Hell yes! I first meet him in Ulrika's Vampire trilogy. He appeared to my ignorant ass a a red-shirt... right up until they crossed blades and he fucking owned every remaining scene of the novel.
Reminder that Marius Leitdorf ignited a war between The Empire and Bretonnia when he called a Duke's wife ugly (which she was). Also if they add in Theodore Bruckner, then they better give Empire Captains Demigryph mounts too. Edit: Again, minor race DLCs as I mentioned before. Take over a settlement of a minor faction, in this case Halflings, and you can recruit their units, heroes and lords for your faction.
No offense to the GBoG, but this is where I think you are at your best. I love your love videos. You do a great job of pulling small bits of lore, contextualizing it with the larger universe, and then framing it within WH3 possibilities. Keep up the great work!

I feel the same about valten. Very cool miniatures, does some plot advancement with Luther Huss, but otherwise has the personality of a log. Theres a great SoC scenario in WD where he and Luther and some other priests fight an opposing army. I think it was beastmen
There is a fortress on the river reik that is entirely under Reiksguard control. That would fit as a starting posistion for Kurt Hellborg, or just set him on a campaign somewhere cause that always works. For halflings, I've said it before but if they turn up they should make the ogre feastmaster tribe too which has halflings. As for Valten, if they add him Luthor Huss should be a linked Legendary Hero as he leads the part of the church that belives in him as Sigmar reborn. And last, for the question of who I want...Theodric Buckner.
Boris is already kind of FLC. He's pretty much de facto a legendary lord in campaign. You just can't play as him. I suspect when they introduce the Ulric units they'll just unlock him.
Theres a mod for Valten in TWWH2 (not sure if its been made for 3 yet) that is exactly as you described. he starts off as the villiage kid and as you level him up he gets his armour and then mount, hammer ect
I wouldn’t mind Halflings if we got a “Summon the Elector Counts!” DLC with Marius Lietdorf, Valnir Von Raukov, Hisme Fatfoot (couldn’t remember his last name), and some other Elector Count. I’d be down. Could still get a Cult of Ulric DLC down the line and Boris Todbringer as FLC.
I feel that the Empire is one of the most neglected factions. They need so much: characters, lords and units. I am hoping CA will eventually add some DLC for them. Like you pointed out, their is so much lore CA could use.
I don't think they're neglected, they're about on par with most factions from the first game of attention they get, but they have gotten two very specifically themed expansions, which means that outside that theme they can feel kind of bad
One thing adding in characters can do is help fill out the map in legendary lord action. Cathay is pretty baron for legendary lord's, as is the southern chaos waste, putting mister priest from here down there would be cool.
The word you're looking for is barren, not baron. Cathay will (hopefully) fill up with more dragon siblings and their respective rival. Southern chaos wastes should really get a CA selfmade penguin beastman, like the siren from the vampire coast that's made by CA. "The fight or flight response only works one way if you can't fly" *thunder noises and lightning strikes* camera cut to a horde of giant penguins belly sliding at the viewer before it fades to black.
@@docmercy3660 lol penguin beastmen would be funny. I have a theory that a vampire coast/norsca thing is coming that redoes much of the sea adding more stuff since it's probably the worst location no one ever talks about it.
Marius is actually extremely strong willed, sane and just as good as Karl Franz. The reason he is "insane" is it's him resisting a Daemon Prince of Slaanesh trying to corrupt him over to Chaos.
If Vatlen was in game, it should be light armor with two hammers young version. In order not to take Ghal Maraz from Karl. Because you would have to change karls model and people would cry.
Have an event where if you're playing him, Valten can earn the right to be gifted the Hammer by Karl or if you're playing Karl you can gift him the hammer for a period of time and have him lead your armies.
