark. The second issue is that Van has been following Tai around but has never run into Javi? It just doesn't make emotional/psychological sense to me, he wouldn't separate the sleepwalking personality and waking personality the way we do as viewers, very few have seen as much of all that as we have. Plus, van strikes me as very odd for not being scared AF of Sleep-Tai, and Javi doesnt strike me as that type of odd lol, shaunas like "BICH, RUN!" one time and he leaves lol.
@@MantasticHams I mean, that could absolutely be the case, lol, they leave just enough room to be like "nahhhh. It can't be that". I remember saying that when my son said Tai was the lady in the tree in season 1. 😄 I remember saying " this lady is running for Senator. She is not climbing trees and scaring her child at night" 🤣 oopps
During the bowling alley bet the undercover officer says "Did you just hustle me?" to Callie which is what Adam said to Shawna when she won the mini-golf bet in season 1. I wonder if (as a parallel between mother and daughter) Callie will be the one to "end" the officer.
@@DaisyChain808 he wasn’t technically dating her though and nothing happened that would ruin him. Lol Callie is cold though so she could lie and burn him, she is Shauna’s offspring after all
Another FANTASTIC video!!!!! Well done. My theory for this week: Adult Van is sick. When Tai finds the Oxycodone and confronts Van about it (by the way, how obnoxious is Tai showing up out of nowhere and giving Van a hard time about what is in her medicine cabinet?), Van says it was her mom's prescription. However, I think it is Van's prescription. Her appetite seems poor; she doesn't finish her donut. She tosses all her bills in the garbage. She fishes the pills out of the trash and takes the Oxycodone. She states, ostensibly about her mother, that "People reassess their choices when they know they’re going to die". She looks longingly and emotionally at a wedding video. She seems sick to me. Especially as we already have an addiction narrative with Natalie.
taking meds like that can give you a poor appetite same with any hard core drugs. tai asking about it tells me she had a reason to wonder about it like maybe she was abusing substances when they got back from the wilderness. her finances could be poor because of a drug addiction, and i don’t think it’s really out of the realm of possibility to have multiple characters struggling with substances when they’re dealing with trauma which is like the number one cause for substance use…I think it makes most sense for nat to use like recreational drugs like coke when we already saw her use drugs and drink as a teen, and Van’s to be from physical pain and injuries she’s suffered from in the wild like I can definitely see her having permanent damage to her face from it not healing properly, that kind of thing…and i think the video is probably her mom or sister (idk why Tai wouldn’t have recognized them tho) and she probably did lose her mom…that being said I do think you might be right lol I think it’s possible can lost her mom and then found out she herself was sick? idk tho lol
@@brynniefresh9746 you both are so right. plus, from season one we see van slap her mom awake to get her keys - she could for sure have a family history of drug abuse which would make her potential struggle even more likely.
@@brynniefresh9746 Yeah, I thought it could also truly be her mom's meds and she is just self-medicating. But there is a nihilism to Van's affect that just seems more to me like she is sick rather than addicted. Could go either way. We'll find out!!!
I wholeheartedly agree with you. There is more than one Queen, and the Queens do change. Jackie was the first so-called queen until Lottie dethroned Jackie in Season 1 - Lottie to Jackie "You are not needed anymore" - Lottie to Jackie (Season 1 Doomcoming). Then there is Taiissa (Her alter ego), Queen 2; Then I believe Nat (White Caribou (Stag - A tremendous change is coming): Nat's comment to Travis, "You know there are no Queens in that deck"(of cards) - Season 1. Lottie mentions this season that when a new Queen is born, she has to kill all of the other Queens, or they all will starve-four queens in a deck of cards. Courtney Eaton - Young Lottie Interview w/TV Insider posted on 04/22/2023 Confirmed another timeline and the possibility of the “Antler Queen” being another person that survived and has not yet been delved into yet. I have so many theories. Thanks for your recap and review I miss you so much when you're not here, you are so good. Thanks for your time.
What’s crazy is it’s not even her theory, she got it from the same places you have. She’s just not citing it and saying she came up with it on her own 🙃
I think everyone wants us to believe Lottie is the crazy one but all I’ve seen her try to do is tame the darkness she may turn out to be the most sane of them all
Hey, recovering addict here. I just wanted to lend some insight into Nat's drug use/overdose. Unless they specified it was cocaine somewhere (I totally may have missed it if it was explicitly mentioned, if anyone knows please leave a reply!), the white powder that was shown may have been crushed-up opiate medication rather than cocaine. Also, as far as I know (again, if I'm wrong I invite anyone to correct me), if an overdose is reported and the EMTs have any suspicion that opiates were involved, they'll give the patient a dose of narcan just in case. It's also possible the writers didn't put much thought into exactly what drug(s) she was taking or wanted it to be ambiguous, but they seem to be pretty detail-oriented so idk.
