I am a doctor and discovered your channel during the height of the pandemic shut down. My days were filled with caring for sick and anxious patients and your channel was one bright spot in my otherwise depressing and stressful life. When I hear the music starting and ending your videos it makes me happy. I love to watch the makeovers, but just hearing your music makes my day brighter.
This is such a nice message. Thank you for all you and the health care does for all of us ❤️
Thank you for what you do! Much love and thanks
Yes, I love the music. So upbeat. 💞
I love that music too!!!
@kimberlyallen6582
That was so nice to read! I'm so glad something helped you get through such a hard time especially for a doctor. Although I'm sure you have a really nice big home! , I watch these bc this is what I can afford...well, not so much anymore, my studio was $500/mo but now they are as much as a one bedroom! Thank you so very much for all your help and services when the pandemic hit. We all REALLY appreciate you!!! 😘 XOXO
AG Team challenge? 😮! Make over a SENIOR INDEPENDENT LIVING apartment. To help seniors to transition into a new Lifestyle of Retirement. Please Give us Hope DESIGN Idea choices to personalize our units;...be kind, and sensitive to our limited mobility issues. (Get us out of the 70/ 80's decor). Love to see what your team can do.
AGT, my Granddaughter, shared you You Tube programs with me. I will soon, move into a unit, what renter friendly idea choice I can use,
To reflect my style...an updated look. There is 80's wallpaper all over the building;
It's a mid century 1-bed unit with valued ceilings, 1 closet (? Wow talking about downsizing 😮). Would need storage solutions. For example: for tiny dining area, with storage. Creative entryway/ shoe storage etc.
HELP US SENIORS We like stylish things too.
This is a great idea! Even if she did the common area/activity room.
I’m a retired teacher and downsizing to a multi family home with my son. 2 bedrooms, open living room/dining room and kitchenette. I would love some senior downsizing tips . It’s overwhelming just the downsizing part. Thank you
Love this ❤
This would be so wholesome, do it TEAM AG
I'll preface my comments by saying that I totally respect Alexandra and her team and I generally really like the makeovers.
That being said, this fix did not resonate with me. I feel like the inspiration photos were a bit more elevated than the actual design. Also, the client is really into pink and purple so I didn't understand having the squiggle line be a brighter yellow. Also that entryway light bulb didn't really go with the vibe.
Glad the client is happy and I suppose that's really what matters.
Graham is a genius...every woman needs a Graham in her life :D
As a Teal lover I had such hope after those inspo pics but it ended up mustard and pink and I am le confused why you deviated from her inspo colours? Could you explain your colour choice decisions?
Too much pink, the greens in her inspo are so pretty and turquoise. Alexandra is marvelously creative just not my style.
she did say that pinks and purples were her favorite colors so i think that was why
I think her studio looks really great. Although there is very little green from her original inspo boards which I thought were very botantical. She has all that amazing light and could have had so many more plants. I love everything you do and hate saying anything negative but feel that we could have replaced the mustard colors with greens. The furniture is perfect. You are so talented.
I came here to say the same thing, I know Alexandra's color is pink but I think she let that over run this design more when it should have based on the inspo.
Edit: it seems I missed that the client said her favorite colors were pink and purple but I still dont think that means Alexandra should have ignored the inspo so much. Just because someones favorite color is pink doesnt mean they want to live in it.
Holy pastels! 🤯 y’all did an outstanding job with every single element of this makeover. The colors! The furniture selection! The lighting! The wallpaper! It all blends together so beautifully and seamlessly.
Y’all breathed a fresh breath of life into this studio apartment. Lovely job!
The inspiration pictures were so pretty! I feel like the olive green and mustard were more 70s vibes than the pastel aesthetic the client liked 😔
I agree, I dont think she really followed the inspiration and wishes of the client in this makeover when it came to the color scheme. The inspiration pictures were so nice and felt more fresh and "happy" instead of these more earthy colors (total 70's vibe). The shape of the furniture and details were on point, just the colors that where a bit off.
You obviously love mustard yellow. Do your clients, who ask for blue, pink, and green, love it? I would cry if you put that wallpaper in my space.
She has a whole consultation with them, of course she asks that kind of stuff
@@amykatherinespencer she asked what colours she liked and when the answer was "I love dark colours like blue and green" her response was "so bright and airy" and gave her pastel pink and mustard yellow...
@@ashasarca umm actually those are the colors she DIDNT like. She said dark blues and greens when alexandra asked her whether there are any colors she didnt like.
