Love to see coloring pages from a Frogs Tale. Thank you for showing the marker colors because so many won't. I especially like how you did the car. Thank you for sharing.
If anyone is on a budget even the original 48 pastel set (they have named it now and I always forget what it's called.. but it's the one with the color Prawn, which is a rare pastel red) will get you by for basing. I used only that for years. It has a warm and cool of every color including brown and grey. The second set is mostly more colors like blue, pink, purple, etc. I eventually expanded to both pastel sets and the midtone set.. but honestly I think my work was more cohesive with just the original 48, and that is probably what I will rebuy in the future. I highly suggest getting the one with brush and fine tips (Honolulu B).
I live in the US so am stuck with that paper unless I import at huge shipping cost. Alcohol markers work great for a base.. but I've also found I can use neo's, inktense, or watercolor pencil.. as long as you activate it with a clear alcohol blender instead of water. You will get no warping, and no bleeding if you only activate once. I recently did a page in "Colouring with your Octopus" that is thin paper and double sided with a flat watercolor pencil base with Prisma on top... and it didn't bleed at all. On pages that are single sided you can use mulitple layers activated just know it will bleed through. I've been doing it so much I've had to get refills for the fluid, I've run out all the blenders I own. I haven't touched my waterbrush in months lol, even on thicker books like Bassford it's lovely not having any damage/change to the paper. I'm about to try straight alcohol, I have a pen refilled and ready to go for this weekend. Ohuhu does sell their blenders cheap in a 6 pack on Amazon, and they sell a refill on their website. Copic refill is easier to source.