It could also be both. One stimulant, one depressant. When people use drugs regularly, they often balance up and down. The "speedball" is literally cocaine and heroin so you get both the up and the down. But nowadays, fentanyl gets put in cocaine, too, to stretch it out and make more money off it, and people die.
in season one nat did explicitly use cocaine so i think we all assumed that was her drug of choice…it’s just a little messy how they portrayed it coz we can make assumptions but it’s just confusing…also they had like a pretty large pile of that powder and those lines were thicc is that a normal amount of opiates to take? like snorting it in that amount seems like asking for an overdose 😅
Addiction nurse here. Could have also been cocaine cut with fentanyl. If the dealer used the same tool to handle both drugs, enough cross contamination could happen to cause an overdose in someone with no tolerance. Natalie and Travis would have thought that were doing pure coke until she OD'd. The DEA released a report about a problem with cocaine cut with fentanyl in Florida in 2016-2017 and you can find it easily online if you're interested in learning more. It's extremely dangerous. It's unlikely the show runners would make a mistake with the Narcan. I actually think it's foreshadowing Van possibly overdosing later.
they do state that it's coke in season 1. i think it's pretty clear they were both using coke and alcohol. my guess is basically exactly what you stated about the EMTs. unless Travis specifically stated 'we were drinking and doing cocaine,' and even then, because this 2021, we know that a lot of people using cocaine were dying of fentanyl because of what is assumed to be cross contamination. i believe that in present day, even if they are told it's cocaine or stimulants they apply a shot of narcan just in case especially since it has no reverse side effects given to someone not on opiates. also a recovering addict, thank god i got out before fent became rampant. congrats on yr recovery!
Correct. If they suspect opiates even for a moment, they’ll bust out the Narcan. Better safe than sorry. Also, Natalie said at some point (at least, it is written in the Pilot Script) that she has, at some point or another, habitually done essentially every drug under the sun.
My theory about the baby is that he'll be born healthy, but Shauna is going to have complications (we do see a clip of Shuna looking gray and bleeding out). So everyone asks Lottie to save her, and in order to do that she sacrifices the baby. And that's how everyone get on Lottie's side without questioning her anymore. And yes, Sophie Nelisse spoiled in an interview (with Melanie) that they do use the Queen card to pick the next sacrifice. Oh, and I do believe also, the girl being carried on the stake is Crystal. They'll run out of food soon enough and Misty will show them where she is. And since she was frozen too (like Jackie), they'll eat her the same. But I think Coach Ben will refuse to participate on that too
imma just say that every single person who gives birth loses quite a bit of blood…that’s a given, there’s no way around it…so as someone who has witnessed births and knows about it I didn’t get concerned just from them showing blood coz that’s actually normal…that being said it could definitely go south cause there’s no medical professionals and also it’s a tv show so if they’re showing it it does probably mean something is going wrong…i really don’t think the baby will make it out of the woods and i somewhat like this theory at least it would make sense and is interesting. I mean if Lottie saves Shauna that definitely clears up why some of them are following her so blindly…I agree that the person they’re gonna cook is Crystal just coz they’ve still got like half their wilderness time left so I don’t think they’d kill off a bunch of characters for no reason and they can amp up the stakes later on as we’ve seen they actually do murder people FOR food…but crystal died where they usually dispose of ‘waste’ so i feel like they could have noticed her there even with the snow covering her it’d be obvious there’s a huge snow lump and someone missing after she was headed there…Misty could show them too but then Misty wouldn’t be able to play that she had no idea what happened which I don’t think she’d do
I agree with the Podcast guys at Bald Move. That Baby will be born and shoot straight into a Crock Pot. Have the cord cut and be dinner. (TIC) of course.
@@brynniefresh9746 that’s all the theories the fans were writing about and i guess she got tired of it and was like “ok spoiler alert: wilderness baby does not get eaten” haha
Maybe Nat's vision and saying "we didn't make it" was what was supposed to happen, but the Antler Queen or this spirit of the wilderness spared the girls for some mysterious purpose. Seeing their burned bodies in the plane is almost like an alternate timeline. I don't think this necessarily means that the Antler Queen we see in the sacrifice scenes isn't one of the girls, because they could be channeling her by dressing like that or the spirit could even be possessing them (hence Nat's black eyes). Then Javi's friend could be the Antler Queen - she gave him the Queen card basically asking for sacrifices.
you should totally make a separate video regarding theories on the final survivor. maybe not now, i'm not sure we have enough information, but i'm just so stumped and it'd be so entertaining to discuss it! rooting for akilah, poor girl doesn't deserve any of this and i think it'd make sense why we haven't seen her in in present day considering she seems more empathetic and guilty than the rest of the ruthless girls (i.e shauna killing rabbits, "bad" tai, etc) i mean, she kept the mouse alive instead of killing it or shooing it into the snow.
there’s a video i saw where there’s yearbook entries for each of the yellowjackets (and this is an official thing that the creators made) and there’s a weird comment on mari’s that said her superlative was something like ‘most likely to ask you to join an mlm’ which kind of makes me and the person who made that video think Mari might actually be alive cause that’s a weirdly specific thing compared to the other ones…i hope akilah is alive i don’t want it to be mari but i can see them doing it for the drama coz I’m sure they know how much we hate mari
Great spotting the Javi and Queen Card!!! Also I love how you go frame by frame and caught the converse and how they tie to Mellisa. I agree and think the AQ gets passes around. I'm thinking maybe the map comes back up and that is how they get rescued. Maybe Nat keeps going pass the 7 miles radius and find civilisation like in Alive.