It has to be. In know, people want new starting positions and so on, but the empire would benefit the most from adding 2-4 new mechanics and a load of charackters in form of legendary lords and legendary heroes, who you could unlock through controlling every core province of the empire, special missions against chaos/undead factions (caus you will always be at war with them sooner or later), special buildings and so on. You should get buffs every time you kill an entire enemy army inside your core provinces, cause the empire is all about being in the center of every invasion, besieged on all sides. Religion, knight orders, special charackters. There is a lot to add, a lot of flavour and replayabillity
Brunner. Give me Brunner. He almost killed Archaon during the Endtimes. Literally had him to dead to rights. Stupid Chaos had to save him Brunner is Best. Hell Give him a campaign where he can take back his family castle and then choose to join the Empire or Bretonnia.
elspeth and marius are already part of mixus legendary lords that places them as legendary lords/elector counts of their respective cities, which is honestly a must have mod for me just for it's additional variety exactly like the legendary characters mod you featured a while ago. I can't stand the nameless nobody elector count stand-ins (or those of other races). With mixu's unlocker they are also playable but that is not even needed in my opinion, just fill the map with more characters!
YES. Can they please just release Legendary Character Packs, where they just get rid of Generic Copies and replace them with confederable LLs that don't have their own campaign. Elector Counts, Bretonnian Dukes, Elven Lords, Orc and Goblin, Warbosses, all the Heroes, what have you, maybe with some units you get if you confederate them
To me, Elspeth is a perfect example of diversifying characters rather than having them repeat leadership roles like elector counts. What I mean by this is examples like Tyrion replacing Finubar as the face of the High Elves, and in this case Elspeth replacing an elector count in a leadership role. Come to think of it, this would be a nice feature to replace some other more generic lords as well, like the Dukes of Bretonnia with more interesting, shall we say enforcers or personalities that differ from the stereotypically role in the Old World.
I think a good video could be, one where you talk about the Norscan Tribe idea you have talked about, which tribes there could be and who could lead them, maybe a special mechanic how they would work with the type of tribe they are or something, I think it could be a neat video, unless you already did and I missed it, then good job👍
Lots more Empire characters in general would be great. It feels a very long time since Markus was introduced. There's a lot more Empire characters left out than there are units, so I'd like them to go a bit wild on FLC heroes and lords. Oh and regular lore of metal wizards and wizard lords are overdue. What I'd really like to see is every elector count be playable and a mechanic of them being able to become Emperor but happy to accept that's probably a pipe dream.
Before Watching this... my list, not including Electors and Elector Counts: Luthor Huss Ludwig Schwarzhelm Kurt Helborg Thyrus Gorman Jubal Falk, Captain Engineer of the Nuln Ironsides
I do think a religion mechanic for The Empire could be quite interesting. Perhaps give them options for temples available only in the capital, each of which gives different buffs to their province. Thoughts?

A cool way to represent the reiksmarshal inspiring the troops by charging into danger would be something like a map-wide bonus if he's currently in a losing fight.
The only Dragons the Empire need are two. 1 Carmine Dragon mount for Elspeth von Draken and 1 Imperial Dragon added to an Imperial Zoo unique building in Altdorf which just adds it to the garrison. Karl Franz is perfect with his iconic mount Deathclaw and doesn’t need it.
Elspeth von Draken does sound like she could have an intriguing campain. She could be some kind of hybrid faction as Empire but with a few ghost units (she employs the lore of death if I recall correctly). think reverse Vlad so to speak. Say she starts off as not an elector-countess but as the unofficial ruler of Wissenland. Because she is not the real elector-countess she starts off with a bad reputation among the human factions of the Empire whilst her lore of Death means she has (initially) a good relationship with the vampires. (potential dilemma to become more undead-aligned perhaps) Throughout her campaign she suffers from minor invasions and events with attacks from Chaos and Nurgle whilst a timer counts down until the grand invasion of Tamurkhan. (Inspiration from Belegar Ironhammer Sisters of Twilight, Eltharion the Grim ) Her new units would involve Nuln based gunpowder units (the Empire curently lacks high-tier hybrids, perhaps repeater rifles with bajonets? + the ability to upgrade your handgunners once the Nuln Gunfoundery has reached a certain tier: riflemen with repeaters, Nuln long rifles, muskets with bajonets.... to remind all empire players of the importance of Nuln) and perhaps knights of the Black Rose or Knights of Morr.
