I have been DJing for 21 years and BIG JM fan. LOVE that he thru in some samples and had some fun. He is know 40 and looking to have fun and change it up. HUGE PROPS. He finally beat the stigma of just being a grammy winner, started TRIO, then had vocal issues, delt/fixed that, did some projects that felt close to his heart. They didn't win grammys and he was fine with that. He knows the times have changed and embraces them knowing he is older dealing with a younger generation. He wants to do his thing but also adapt to what music is today and have some fun with the youth and maybe get some of that youth back in his arithmetic. You can't knock someone who wants to keep the integrity but have some fun once in awhile. He is by fa 1 of the best guitarist of our generation...absorb what you can because music isn't what it used to be. Cheers to all who have a good time watching other people create and make that possible.
hey, times haven't changed that much, as someone born around the time he released his second album, I really like John's work with Grateful Dead, Frank Ocean, Ed Sheeran and all the guitar greats. I would love to see him do more sampling and collabs occasionally too though.

I don't think one can truly understand his level of giftedness and virtuosity without trying to actually play one of his songs, and sing at the same time...and make it look so easy.

agreed. he probably tried to perform like ed shreean but John played already recorded loops, even though there is noting wrong with that but I much prefer him with a band or him and just the guitar.
In an another interview he's talked about how he spent a year just working on learning to making beats as a side project. I think this the result of that. It's def influenced his newer stuff. He even worked with NO I.D on New Light, which is a pretty loopy song

agreed. he probably tried to perform like ed shreean but John played already recorded loops, even though there is noting wrong with that but I much prefer him with a band or him and just the guitar.

In an another interview he's talked about how he spent a year just working on learning to making beats as a side project. I think this the result of that. It's def influenced his newer stuff. He even worked with NO I.D on New Light, which is a pretty loopy song