that was my thought too when she mentioned someone walking until they found civilization…maybe even nat and someone else who ends up dying but she keeps going (coz I’m alive it’s two people) also might be why potentially nat doesn’t get indoctrinated into the cult like while pit girl shit happens maybe nat is trying to find help
Theory re: the Queen Card- Mari is loading the deck to give Misty/Crystal the poop disposal. Mari seems to be the one that has taken the greatest offense to Misty drugging them, although Mari herself unknowingly had a hand in that. As revenge/hazing of the ones that everybody else is annoyed by, Mari works it so Misty always draws taking out the poop. In long game revenge, we know Misty can bide her time getting back at someone, down the line Misty will work it so Mari will draw the Queen with the eyes blacked out, which would match 2 theories: that it's a death card and that Mari is the Pit Girl from the first scene of the pilot. Could be the reason for the wide smile on Misty's face after revealing herself after the ritual eating of the Pit Girl.
I agree. Lol, I have been wondering why this hasn't been more of a thread, lol. Like, we SEE her clearly letting her friends see the cards they're picking; she ALWAYS gets the cooking chores? Misty ALWAYS gets the 💩 bucket-duty? I think Misty is just waiting for her opportunity to bring Mari down. We saw how fast she snitched on Jackie for not "praying to the dirt for the Bear" 😄
@@christinerobbins9376 I think snitching on Jackie was an attempt to get the heat off of her for the drugging & put it someone else (which worked) & also to isolate someone like I’m sure she had isolated by her peers many times before. Mari seems Lottie’s most fervent believer at this point which I imagine will just continue to grow. Getting Mari to pull the death card could be a two-fold revenge (which if she finds out Mari made her draw the 2 that she can twist it to Mari is really responsible for Crystal’s death & not her) & to eliminate a rival in the Woods Cult pecking order.
@@bucklesisfake oh, I totally agree about Misty needing to "redirect" the group's animosity off of herself. And Mari being Lottie's biggest cheerleader makes me super curious as to how she (may) become pit-girl. I'm sensing some of Mari's petty head-games come back to bite her in a big way!
I totally think misty took the gloves but with everyone to witness it. It makes her look more innocent. Theory1: I think everyone was deprived of food and Misty knew exactly where they could find Crystals frozen body. I think everyone was desperate for food and as a last resort misty indirectly guided them to Crystals body to save the day. When everyone got there, Misty took the gloves for a BFF keepsake. Unbeknownst to the group, she subconsciously kept an keepsake from her first kill. Which is totally serial killer. Theory 2: Knowing where the body is, she indirectly guided them to Crystals body while helping everyone search for her. They found her body, retrieved her remains and decided to give her a proper burial. Misty kept the gloves maybe recommended by the group, similar to Jacky and Shauna and the jacket situation. Speaking of: How did Shauna end up with Jackies letterman Jacket in the first season if they left it in her remains and ate it?
My theory is that Lottie is Javi's "friend" and told him to stay away. Like the older man in Ben's book The Magus, Lottie is the psychological manipulator. I think that even Ben was pondering this as he read the book, so I liked that Javi told him that. Ben is going to figure out some things and maybe die as a result. Lottie knew Javi was alive because I believe SHE was hiding him. The first time we see moss in the snow around a tree root is at Lottie's altar/stump where she made the bear heart sacrifice. The dream she had where she went down a shaft and into a mall underground is likely based in some fact. Lottie probably investigated the source of the melting snow and moss and found tunnels/mines and Javi, who was hiding there! If they exist those mines may reveal some means for their rescue which she doesn't want found. Lottie is mentally ill. She is a very charismatic individual who feels her purpose in life is leading and helping people, despite awareness of her own deadly history, institutionalization and her capacity to repeat it. She will sacrifice others before she sacrifices what she feels is her purpose. In the wilderness I think that the others were suffering from a collective mental state of insanity and groupthink (as in Lord of the Flies). This is apparently resurfacing some 25 yrs later as none of them have dealt with their issues properly. Also, I don't think its a coincidence that they're all converging on Camp Lottie after all this time. I believe that she has directly and indirectly triggered their need to return to her.
Dang. I think you might be onto something here. Lottie’s dad didn’t think she had a gift. He saw schizophrenia and wanted her medicated and/or institutionalized. He didn’t think it was safe to be giving credence to her “visions.” My dad is schizophrenic. I understand. I can’t imagine how awful it must feel for the person with schizophrenia, but it is what it is. So when they crashed, maybe Lottie - frightened as she was and unsure of herself as she was - began to believe her delusions so strongly that she did actually begin to want people to rely on her and believe in her. She believes it, so why wouldn’t she want others to do the same? It feels better to her in those moments than it does to be ridiculed, feeling ashamed of having to take medication, overhearing her dad say things that feel hurtful about her… We are made to focus on Misty being the one who wants to keep them there. Maybe Misty is a red herring.