I think it'd be better to have Helborg be a LL and have Schwartzhelm be a LH for Franz, personally. Not that I have anything against Helborg being a hero, per se, but given that his lore already has him going all over the world anyway I think it makes more sense for him to be a LL. A shame we'll never get Sir Kruber, the Bull of Ostland. Would be too strong for the setting, especially with his four legendary heroes. We just have to be content with Wolfhart's Lustria Five rather than the Ubersreik 5. Also B O R I S
To this day I am still pissed Valten hasn't been added as a LL and Archeon's rival. It makes no sense why we haven't seen him. Also after all this time how have they still not made Boris a LL when Khazrak, the beast who he took the eye of and took his eye, both of which die by each other's hand in The End Times. Has been in the game for over half a decade.
I want to see Boris Todbringer come as FLC with Emil Valgeir the Ar-Ulric with Middenland. I want Elspeth von Draken, Valmir von Raukov, Alderbrand Ludenhof, Marius Leitdorf, Kurt Helborg, Ludwig Schwarzhelm (LH), Jubal Falk (LH). Definitely want to see Halflings added to the Moot. Richard Aldridge loves Halflings. There is so much content for the Empire.
I want that one Norscan who leads an Ulric Order, as this weird Anti-Chaos Empire Norsca Hybrid Faction. Alternatively could make him a Norscan LL who is all about Fighting Chaos instead of serving it.
I will be honest basically I love the stories of gotrek and felix, on that note, Snorri Nosebiter.....well he gain my love by sheer stupidity and tears...( I mention him as additional to make gotrek & felix a single hero unit and he as an additional ) or just Maximilian “Max” Schreiber....because more battle wizards be fun
Halflings getting fleshed out more would be neat indeed! They got looked down upon weirdly, I remember. There was this old battle report between Empire and Vampire Counts, and the Empire player said he expects the Halflings to run away first. Which was silly, because they had a higher leadership than his regular state troops! Aside from that... Elsbeth and Helborg are probably good choices because one slots nicely with possible Empire wizard lords, and both would make sense as a Lord operating far from the Empire itself. The way CA expatriated Volkmar suggests the Empire was too crowded in their opinion. About vampires and resurrection: isn't the lore behind the Black Coach precisely that? Obtaining enough life force to resurrect the dead vampire inside?
A themed empire dlc a la chaos champions with four LL and visual distinction between the different empire counts. And a bunch of different priests for everyone Ulric, Manaan and Taal maybe Mirmidia.
A mini campaign where you command Valten and Luthor Huss right after Huss discovered the boy, travelling through the empire and smashing enemies to gain recognition, followers and his awesome armor, only to end up at the siege of Middenheim, would be just.. pure jizz.
I'm not a huge Empire fan, but if there's one character I'd want to make me play them, it's Kurt Hellborg as well as expanding the roster with Ulric units. Imo Kurt Hellborg definitely shouldn't be a legendary hero nor tied to Altdorf/Karl Franz, the Reiksmarshal is even a council position only lords can take, the legendary hero bit fits Ludwig Schwarzhelm better. I don't think it'd be that odd to have him somewhere else in the world and would be a perfect character for it as opposed to the elector counts. He can be on a quest or crusade somewhere sent by Karl Franz himself to lead Empire's armies against a threat, but leading his own faction. He'd fit as someone who might push into say the northern Darklands itself, kinda like Boris for Kislev, to be at the forefront of thinning down chaos to protect the Empire, whilst also adding new start pos and more variety in the world. As we need more of that and I think that takes priority over what might make sense at face value.
As someone who just isn't interested in the Empire that much, Marius appeals to me for the potential of an absolutely wild campaign with preposterous dilemmas, missions, & mechanics: declaring war on fictional factions, recruiting bizarre units into his army, consulting his warhorse Daisy for advice, going off on mad Crusades for perceived slights, causing diplomatic chaos with his dalliance with royal ladies. It'd be like Flashman meets Don Quixote with some Baron Munchausen thrown in.
