Thank you so much for explaining this so simply. I really feel ready to give this a try now. I have seen a Kimekomi ball that looked like a beautiful coloured glass window but i don't know if it is yours or someone else's but i will walk before i run. Take care. Shirley from the UK.
I find that if I place a strip of stick glue down the center of my space I’m working on, my fabric stays in place for me and doesn’t move around as much..
Your videos are great. When doing the snow globe type, can you draw lines on the ball so it helps like up the triangles. TIA. I just started learning how to make them.
Yes, you can add pins where you feel like you might need them, but the fabric doesn't hide the pin heads like a folded fabric ornament does so you'll want to use embellishments to help hide any pins.
I know how to do the lines on ball from paper strips but what about using bigger balls like 8". How do I draw a template to cut the fabric on an 8" ball just from the lines? That is what I'm stumped on. Thank you.
I absolutely love the way you show us your techniques, including your mishaps! Thank you
Beautiful. If you cut the fabric on the bias it is easier to form with less puckering
Loved this video.

Yes, absolutely!
If you need to, can you pin the top and bottom of the fabric for assistance in holding the fabric?

For a larger ball like that, you'll have to create your own template. You may be able to enlarge my template with some trial and error.
I don't find the template for this Moonlight
Hi. I ordered the pre-lined foam balls. Do I still need to cut grooves? Thanks!
Hi Rebecca... Yes, you'll still need to cut the grooves, but you've saved yourself the trouble of having to draw them first. Thank you!
Are the balls solid or hollow?
We work with solid foam balls. I hope that helps!
Can you link or recommend a hot knife? TIA
Yes, this is the one I use: theornamentgirl.com/blog/hot-knife
Cant order products it your website isnt any good, put my info in 2 times ,doesn't work
What size seed bead did you use?
Is your e-book for the ornaments still available
Yes it is: theornamentgirl.com/blog/get-my-moonlight-ornament-pattern-for-free/
Some of the videos I've watched for this type of ornament they used thin quilt batting under the fabric to help hide the defects in the ball.
I've tried that a few times and don't really prefer it, but I know some people do :)
The template is not there. I have to sign up just to get a template? Forget it