I don't know why, but I'm just not a fan of the lilac locker, wallpaper, and mustard squiggle together:( I feel like they clash and it's a little visually jarring. Also, the sofa is SO low compared to the ottoman and it's off.
On the other hand, the bed, desk and entry way are pretty! I like the entry way art.
It's just...idk, I feel like the vibe is VERY different to her inspo pics which were a lot more refined/grown up with some more traditional elements and mouldings. Almost like Lily Allen's home...a bit more of a classic eccentric but in pastel. But what we have here is yet another one of Alexandra's squiggly pastel scandi makeovers with the same colours as always. It's nice to see most of the time, but it can get repetitive and I don't feel like it's what she asked for?
Love your work always but I think you could have used that light blue she showed in her inspo more. Her inspo pics were incredibly beautiful.
100% - I didn't understand that either. It makes me a little sad every time that this happens in one of her makeovers, because there's a lack of listening that is disappointing. Even with the locker in the entryway, the company sells a pretty blue called The Ocean, but AG chose the pink, which is pretty, but not one of the woman's pinned colors.
@@PennyPowell-fr9ec she definitely has a consistent color pallete that she uses in her projects.
She had blue in her inspo photos, but said she prefers pink.
@@lavinder11 I see.
Wish you put in the bed with storage she seems like she needs it. And personally I really hate that wall with "tile" wallpaper and swivel but can't say anything against the fact that it's made really well, great work. And as long as she likes it it's all that matters.
I agree.
The fact that the squiggle is in a mustard color, which wasn't even remotely depicted in the woman's wish list, is mind boggling to me. I do not understand these makeovers about 60% of the time. Yet, I can't stop watching, hoping that I'll get inspiration.
The squiggle molding looks like a large version of the photo frame around the peephole in Monica and Rachel’s apartment on friends.
Omg spot on 😂
Not a fan.
I absolutely love the makeover, as always! I was a little disappointed that more of the aqua/turquoise from the client's inspo wasn't used. I know Alexandra loves pink, and the client was obviously happy, but those blues were beautiful. I would have loved to see more of that color, and not so much pink, even in future makeovers.
i love the pink.
true
The client says she loves pink and purple. Alexandra is a good listener.
The candle looks like polyps. Very organic touch❤
It’s beautiful, light and airy!
the inspo photos: full of bright colours
melissa: i LOVE colour on the walls!
alexandra: lets go with white walls and pastel colours again
I’m not a licensed interior designer or anything but I want to join your team so bad! This is exactly what I want to do for my job now that I’ve graduated! Keep up the great content.
Aww you can do it Henry!
Me too. Love from India
@@AlexandraGaterAlexandra I'm an aspiring interior designer and will complete my graduation in 5-6 years... Please I am really requesting you to reserve a spot for me in your team.
You can do it Henry!! Just please, don't turn into a yuppie snob. The reason I love Alexandra so much, is because she keeps it real.
💓💓💓
Absolutely beautiful!!!!
I don't normally comment, but you guys smashed it with this one! I am Danish and your "Scandinavian" decor is getting so much better! 😊
Lovely! Only 2 suggestions from my personal wish-list...a more substantial bedside table with some sort of easily accessible bedside light.
And though quirky, eye-catching overhead lighting is a PLUS... the exposed BARE BULB beneath it is NOT.
I can’t get over the creativity that goes into every home. You make me feel like I can live in a studio as long as you decorate for me .
I LOVE WATCHING THE PROCESS. From the beginning where we see the potential and the home owner's/renter's needs and decor sensibility, to the plan and Graham's technical skills as well as Alexandra's design inspiration. For me the most fun is at the end where she pulls all these amazing finishing touches out of a hat. That's when the real transformational magic reveals itself.
I love you and your team and the channel!!! I don’t understand how your not at 1 million subscribers, what’s wrong with people! The quality of your content is incredible! OBSESSED and I appreciate you and all the work you guys do! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
I so agree!
I think they should do the before and after shorts. They usually attract a LOT of new viewers. This channel is definitely ready for primetime. The content is stellar. The host is lively, warm and engaging. The pinned references for products and materials are helpful, and the results are real life terrific.
100000% agree!
I agree
I agree!!!
Wow, this makeover is stunning. The furniture is perfection, love all the pastel tones!!! 🔥😭 I wish this was my space
It’s a great redesign but where is the turquoise the client wanted?
