    I’m new to this stuff I know that you need a new rod and fly wheel if you remove or bypass the governor but this looks complicated did someone help you the first time or did you just dive in and hope for the best lol

    • @Guido19
      @Guido19  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes and no haha! So you don’t necessarily need a billet rod or flywheel but it is 100% strongly recommended. I’ve rode on a governor delete motor with stock internals for a long time and as long as your careful don’t over rev the motor and take care of it your fine but it most definitely is worth the reliability and performance for sure! And no I have learned and self taught myself by working on these motors or watching TH-cam videos. When you open these motors up it’s very easy and hard to mess up I would say personally speaking. As long as your timing lines up for the cam and the crankshaft when re installing everything your pretty much 100% and with the flywheel it can really only go on one way.

  • @jamesfalvey77
    @jamesfalvey77 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You don't have to pull the piston to replace the rod. Beats buying the compressor to reinstall. Instead, pull the crank shaft out and push the piston downward. Enough to pull the snap ring and slide the wrist pin out

    • @Guido19
      @Guido19  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah! I pulled it out because while I filmed this video I also installed a 70mm flat top piston as well. I made a separate video on that.

    So for the rod I know there are different versions will this work with the 6254 arc billet stock length rod on Amazon some people are telling me to clearance the block and some people are saying to just send it and it will clearance itself i don’t know what I’m doing at all but the video helps allot

    • @Guido19
      @Guido19  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Heck yeah I’m glad! Hmm very weird. If your gonna get it I would get it straight from arc. Also I’ve never had any issues or anything clearance issues either so I’m not sure if that’s just a different rod or something. Also if it’s hitting a bit I wouldn’t let it self clear I would use a dermal and sand it down till it doesn’t hit

  • @franciscotavares2817
    @franciscotavares2817 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What torque wrench are you using, my torque wrench is a 3/8 drive and it's too big to fit inside the block.

    • @Guido19
      @Guido19  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I used a 1/4. It just barely fits

  • @kbeezyyyy_5069
    @kbeezyyyy_5069 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    do i have to torque everything to spec? i dont have a torque wrench and im trynna do it myself

    • @Guido19
      @Guido19  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes you have to. This is probably the biggest part of the whole installation and I wouldn’t skimp on it. It needs to be torqued to spec and you can buy a budget torque wrench at a hardware store for $25-$40. If you over tighten it you could strip the threads and your screwed or if you don’t tighten it enough it can come apart while the motor is running and everything will get dismantled.

    did you check the gap with plastic gage or do you not have to that?

    • @Guido19
      @Guido19  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn’t and in my opinion that is not needed on a new or lightly used motor. If your motor has been neglected or ran super hard then I would highly suggest that you do as your crankshaft can be worn to much and would need to be replaced for a proper installation

    Hey guido this video was a life saver I just installed my cam rod champ rockers I had some issues getting the piston in but I did it when I spin the crank the rod is not hitting anything but the crank makes a sorta like a grinding noise but when I put the side cover in it doesn’t do that anymore is this normal?

    • @Guido19
      @Guido19  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      When the motor is all assembled and doesn’t make any noise you should be good. I would look inside the motor again and make sure everything is all lined up and as it should and make sure everything is all lubricated.

    • @Guido19
      @Guido19  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This motor has already been ran in so I would let it run and idle for maybe 5 minutes and then go for a gentle cruise then change the oil. For a brand new motor where everything is new I would let the motor rn and idle for around 10 and change the oil.