@@thoseradstars So sorry to hear about your father. Hopefully its being managed and he's happy. Yes, I think that Lottie and Misty are both guilty of keeping there longer than they needed to be. Regarding Lottie, I'm not averse to the idea that she MAY have some level of clairvoyant/sensory ability but I absolutely believe that she is schizophrenic and very dangerous. I'm working on some theories as to how she's possibly manipulated their lives for them to return to her in the next episode.
The show runners mentioned warring factions, what if the factions are two separate entities representing light and dark, or the sun and wind like that old fairy tale? Also Plato is mentioned several times and in s1e2 Laura Lee mentioned one of the girls that died in the crash was good at trigonometry, maybe pointing to the fact that the people who died in the crash were worthy of an ending to their suffering and admitted to some elitist afterlife but the ones who lived still had to prove their worth, or the exact opposite if it’s a Valhalla situation and the ones that lived were the potential warriors that were given some kind of reward of life? Not sure I could be way off, but I love theorizing about this show, great video thanks for making them! 😀
I’m thinking every time we see blood spilt a major event happens. In this episode it’s when Misty does CPR and we see Crystals blood that Shauna goes into labor. We saw Shaunas nose bleed and the birds fell from the sky. Lottie offering blood sacrifices to try and feed whatever it is around them that is supernatural. Natalie cuts herself and we have the Jackie feast . This is off the top of my head but I notice it every time.
I love spotting the Easter eggs, and I think that Van has a Sunset Boulevard poster upstairs and down. When the customer comes in talking about Parker Posey, Norma Desmond’s face looks practically like a label (somehow!) for Van. Norma was living in the past. That ties in with Van basing her life off the nostalgia for the 90s. PS While You Were Streaming is a clever name for her store, as well as a callback to her retelling of While You Were Sleeping.
This is an excerpt about Narcan.. It is sometimes used in coke ods bc of the things that can be cut into it, like fentanyl. Naloxone, for example Narcan®, is a medicine that can help people who are overdosing on an opioid. Opioids include prescription medications, heroin, and fentanyl. Sometimes other drugs, including cocaine and methamphetamine, are mixed, or laced with fentanyl. I think Shauna will say the condom smelled like strawberries bc they used strawberry lube. I'm still convinced when it comes down to it Kevin will side with the girls and cover for them bc he still lives Nat.
the reason why they use narcan for something like that is bc it is very likely not just what is on your shirt; mixed or including fen-t so to be sure they always use that first no matter the substance taken was (my friend works at an emergency shelter and has to use narcan like 10/15 times a day sadly)
Maybe the AQ is like someone being honoured, before they get hunted. Hunger Games style kind of, like "you're next to go, so we're going to dress you in our most lavish fit and feed you well in this last supper." So in the hypnotism scene, it'd explain why Lottie looks so terrified to see that shadow - she's drawn the card, now sees the antlers over her head, that's terrifying to her. My only thing on that is there was a cast interview after season 1 (wayy before season 2) where they were discussing fan theories, and Sammi Hanratty said about an AQ theory "I know who the Antler Queen is".
@Ash Silver As I wait with bated breath for the next episode release, I had a random thought/question and wanted to share. What about Javi and Travis's dad's ring that Nat cut off the father's cold dead buried hand? Where is it? Is Javi still wearing it? Is he still in possession of it? Re-watching the latest episode to see if I can spot Javi's hands. Thanks for listening. Del out!!
Javi is most likely the no eyed man that tai sees in her dreams. That figure is slender and looks like javi and it makes sense that they have met several times and now he’s back in camp, tai no longer has these dreams
Re: administering Narcan for Nat's overdose: I work in harm redux and see 2 possibilities. Opioids can be snorted, and if you don't have intravenous supplies to administer it then crushing the pills and snorting is a way to get the high faster. Also, almost all drugs are being cut with fentanyl right now in the US (thanks drug war!) so even if you're just taking coca-cola 😉 you could end up having an opioid overdose. There are different reactions between these types of overdoses, so the paramedics would have recognized the signs of opioid overdose and administered it no matter what she took. Just thought I'd chime in with that info since I know about it!
In s1 during the ritual scene we see 7 people sitting down, while Misty stands up serving the food (we only know it is her because we later see her remove her mask which none of the 7 sitting down are wearing that mask) and we know that this was the last ritual before they were saved and in s2 when we see the girls get swarmed by paparazzi after they're saved, there is a glimpse of another survivor.
I don't think Javi's friend is the other Tai simply because she said that her sleepwalking stopped since she started going to lottie's prayer circles and Van seems to accompany Tai whenever she sleep walks. It seems like whatever supernatural presence is out there wants the girls to descend into madness if we are to be believed that it was behind the doomcoming hysteria and the snow perfectly cooking Jackie. I think whatever supernatural presence is out there is somehow Javi's friend and gave him the queen card which will be used to draw the next sacrifice. I think that also ties into one of my other theories about adult lottie. She seemed to do the blood sacrifice at her compound after seeing the queen card in her vision. Then she said something along the lines of "let this be enough" as if the queen card somehow represents sacrifice, and possibly the need for a human sacrifice. Also crazy theory here but Melanie Lynskey said in an interview recently that something REALLY upsetting happens in the last three episodes and I almost wonder if someone is sacrificed in the present to appease the supernatural presence as a result of lottie having seen the queen card, and it possibly happening now that all the Yellowjackets are at the compound as if they kind of revert back to their forest days.
