    Best ornament video ever. Thank you so much!! I've made pot holders using this star idea, but this ornament is just beautiful. The extra embellishments make it really special.

I would love to join in! I would enjoy making an ”egg” shaped ornament. Do you offer a tutorial/kits on the ”egg” shape? THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!💐

    Hello I’m definitely going to make some of these ornaments. If I wanted to do a larger ball is there a formula to work out the size of the fabric squares. I’d like to do a larger ball for my nephews (a memory ball with a picture of them and their dad. He tragically died in January this year. I have his shirts and I was going to use the fabric from the shirts. Thank you

    Fabulous video!!!!! I would like to make these for gifts this year. If making for a small Christmas tree I would like to use a smaller ball....maybe 2.3 inches or 2.8 inches. Would that work and if yes would I cut the ribbon the same length???? 3 inches?

  • @georginacorrea9369

    Great ! Thank you for clarifying some points I was unable to find 3'' ball and got 3.8 balls kept trying and cutting fabrics and gave up Following the lines issues is essential but not easy How can you make sure the ornament ribbon holder does not separate?

    • @TheOrnamentGirl
      @TheOrnamentGirl  ปีที่แล้ว

      When I make by bows, I use one pin for each bow, that will help hold them in. When you add the hanger, you will also have all of the bows helping to hold it in as well. Unless the ornament is very heavy, the hanger will hold tight. I hope that helps!

    This makes a beautiful ball. I have been doing some that are similar, only my fabric pieces are 2 1/2” squares. I hope your pattern will work with my squares. I don’t have any extra fabric to use your strips. Love this pattern.

    • @TheOrnamentGirl
      @TheOrnamentGirl  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! It will still work.. the difference will be that when you fold the halves on each piece down to create your triangle, they won't reach as far. And so, you might have to put your wider layers a bit closer together to make up for this. Using squares is the original way of making these (like you mentioned) and so it will definitely still work! (But hopefully after you've used up your squares, you will try doing them with the rectangles!) :)

    • @susim7975
      @susim7975 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Ornament Girl ok thank you. Yes I am going to try using the rectangles. I did get more material in different colors so I can do them your way. I love the way yours look. They are different and super pretty.

    If I wanted to use a smaller ball, say a 2 inch ball, how would I adjust the size of the fabric pieces?

  • @rhondacarter9807
    @rhondacarter9807 ปีที่แล้ว

    quick question, just starting to watch the video so you may mentioned it and if so I apologize, doesn't using all those pins weaken the foam where if it got dropped it would shatter? I ask because I did a styrofoam wreath once adding the mesh with floral pins and it fell off the door and broke in several pieces where the pins were. Thanks

    • @TheOrnamentGirl
      @TheOrnamentGirl  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We've never heard of that happening with our ornaments. The pins don't seem to weaken the foam to the point of breaking. I've dropped a few over the years and never had any problems.

    • @rhondacarter9807
      @rhondacarter9807 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheOrnamentGirl thanks for the info, it could have been because floral pins are thicker than the pins you use.

    Hi there could you tell me if you have ever used a tshirt fabric to make these my friend asked me to make one for her out of her son in laws tshirt whom just passed. Any advice sld help before I cut the shirt

    • @TheOrnamentGirl
      @TheOrnamentGirl  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What a meaningful gift! These ornaments work best with woven fabrics, so if you are using a tshirt, you may want to add some light weight interfacing. You could also use a flannel style shirt with this ornament. Another idea would be to look at the Moonlight pattern ( also on this channel), as that will work very well with knits.

    How to adjust for a smaller ball

    • @TheOrnamentGirl
      @TheOrnamentGirl  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are using a 2.5" ball, you won't need to adjust much, but you may need to trim more at the equator. Any smaller than that, and I would cut about 1/2" off the measurements of the fabric to help reduce some bulk. I hope that helps!

    • @Lillydinn

      It is a stunning ornament, isnt it? 1 inch is equal to 2.5 centimetres. Also - if you click on the wheel icon (sometimes 3 dots) in the corner of the video screen, you have an option to slow down the playback speed. I use it often! 😊