Your makeovers are always so HAPPY, pretty, and cohesive-looking. You definitely have a unique style. It has been great watching you evolve into an amazing designer Alexandra. Your channel is fun!
Where's the beautiful Tiffany blue she had pinned? These are your colors, not hers!
Glad she was happy with it though.
Alexandra, You and your team are amazing. While watching this my boyfriend called me to see how i am today as i am on vacation all week. I prayed i wouldnt loose this video bring intrupted for his call. He asked what was i watching and i told him about it. His condo os 420 square feet, no balcony but very tall and long windows. His kitchen was renovated before he moved in but his place needs a lot of upgrades.
At rhe beginning when you hung the new light in the ceiling in tye foyerI thought to myself a pot the same shape would be cool. The i see you did get pots in that shape.
I loved how you tied all the colors together. Great Reno!
This turned out very nice. Good job. Also I like the lengthy camera work at the end for the reveal, it gives us a good chance to appreciate it.
Girl ! I love the decor & the way you style everything that I fast forward to the reveal ! The place looks absolutely beautiful ! Loving the colors the place looks so cheerful !
Yes…it’s cheerful!!!
She had an apartment before , but you all gave her a home. ❤ I love it!!
I always watch all my videos on Saturday morning, and guess who I save for last? Yours because it's the best! Love you guys, and you never cease to amaze me with your makeovers. Beautiful?
Love your videos and your endless creativity 🎉🎉
Theses videos makes me feel so so damn good.... It makes my day.... Love you Alexander and your whole team... 😘😘😘😘😘
Loved the inspiration board the client brought -- but was sad to see the gold/brown color of the squiggle (Pinterest design more sophisticated) and the brown check in wallpaper. Why not stick with the pastels she had chosen. I would have suggested a desk with more lower storage and a longer console would again have provided the tiny space with more storage. Layout is very good.
So good looking. I usually don't like pastell colour. But this room looks so nice, friendly, cosy, beautiful and functional.
Otro maravilloso departamento..
Felicitaciones a todos gran equipo .❤desde ciudad de México
You are so talented Alexandra and you have a great team!
OMG & yippee. 1- another makeover that does not disappoint
2-hearing there's 4 vids coming in November
3-more inspiration & ideas I never saw before nor would have thought of.
4- I love seeing the team work on all aspects
5- honestly. My most anticipated video of every week.
6- I PRAY your second book coming will include lots of befores & afters unless it's a privacy thing
7- God bless you all❤
Even if it's a privacy thing the person in question can authorize its use. I'm guessing some people would because the address is never mentioned.
Absolutely beautiful team AG! Looks completely different! 💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🤗🤗🤗
All that talk about how pastels can be mature and then making her home look like a teenagers dream. The squiggle thing was a missed opportunity. A nice elevated french moulding monent would have been perfect. Also, for someone who does nails, that desk is so impractical. Melissas original look was not "cute" but she definitely had a better layout that made her place way more versatile. And the random "art" is such an ugly trend.
I love the overhead lights! The makeover was really pretty.
If this was my home, I'd never go out. So cozy, so much of pretty pastel colors. Wow just wow. One of your best works Alexandra. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
my fav thing about this beautiful makeover was the magnet hack on the picture for the electrical cover
Her reaction was so cute and you can tell how happy she was. Your makeovers exude so much joy! It’s beyond just making a pretty space. You and your team improve ppl’s livelihood. Saturday mornings are easily my favorite bc of your videos. Fave DIY/Decor/Designer on TH-cam for sure.
Yes ! You are putting happiness in people s life
You are the best. I like so much everything you decorate that I feel I need to renovate all my staff every time I watch your videos jajaja, Greetings from Spain.
This turned out beautifully one of my favorite makeovers so far! Excited to see the full apartment makeover in November ❤
That wallpaper section and frame is so genius and beautiful!! It totally separates the spaces while being a work of art.
These makeovers sometimes feel like variations of each other rather than truly being inspired by the individual person’s inspo pics. Ex. why does almost every makeover have to have a squiggle/boho bent? Her photos had a lot of classic clean lines with some floral motifs in pastel seafoam-y colors. Why put up a mustard squiggle with a tile patterned wallpaper? Why woven chairs?