I actually haven't seen anyone talking about the possibility that the present -day women do something so dark, but I'm with you. They are definitely laying the groundwork for something big to happen.
U very well might be right on the narcan thing, but i kind of got the impression that Nat was less of a one-drug person and more of a "put the drugs in my mouth" type lol. Perhaps I'm way off, but my impression was she'd take any substance that made her feeling something other than normal, she may have had a strong preference for coke, but I could easily see her taking just about whatever was around, especially if she was feeling self destructive.
Feeding of a suggestion I saw on another video, I now believe there is a malevolent spirit called a Wendigo possessing the girls. Some aboriginal tribes believe the Wendigo is a malevolent, cannibalistic supernatural being, strongly associated with north, cold, famine and starvation. They are gluttonous and insatiable, always wanting more flesh. Those who fall under its possessive influence commit murder and cannibalize. It is often depicted as a very tall, gaunt, emaciated figure with antlers on it's head (who was once human). The Wendigo is also used to represent what happens to humans when they become overpowered by greed.
Thanks Ash - I am a bit late to watch this week. Wow thanks for all your theories - I too watch with the subtitles on for everything! It’s amazing what you pick up on. I love the way you pull it all apart and do so much thinking. I find it hard to keep it all straight. Who the friend is will be interesting indeed. I am also awaiting who will be survivor 8. I am wondering if the antler queen is their trauma response to not owning their behaviour and all that happened. Thanks again for all you do. It’s been a great week for WLW - with visibility week and how good was the L Word White House visit! Thanks again for all you do and the enormous amount of time and commitment to all your work that we all enjoy. Cheers.
i believe that because of fentanyl and other synthetic opiates like it, in present day, even if they are told it's cocaine or stimulants they apply a shot of narcan just in case especially since it has no reverse side effects given to someone not on opiates.
I completely agree about antler queen being a representation of their collective “darkness”. That would also explain all the different colored hair on her dress, it could represent a piece of each of them, rather than being stolen from the dead.
3:52 A lot of the time, different drugs can be cut with fentanyl, which narcan will be able to help. Also a white powder could mean a few things, one of them being Percocets (most of the time I’m pill form, but can be crushed and would look like what Nat and Travis may have been using
When they crashed, there was blood spilled within the perimeter of the symbol. Remember the trees Tai visits all create the symbol. So I guess this was their first offering to the wilderness. Idk where I was going with this . I just wanna know what woods want with them after 25yrs , wtf did they do in the wilderness, & who is pit girl
Impressive recap/prediction video as usual. Ash has such an amazing eye for detail! Does anyone remember what kind of shoes Krystal/Kristin was wearing when she fell because after that, I figured it was her they were carrying back to the cabin after the storm clears?? They are definitely wearing the same clothes when they are charging in the clip, but that might not necessarily mean they killed another survivor though, right?? I'm still leaning toward Ash's theory about there being underground methane pockets (or another type of gas, mineral and/or hot springs) accounting for the mossy dead tree stumps and possibly some of the strange behavior from members of the group. I really want there to be something supernatural going on, but the skeptic in me is still at a point where everything going on can be explained away by naturally occurring phenomenon and mental health issues. Either way, the show is fvcking fantastic and am enjoying it immensely!!
I am so torn if I want there to be supernatural elements or not. I think if they do it tastefully, I will like it, but I also am really enjoying a more grounded character study around complex ptsd and trauma.
@@amandaanstett6973 Exactly! I'm going to try to just go with it either way and as long as it doesn't turn into the same kind of hot mess as Lost, I'll be happy.
Crystals are white tennis shoes looks more like a cross training/hiking non name brand style. I made a whole post about it on Facebook etc. def not her feet on the stick
@@michellewinegardner973 Thanks for answering the shoe question. Her feet weren't visible in the clip where she went off the cliff so that's much appreciated! I was hoping no one else would need to die for a bit, but guess not. 😟
I dont think the antler queen is any of the yellowjackets or even a physical being. Its an idea, spirit or visible representation of the yellowjackets begin to envision as they mentally slip. When we do see the physical queen sitting with them at the fire during the side flashes its either a statue the girls built to worship or just their imagination of the “queen” walking among them as they grow more wild or “1 with nature”. So its more of a day dream they have or a coping mechanism during a mental slip as they attempt rationalize the loss of morals and likely horrific death. But im also bias and really want the show to go down the lord of the flies rabbit hole
Random wild theory: coach is really hungry and eats the baby placenta. There is a short clip in a season 2 trailer of him inside the cabin with blood on his face and hand. I could be totally off with this though haha
You are so right about Narcan. I think this was a huge mistake to show that. I take heavy duty meds for crippling pain in NY State you must have Narcan at your home . Every month when I pick up my meds they make me sign that I in fact have it at home. It’s a bit of extra work but for someone who might need it it’s so important. But, cocaine no way your lucky if you get to a hospital in time. Good catch!
about Narcan & her doing Coke - in America it is increasingly common to have powders/uppers cross-contaminated with fentanyl. her od in the show looks like a fentanyl exposure, not a coke od. Either way, with opioid OD being so common in the states, Narcan is often the first response ...
