I'm currently in the hospital and will be here for a month or so, with a long road to recovery for about a year after I'm discharged. This is my theme song, Truly a great song.
Slow, but improving. I appreciate you asking. I'm well into my third month and it looks like at least another month to go. Worst Summer ever. Hopefully you are enjoying Summer! :)
Underclass Hero I realized that when recently he said somewhere that he now has a rule that the songs he’s making needs to sound good on an acoustic guitar
He just gave up. Not in a bad way. He gave up holding back. He didn't care what anyone thought or what anyone wanted to hear. He just played. And he did it in a way only he knows how. It's amazing to think that he's still doing this now. Only better.
The tone of his guitar is sick. It gives me goosebumps. Love it. His Jimi Hendrix Monterey Pop strat is my favorite guitar of his. The solo is amazing!
@@richat1691 it’s more the amps man trust me, he’s getting back into his two rocks but those things are ridiculous. I just got hold of a traditional clean, best amp I’ve ever played. This was his prime, the two JM sig two rocks.
My drum teacher used to show us this live to demonstrate how you can add power and energy to a rather calm verse without playing too loud. I think a lot of the feeling of that tune is due to the drummer.
People here don't realize how lucky they are to have seen John Mayer in his prime with his prime band. To see John Mayer, Robbie McIntosh, David Ryan Harris, Steve Jordan, and Pino Paladino. Cause he doesn't tour with Robbie McIntosh or Steve Jordan as much anymore and they provide so much soul and nuance to his band when he toured with them. Wish I could've been there. 😭
I have so much respect for JM , one of the great talents of our generation. I'm a big classic rock fan but I can't wait till he gets back on the scene. Many blessings.
In Repair is one of John Mayer’s many therapeutical masterpieces. His music helps so many people make it on through. It’s sheer genius and love. I love it. Love him
Does anyone else miss that drummer? i swear to god he was johns best drummer besides steve, constantly played every song just like the album idk how people prefer aaron sterling to jj man
David Glover I prefer Aaron. JJ is great and all but there are minor inconsistencies that just bug me. Tempo is kinda unsteady here especially when he fills and during the bridge.
Love it. Exactly how I feel like at the moment. I'm in repair... but I'm getting there. And if not I will fake it a bit speeding up the everlasting process ;). Thanks for this song, John!
@kittie5252 Yeh, I agree. It astounds me how good at guitar he is now...it's like he has no boundaries or realyl distincitve style anymore...but in a good way so he just does everything and anything he wants...which is amazing
I agree. He didn't actually write the bas for this song though, that was Charlie Hunter with the 8 stringed guitar: search "one song one day" into TH-cam and it'll come up.

@EJ1202 what is so cool is the more I watch and listen to JM's songs I start to recognize the different guitars that he uses. It's like watching an old friend play. weird?
Vinicius Guedes, Couldn't agree with you more. Music has lost it's way, and people will listen to any shit nowadays, and don't know good music or talent if it hit them in the face
3 years ago I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. My life hasn’t been the same since. I had aspirations of becoming a body builder but since I got sick I lost over 60lbs and haven’t been able to put any weight back on. I’ve been on tons of medications including infusions and some type of oral chemo therapy. All the while my girlfriend of 5 years and I broke up. Since I was sick and alone all I had was time. I found John’s music and a guitar in my hand. 6 months ago I was finally able to get in remission, but my body still hasn’t recovered to how it was before I got sick. I’m in repair. I’m not together but I’m getting there. 🤍
Oh John! Back when he didn't shy away from flexing those finger muscles :) it's good to see him like that. I have to say I don't find his songwriting genuine or honest enough. He is really trying to fit in now.,trying to be someone else. Back in the day he was in his own league, going with his instinct. After born and raised, (very underrated, which has some of his best conceived songs) he just fell out.
I'm currently in the hospital and will be here for a month or so, with a long road to recovery for about a year after I'm discharged. This is my theme song, Truly a great song.
Goodluck in there buddy! Stay strong!
hey, thanks, man!
You're welcome :)
what a good Song man. is one of my favorites. How is the recovery doing for you ?

"In Repair" is a Masterpiece. A real masterpiece. Thanks, John. :)
I watched him write it in the studio. Not really a masterpiece. You can watch it to.
I agree, masterpiece 🙏🏻
@@dannyinaus Not really a masterpiece? It's one of his best songs ever, imho!
@@dannyinaus yeah you right. It's literally doctoratpiece
we need more of this John Mayer
10mill screaming girls say different 😂
Too bad he is never gonna produce something like that.

so true, and this when he unleashes his inner beast.
And now he still continues, me born in 21 century still like him for what he has done
Love this
This is the best version of "in repair" my favorite artist of all time

How come Bieber has billions of views and this awesome video has less than 50k?
Fuck Logic of Life.
Is your real name Vinicius? Cool name how do you pronounce it
Agree bro!
One of great songs of our century. By an extraordinary composer, singer and guitar player.Mayer is a genius. Epic!
JJ Johnson, Dela, DRH, Robbie...what a band!! Hopefully one day he'll put that line up back together.
6years later still waiting
llamawizard 7 years, still waiting
2023 and still waiting
The solo starting around the 6 minute mark is a perfect mashup of Johns playing and jimi and Stevie’s influence. Good lord he smoked that song
i aspire to play guitar like he does at 5:57 and on that is my goal
incredible song. Maybe my fav but he has so many good ones
Love your life and that Spirit brings you to the right place….❤❤

I grew up listening to his music.
He is a national treasure!
I love that drummer
Steve jordan is a monster on a kit

Brenden White JJ Cale? Huh? First off JJ Cale is white and second off thats the legendary steve jordan
Kyle Brady yup I’m an idiot.

It’s crazy that this song was written, composed and recorded in only a couple hours. Goosebumps....all over. WTF

I agree I loved the emotion and passion the most with this formation. Damn that would be great
Feel like such a hermit that ive only just started listen to John Mayer but at least its late then never cause this guy is something else!!!

Too many shadows in my room
Too many hours in this midnight
Too many corners in my mind
So much to do to set my heart right
Oh, it's taking so long
I could be wrong, I could be ready
Oh but if I take my heart's advice
I should assume it's still unsteady
I am in repair, I am in repair
Stood on the corner for a while
To wait for the wind to blow down on me
Hoping it takes with it my old ways
And brings some brand new luck upon me

Oh but if I take my heart's advice
I should assume it's still unsteady
I am in repair, I am in repair
And now I'm walking in the park
And all of the birds, they dance below me
Maybe when things turn green again
It will be good to say you know me
Oh, it's taking so long
I could be wrong, I could be ready
Oh but if I take my heart's advice
I should assume it's still unready
Oh, yeah, I'm never really ready
Oh, I'm never really ready