They are great mods for all these characters with fantastic in game models. Although I agree a DLC would be better but if you want to play as these characters it's doable.
Helborg and Von Draken are the Empire characters I want most. Schwarzhhelm would be a great Legendary Hero for Franz, Voltan an LH for the rest of the Empire factions. I agree, all the elector counts would be great eventually.
Technically all Vampires can reform after death, even if their death was "done proper". That is, amongst other things, what the Black Coaches are there for.
The problem with Voltan is not that he is a Mary Sue, the problem here is that he is as charachterised as a wrench. He has a story arc that read: he lives, he is gifted shit, he get the drip, he confronts archaon, he die stupidly. Both his death are just painful, being storm of chaos or End Times and it just shows how bad GW writers were at handling charachters in those events.
I think heroes should be left as they are but with the ability to be detached from the army with maybe half a stack or so to carry out tasks than rejoin the legendary lord.
Marius is already technically in the game but I doubt he'll be one an actual LL as far as I know only Alberich became a LL from a generic one though he's still quite generic
I know she is not named anywere but I would love to have the Staddtholder of Marienburg as a Legendary Lord. It would give an opportunity to have an original campaign with an original character and new units (maybe with a few elven units) and also an opportunity to add another woman (I'm definitely expecting Elspeth and maybe Isthme at some point) to the roster. Because let's be fair, there is very few women in the current generation of Empire character and it reflect poorly on the empire to be less progressive than Bretonnia and fricking chaos.
I honestly dont think there is even hope of getting all of the elector Counts. Just a couple of reasons would be they would either have extremely boring starting positions in the empire or ones thst dont Really make sense elsewhere. They would be hard to make unique because they are basically the same character, they would have a hard time justifying so many dlc’s with just empire and they dont have enough units for that unless they all of a sudden fail a bunch of units that dont exist and i dont think that GW wanna make so much more.
I find that the Ellyrion, Cothique and Tiranoc didn’t get unique LL. Can you do one about them. I know that Aislinn is a good LL candidate for Cothique though.
Cothique having a LL would be so random... yet very cool. Even though Aislinn is from Lothern. And they'll definitely add him to the W3 chaos campaign.
Adding Valten just feels like it forces you into a specific storyline which GW has never managed to wrap up satisfyingly. Sigmar just shouldn't return/be reborn, and creating a fakeout also just feels anticlimatic, so honestly I don't want him. LUTHOR HUSS on the other hand, though...

Hey great book of grudges there is a chaos dwarfs pack mod out there in the warhammer 3 workshop
We need the Ubersreik Five as a pack of 5 hero units that need to be always together.
I would love to hear about possible in-game characters of the Vampire Counts in same type of a video :)
They should do a Legendary DLC or FLC pack where they include quite a lot. Like Kurt Hellborg for their respective races.
A themed empire dlc a la chaos champions with four LL and visual distinction between the different empire counts. And a bunch of different priests for everyone Ulric, Manaan and Taal maybe Mirmidia.
A mini campaign where you command Valten and Luthor Huss right after Huss discovered the boy, travelling through the empire and smashing enemies to gain recognition, followers and his awesome armor, only to end up at the siege of Middenheim, would be just.. pure jizz.
Marius Leitdorf is essentially Charlie Sheen of Warhammer Fantasy lol
I want Thyrus Gorman. I want a Court of Magic intrigue DLC where he returns to challenge Gelt for the position of Supreme Patriarch.
Markus Kruber and Vicktor Saltpire would be awesome to see in total war warhammer 3
They are great mods for all these characters with fantastic in game models. Although I agree a DLC would be better but if you want to play as these characters it's doable.
We badly need golfag maneater. He could be a good initial lord for a southern realms/dogs of war army along with leitpold the black.
Helborg and Von Draken are the Empire characters I want most. Schwarzhhelm would be a great Legendary Hero for Franz, Voltan an LH for the rest of the Empire factions.