I can't believe that people (mostly on Reddit) are taking the "we didn't make it" part literally as a "reveal". So dumb. Obviously it's meant figuratively/metaphorically and isn't some kind of big twist.
I think the 8th is Travis' child.. either conceived with Nat, as we saw activity they were engaged in when mother nature rang the dinner bell, serving up Jackie, despite all the emphasis placed on the protection that Ben provided & later put up for adoption or his child with Lottie, with activities we did not see but were alluded to & put up for adoption when she was in the institution... perhaps why Lottie said they had to find him & Jackie cuz "he didn't belong to her" & everyone thought she meant cuz of Nat but at the cabin she said it had nothing to do with Nat, which was odd. I also would not be surprised if that child put up for adoption turned out to be Lisa. Just a theory y'all! Lol
Pit girl at the start of season one - what if that is Crystal that never died but also found the “hiding spot” of Javi. Ben/Coach found some drawings that Javi had made after he was found again where there was a womanly figure within the weeds/plants across from the fire. What if Krystal never died, because when misty went back for her body, she couldn’t find it. The pit girl was also wearing short/summer sleepwear, which IMO says she did not sleep where the other girls, with full on winter gear, slept/stayed.
I looooved this show, then by the end of season 2- it started going downhill and boring… It just seized capturing my attention… I also watch everything with the subtitles on and love research- mainly due to my ADhD and hyperfuxation at times 😀(I think I’m good at it because I nitpick like you and I love you for that!)
The question Javi asked was, “Are we going to die out here?” The figure 8 was either, 8 will die or, “Yes and No” some will and some won’t. - I think it was a yes-and-no response.
Have you noticed Callie in the pictures at home… She's dressed in that purple color. (i've seen at least two with that specific purple color) We've already established she wasn't where Shauna thought she was for the last few months... the cop just came about recently.
Ash: I value your insights. The more I think about it, the more I am wondering: do you think Shauna could be pregnant with Adam's (or maybe Jeff's) baby? It's like a re-creation of the events that happened when they were in the woods and that would go along with the idea of the antler queen being back, or the fact that the darkness or whatever was out there followed them back (like Tai becoming the dark version of Tai again). It's kind of a stretch but there was this reference to Shauna having Jeff's baby out of "spite" (and Melanie L is looking a little bigger). What do you think?
She would not have OD’d like that on coke. Most addicts do both., though one may be their staple, they balance each other so there’s zero reason to assume it was coke. Also if by chance she did not intentionally ingest opiates, there are occasional (though nowhere near the level propagated online) of fentanyl being cut into coke. A quick check of her pupils would indicate a need for Narcan.
Yeah, I thought that was interesting myself with the Narcan, but if you watch that scene again, they make it sound like it was a “bad batch, “and I just thought of f-entanyl that would go hand-in-hand with using Narcan. But 🤷🏻♂️ sucks we have to wait 2 weeks to see episode 6 all I gotta say, is something dark either kept them alive or resurrected them from the actual crash so that when they go back into the world, they can spread the darkness like wildfire The show has got me hooked - I love it at first, I was just drawn to the fact that I had such a good cast but now I’m drawn to the fact that it’s such a good story having a good cast makes the story that much better - and in episode six, we get to see everybody coming to Lottie’s camp Like bees to a hive ---I heard this one dumb rumor that Mauri(aka pit girl !) girl might still be alive ( I hope not ) but I got a serious feeling that somebody is still alive that we have not seen Or we thought was dead just my opinion and I agree with your theory that the antler queen is not just one of them it’s all of them - (the dark entity making everything happen )that we have yet to see or explain w/some story to what the hell it is ( probably won’t get that for awhile )- 🤟
One of the cast mentioned an alternative timeline, I'm pretty convinced that in one timeline they all died but the AQ altered the timeline so some of them live. Some of them that she can convert to her worship to help her manifest (maybe she is trapped within the bounds of those symbols) and some of them to help convert the main 7 to her worship (aka the ones that they kill/hunt/eat). In the original timeline the coach stayed with his boyfriend and in the altered timeline he's getting glimpses of that other timeline. Maybe his presence in the plane is what allowed them to crash in a way so that some of them survived, like he said something or made a decision that led the pilots to slightly alter course from the original timeline? Maybe it was where he ended up sitting. I'm into chaos theory and am a big believer in the butterfly effect causing cascading changes to entire systems. I love this cast and the story so far is really good. I heard that Mari rumor too, I would be really surprised if they introduced another adult survivor this late in the story. Who knows, maybe they will. I would just be really surprised the Misty wouldn't have mentioned them until now.
@@henryheuerman1859 💯 Mari better be pit girl but who knows as we seen misty who is on top of everything- may have let one slip threw the cracks Remember, season one- when she found I think Travis “ she quotes boy “talk about someone who doesn’t want to be seen “ I think he’s not the only one ☝️ … 🤷🏻♂️….🤟
6:57 I took that as Nat going out to hunt but that would be interesting. If the show calls the antler queen the oracle that would be more of a fitting name for Lottie. I think back to Oracle from the Matrix.