I feel the same. The inspo photos were incredibly chic and had me excited… but AG’s mood board veered off into more of a teenage dream/urban outfitters ad. I don’t understand what inspired the mustard squiggle and tile wallpaper at all. Melissa had sophisticated damask and botanical patterns in her pics. The metal cabinets also seemed like an odd choice as did the boho accents. I do think Alexandra tends to revert back to her own preferred style, whether it’s intentional or not.
oh that fusebox hiding tip is genius I'll be using that immediately
I’m sorry but the inspo was giving French botanical, and the after is giving retro play house, I was expecting floral wall paper French style molding, pastel colors… just a bit off
From the inspo pictures, I was also expecting floral, especially in pink and aqua or was that turquoise? JMO, when you have a studio, I think a floor to ceiling divider is so important to section off the bed from the rest of the room. Two other observations... are the curtains close to the stove top? That scares me. I'm not a huge fan of the wallpaper-squiggly molding wall. Not a fan of the colors as I'm more into the inspo theme. I did however adore the much thinner squiggly molding in the picture, on just a painted wall. This area now skews kind of junior ish. Overall, it looks very pretty and feminine.😊
I agree, I would have painted the wall behind the bed/ living room that green color from the first inspo photo, and replaced the purple console table with a marble one like the coffee table in one of the insp pics. and then removed anything else that was purple or squiggly.
👏 bravo. It’s so amazingly beautiful. Colors are wonderful and sophisticated. I love the white top you wore at the plant shop😊 thanks
I want to start off by saying, I really enjoy watching your channel and your team rocks! But I’m really tired of 7 pastels at once with squiggles and modern art. Her inspiration felt more Parisian pastel than the direction you went. I think it would be a good artistic challenge to work in different styles a little more without just putting your favorite looks in the same way each time.
I agree, I would have painted the wall behind the bed/ living room that green color from the first inspo photo, and replaced the purple console table with a marble one like the coffee table in one of the insp pics. and then removed anything else that was purple or squiggly.
Blown away yet again! Team AG is seriously the best out there, y'all knock it out of the park every single time!! And now I definitely need some colorful lockers for my home.....
Absolutely amazing! Totally not my preferred aesthetic but I love it! You have all really levelled up in recent months you should be very proud of your growth! 👏👏
Team AG you really knocked this one out of the Park!!.
I love the colors and layout. However, I’ve noticed that you provided absolutely no lighting for the bed side or for the one and only place there is to sit and watch TV, read/ relax. Why would you put the sofa in the middle of the room like that not have any type of lighting for a person who wants to sit and read? Not very functional.
Lovely, bright and cheerful! So many great accessories, and the space is completely maximized without feeling cluttered. Especially great when she must work from her tiny home.
I love what you did but I don't really see the inspo in the final result. Yours is much more scandy when her's was a lot more eclectic and colourful, and I'm not sure about the mustard and the warm beige in the wallpaper, she had none of that in her inspo either. Again the space is really pretty but not what she was asking for ...
I love how you found a light, a little table and plant pots that are exactly the same shape! soo fun! As always really amazing makeover!
The one thing I wish y'all would do is play more with the tech aesthetics like custom keyboards, painted monitors, mouses and desk mats. This was one of my favorite makeovers you've ever done!! 🩷🩷🩷
Good idea.
To be fair, _good quality_ keyboards, monitors, and mouses are pretty expensive, especially if you're just changing them out for aesthetics. Though, of course, there are simpler swaps like keycaps available (and I think they make decals/stickers for non-mechanical keyboards,) and desk mats/mousepads are definitely a reasonable idea.
You never disappoint Your team is so creative and unique. Just keeps getting better and better. Love the swiggly trim. By the way never change your music it’s so happy just like the reveal ❤
When the video started, I thought, “She should get bangs, it would really suit her” (Although in Australia we call it a fringe). Definitely yes! Even with the filter you needed to use, it’s a super cute look for you!
*runs to get bangs*
@@AlexandraGater 😂
I thought that too.
I think the same too.
Another vote for bangs!
Nicely done. Not a fan of wallpaper behind TV but all together really nice
It's cute, but the inspo photos were more... sophisticated/less juvenile...
Agreed
Omg! I love this aesthetic 😍 it's so light and cozy. Great job, AG team 👏🏽 love from the Philippines 🇵🇭
This is really adorable💖🧡💚-however wasn’t her inspiration pics full of turquoise and pink? 🩵🌸🐬🐽
Yes that might be my only critique. There should be some turquoise in there.
It actually looks so much bigger, more function and storage. nicely done!
That bedside shelf just doesn't work. It's too small with the curve of the headboard blocking it. There are so many better options like a small stool in a fun color.