I agree, all the elector counts would be great eventually.
If you whent through every missing character I would still be here sounds fun. Or a long video series.
"Feels like a Matt Ward character" lmaoo
This put into words a feeling I didn't know how to express.
Technically all Vampires can reform after death, even if their death was "done proper". That is, amongst other things, what the Black Coaches are there for.
Elspeth, Kurt and then Marius for me!
I want a Total War Sigmar game uniting the Empire.
Most popular faction lacking quite a few things, No idea why Karl doesn't have his dragon yet.
I would love to play a Witch Hunter. Killing witches, heretics ect.
Dont know If there is such a Lord left.
18:47 He who shall not be named!
Halfling legendary lord and units for Dogs of War!
Would love Thyrus Gormann
He was robbed of supreme patriarch.
Id prefer elspeth starting in other place than in nuln, because its literally next to franz and gelt.
For helborg why not give him Solland, move Gelt, and give kurt oxy's mission mechanic?
calling our lady of nuln lazy?! we need more diplomatic focus characters for campaign.
Yes we need these missing ones
Marius is already technically in the game but I doubt he'll be one an actual LL as far as I know only Alberich became a LL from a generic one though he's still quite generic
I wish they use the projects of the other 3 chaos books
Well then, petition for Elspeth to be voiced by Shohreh Aghdashloo :)
Because let's be fair, there is very few women in the current generation of Empire character and it reflect poorly on the empire to be less progressive than Bretonnia and fricking chaos.
maybe she has bonded with the Amethyst wind of Death
Ludwig Schwarzhelm would be cool
probably more a hero though, as he's so closely associated with Franz
Here's Voltan
Where's Valten where's Valten where's valten ?! 😏
Ask Snich about the man-thing you must, yes yes.
Mixu legendary lords - check out this mod for warhammer 3 if you like characters like Leitdorf or von Draken...
Can you do a Bretonnia video like this?
Missing Luthor Huss
Marius Leitdorf is in-game. He's the elector count of Averland. He's just not a legendary lord and doesn't have a unique model.
Oh don't worry, whatever happen that got us rid of the Hordes of Chaos, Monstrous Arcanum and Imperial Armour series, we all deeply regret.
I find that the Ellyrion, Cothique and Tiranoc didn’t get unique LL. Can you do one about them. I know that Aislinn is a good LL candidate for Cothique though.
Cothique having a LL would be so random... yet very cool. Even though Aislinn is from Lothern. And they'll definitely add him to the W3 chaos campaign.
we need brunner.,
Adding Valten just feels like it forces you into a specific storyline which GW has never managed to wrap up satisfyingly. Sigmar just shouldn't return/be reborn, and creating a fakeout also just feels anticlimatic, so honestly I don't want him. LUTHOR HUSS on the other hand, though...
Give me Theodoric Gausser Nordland is awesome
Not so much a character, but I really hope they introduce master engineers as a generic hero. I want my pigeon bombs, dammit.
Do you think there will ever be a empire only dlc and another overhaul
lmao when you say karl franz but in CC its called france lmao
Valten !
I need Valten in the game
Of all the characters I don't see valten as Mary Sue and 🙃🙃
Todbringer when
Which Legendary Lords are dead in lore that show in in TW:WH3? The three I know of are Rapanse, Grom and Boris. Are there any others?
The White Dwarf, Orion, Kroak, Volkmar, Morghur, plus the undead ones Settra, Arkhan, Khalida, Khatep, Mannfred, Vlad & Isabella, Kemmler, Ghorst, Luther Harkon, Noctilus, and Cylostra.
@@lancerd4934 All the characters that die in the end times should still be alive. TW:WH's timeline is kinda the prologue to the end times. WH3 -> WH2 -> WH1== start end times. Ursuns' roars weaken the vortex, which leads into the vortex crisis, which leads to the end times.
Valten isn’t the coolest character, but he makes a bunch of other characters more interesting by asking them “what do you do with a messiah”?
Maybe Elzbeth is a 40 Orc kappa