I paused the video so maybe you mentioned this but I had a thought about the cards. We've seen the Queen of Hearts but will we see the other Queens? Maybe four of the girls will ultimately hold the place as the Oracle.
Why haven't anyone discussed what Bunker was that, when Lottie had the vision of the infected animal.. It's obvious that's all underneath the wilderness.. And that's why the animals are getting poisoned.. People should talk more about the bunker vision
Lottie keeps seeing underground bunkers maybe the hunter or someone has an underground system of dwellings and that’s where Javi was and what melted the snow
You know people snort heroin and fentanyl which in the present is a huge thing very much on point. Plus a lot of people are cross addicted or at least are open to several substances. I personally don't see the team making that narcan mistake. Even if they were using "coca-cola" paramedics will administer narcan in any OD situation as a precautionary measure. But I think your theories and videos are great. I just wanted to let you know about that tidbit.
My theory on Javi is as follows :
I think Bad Tai is his "friend" who helped Javi.
I'm rooting for Coach Ben to be the 8th survivor. I know it's unlikely, but I just want him to live :(
They are setting him up to lose his will.
I feel like he would need to be silenced as he didn't eat the meat.....
@@Urm0mz Not yet anyway 😳
I think he will be eaten. I don't see him making it back. And I feel like he knows this. It will be soon.
I'd love to see him get his will to live back and dig into whatever meat he can get, but I think he's no match to the girls.
During the bowling alley bet the undercover officer says "Did you just hustle me?" to Callie which is what Adam said to Shawna when she won the mini-golf bet in season 1. I wonder if (as a parallel between mother and daughter) Callie will be the one to "end" the officer.
Yooo that is dark but I like it
Lol why would she kill a detective? You’re reaching a bit
I hope she does that cop sucks ass
@@Seryma86 "ending him" could refer to the fact that he is an adult in law-enforcement dating a 16 year old high school girl....
@@quantumqueef oh shit you’re right! my assumption there was that her mom was an alcoholic so definitely
Thanks so much!
She’s just not citing it and saying she came up with it on her own 🙃
I think that wasn’t “diet coke” but H so narcan would still be appropriate probably.
That was my theory as well, I use to work in a recovery court program in my district.
I thought the same thing when I was watching.
It is H, or Fenty. Narcain does not work on diet coke.
There’s pills shown, I’m pretty sure they crushed them.
I was thinking - 0xy
Christina ricci said a spoiler alert in an interview that “wilderness baby does not get eaten”
@@sarahed1127 i got spoiled for the episode and i can confirm *tho i never thought they’d do that coz they joked about it too much*
@@brynniefresh9746 that’s all the theories the fans were writing about and i guess she got tired of it and was like “ok spoiler alert: wilderness baby does not get eaten” haha
I also think Javis friend is Tai, in doomcoming they mention how Tai looks like the trees
ooo good one!
And yesss ... Misty looked pretty satisfied with herself in the ritual we saw in season one 😄
This is legendary! Nice work!
Theory 2:
Knowing where the body is, she indirectly guided them to Crystals body while helping everyone search for her. They found her body, retrieved her remains and decided to give her a proper burial. Misty kept the gloves maybe recommended by the group, similar to Jacky and Shauna and the jacket situation.
Speaking of:
How did Shauna end up with Jackies letterman Jacket in the first season if they left it in her remains and ate it?
Was it her letterman jacket or was it her soccer uniform?
I think it was just her soccer uniform. I don't remember hearing about it letterman jacket
Ahhh Makes sense!
Perfectly said
It feels better to her in those moments than it does to be ridiculed, feeling ashamed of having to take medication, overhearing her dad say things that feel hurtful about her…
We are made to focus on Misty being the one who wants to keep them there.

Strawberry lube, that stuff is for goths and bisexuals 😂
I was waiting for your video! Can't wait to watch :)
Aww thank you, lovely to hear! Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoy ☺️
Yesss, I love that you shouted out You're Wrong About! Such a great podcast and I love their Andes crash episode.
the reason why they use narcan for something like that is bc it is very likely not just what is on your shirt; mixed or including fen-t so to be sure they always use that first no matter the substance taken was (my friend works at an emergency shelter and has to use narcan like 10/15 times a day sadly)
Sometimes coke is laced with fentanyl and narcan is used for that or opiate reversal
So funny you commented this right now as I’m literally editing a video that basically is this theory 😂 great minds think a like!
@@AshSilver ahh no way! I've never actually had a theory turn out right before so I can't wait to hear your insights! :D
Headcanon: Adult Van is the ultimate Bette stan. Because Bette reminds her of Tai.
Definitely. Van has a type.
Del out!!
I've been watching for this too @delceniaDamesTucker
I’m definitely leaning more towards all of them being the “Antler Queen” or this “darkness” being in them all. Atleast Nat, Tai and Lottie for sure.
Javi is most likely the no eyed man that tai sees in her dreams. That figure is slender and looks like javi and it makes sense that they have met several times and now he’s back in camp, tai no longer has these dreams
If Crystal comes back from the dead, we know it is supernatural
going out on a limb...I think Crystal/Kirsten is Misty's imaginary friend.
Just thought I'd chime in with that info since I know about it!
what if the Antler Queen is the next person to die so they give them a hero's farewell
Where did the idea of exactly 8 survivors come from? I missed it.
🤰🏻 Shauna is super big. Everybody is assuming a pregnancy results in one child. Is she going to have twins?🥸🥸😱
Well we know Shaunas daughter wasn’t born in the woods…. What happened to the newborn? Hold on cause we are about to find out!
Great recap!! Love the call backs and how you broke it down for the freeze frames! Holding onto what we got until the next one! 😭
Source: My mom was basically nat as a kid and my dad was a coke dealer :\
Awesome video, Ash! I always look forward to your Yellowjackets content!
Sophie N inadvertently confirmed in an interview that there’s a kill card a couple weeks ago
I believe Shauna, Taissa, Nat and Lottie were the antler queen at one point of the story. They get possessed or something of the sort.
Could the 8 also be kinda/sorta interpreted as "ate" ? - Javi: What will happen to us? - You will be 'ate'?
So glad someone else out there obsesses and picks this as much as I do. 😅
Ngl this was such a great review , will def tune in
Thanks Ash - I am a bit late to watch this week. Cheers.
Thanks Jennifer!
No new episode this week??? I've been waiting all week for nothing 😢
I know I’m so sad
Ash the best Yellowjackets coverage! 👍813
i believe that because of fentanyl and other synthetic opiates like it, in present day, even if they are told it's cocaine or stimulants they apply a shot of narcan just in case especially since it has no reverse side effects given to someone not on opiates.
5:42 the antler queen is reminding me of the pagan Beltane ritual.
Akilah drew an eight for her card in this episode I think, might not be anything but I remembered that when you were talking about the seance scene
Misty’s “gloves” were purpley too. Melissa usually has white adidas on.
oh shit, I didn't even notice the figure of a woman in the drawing of the roots
Yeaahhh, loved your theories 👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you Clara!
AMAZING insights as always. The Jennifer Beals/Flashdance poster was my favorite part of the episode (such a flashdance fan).
Thanks love ❤️
@@AshSilver I love the details you post in your reviews - you are clearly paying close attention and make it more enjoyable to watch.
@@alisachamoy225 thanks so much Alisa! Thanks for watching!
I’m thinking they are transporting Crystal’s body back…. To eat.
8 Survivors yes!
Hi just wanted to say thanks for the video!
I'll be back when there's more comments 😅
Thanks for watching!
I looooved this show, then by the end of season 2- it started going downhill and boring…
It just seized capturing my attention…
I also watch everything with the subtitles on and love research- mainly due to my ADhD and hyperfuxation at times 😀(I think I’m good at it because I nitpick like you and I love you for that!)
Some Native tribes buried their dead in trees, or at the base of trees.
holy shit i watch with subtitles and i never heard the queen card thing
The question Javi asked was, “Are we going to die out here?” The figure 8 was either, 8 will die or, “Yes and No” some will and some won’t. - I think it was a yes-and-no response.
Maybe the Antler Queen is the metaohorical paranormal energy taking over? Just a thought
Yea I thought I saw a spoon I thought it was H
I noticed the administering of Narcan to Nat to bring her back from a "Coca-Cola" overdose as a mistake, also. LOL!
6:57 I took that as Nat going out to hunt but that would be interesting. If the show calls the antler queen the oracle that would be more of a fitting name for Lottie. I think back to Oracle from the Matrix.
Regarding the Narcan : She could of gotten laced drugs. Someone close to me had laced Diet Coke and they used Narcan on them to bring them back.
I paused the video so maybe you mentioned this but I had a thought about the cards. We've seen the Queen of Hearts but will we see the other Queens? Maybe four of the girls will ultimately hold the place as the Oracle.
Wait, I lost it here, you said "we do know now that there are eight survivors" how do we know that? Was it said anywhere or is it a guess?
Why haven't anyone discussed what Bunker was that, when Lottie had the vision of the infected animal.. It's obvious that's all underneath the wilderness.. And that's why the animals are getting poisoned.. People should talk more about the bunker vision
WHAT IF THE 8TH PERSON IS SHAUNA'S BABY?!
Nat is tasked with sacrificing the baby because she is the hunter and deals with death.
No episode this Friday 4/28 😢
Crystal wasn't wearing those gloves. Her gloves were darker purple. Misty has had light purple gloves the entire season.
What if the antler Queen in NOT ONE OF THEM, perhaps Javis "friend"
Thanks
I heard the queen card I'm so excited I wasn't craY
most cola overdoses are the result of impure cutting, so it was probably cut with an op
0:38 tem uma "corda" atrás do javi que não consigo parar de olhar, imagino que vai ser o jeito que ele morre
For the Narcan bit - stuff these days can be laced with fentanyl
🥰🥰🥰🥰💗💗
you can also snort powdered H
The implication is that Nat's powder was cut with fentanyl.
I think the queen card means the group can hunt you