Love it! I almost cried when she saw it!
it is kind of scary the diference between the inspo and the final. the inspo is much more adult, and realistic/literal with the flowers on the paperwall. dont get me wrong, looks beautiful and fun, i would love this place, but it is sooo far along the inspo, the color palet, the style and all
Totally agree!
100% agree ... it was confusing because the girl said she loves color on the walls, and blue was her dominant color in her inspo. I didn't see any blue in her makeover, and she had white walls. It was beautiful, though. . ♡
I agree, it's giving me college dorm room vibes. I usually love the makeovers but this one wasn't my fav. It had a weird hippy vibe as well that wasn't needed.
Great Makeover!🎈🥳🎉
Your Team working together is Amazing!
Grant’s creativity upgrades the design!
He doesn’t need a ladder for this job!!!😎👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Love it as always. Just beautiful. But the bed table is to small for function. The bed head board curve will block out table while in bed.
I love these studio makeovers soo so so much ! They are not only an inspiration for my own studio but for the illustrations I create ! Keep up this magical work, you beautiful people
I loved everything in this design except for the “beside” shelf on the wall. It was too small and too far behind the curved headboard to be functional. She definitely needs something else like another poof like the one you put in the living area.
Oh yes! The colors, the furniture pieces, the accessories, the lights! Perfect!
The room looks great, but I had visualized more blue, turquoise, etc.
Same !
Melissa said her fave colors were pink and purple in the beginning!😊
@@carlysanchez1020well- Alexandra was talking about her style and hair and asked if she liked color and expression, she said yeah my favorite colors are pink and purple, she didn’t say she wanted the apartment to be those colors. The inspo pics are a huge variation from what she was given.
I completely understand her emotions on the reveal.....Not my place and I felt the same! So warm, cozy, elevated, chic, candi-beautiful! LOVE, LOVE THIS!! Well Done Team AG!!!
The result was really cute, but looked more like a tween girl's room than the very chic and classy/more sharp-edged inspiration pics the client shared...the lamp in the media area was like Brady Bunch basement wacky collection vs the modern-ish chandelier she shared.
Loved this apartment makeover. I especially loved the pink and purple cabinets and the squiggle wall trim and its wallpaper.
This is such a cute makeover. Love the squiggly border on the wall paper!
If I was 35, single, a minimalist, this is exactly what my home space would look like. You killed it Alex. And yes,go bangs.
Overall I love the design but I feel like some of the spaces end up a little cramped. The locker in the entry way is lovely, but seems a bit too deep for the space. Something the same height or a bit taller but a little less deep would have made it fell less cramped. The ottoman is also really cute but there just doesn't seem like there is enough space to walk through that area.
I am 74 and I never dreamed in 1 million years that I would like to watch this, but I do. In this particular video I think it would be exciting to tell her that she has a TV and about the picture that covers her electrical box just to see what she has to say. Love your show young lady.
Guys this is really nice! Very friendly, light and colourful and it fits Melissa personality, well done!
Everything you did is *chefs kiss*. I especially love the media console section! The wallpaper with the colorful squiggle is so unique and creative! ❤
I wish you would have saved the mustard squiggle and tiled wallpaper for a more appropriate makeover. It seems like you were excited about trying the idea vs. making sure it reflected the inspiration provided by the client. In her photos I saw very sophisticated and luxe wallpaper patterns, moulding, globe pendants, a Persian rug…. but none of these translated. I know that every designer has to put a bit of their own spin on a makeover, but this one derailed right off the path for me personally.
I agree, I would have painted the wall behind the bed/ living room that green color from the first inspo photo, and replaced the purple console table with a marble one like the coffee table in one of the insp pics. and then removed anything else that was purple or squiggly.
Yeah I think the same idea with a floral wallpaper and a vintage trim would have been much closer to the originally requested style. I was feeling very much the same as your comment, especially because Alexandra is usually really good at finding new ways to achieve the client’s goal even if it is not exactly the same as the original image.
I agree 100%. The final design has NOTHING in common with the inspiration
I read your critique before I saw this episode. I think that I have more concern about the lack of blue greens in the room, in favor of mustard and the ubiquitous (to Alexandra Gater designs) pink. The least she could have done is tune the TV artwork to something turquoise or aqua. But one of the inspiration photos included design artwork with curves and pink and yellow. I agree that the inspiration was more elegant but the woman seems pretty happy.
I have a smaller print of that green coat print. I’m looking at it now.
Maybe the video is deceptive in that it is hard to tell that the pieces Alexandra used to replace Melissa’s previous storage are actually bigger. The pink locker in the entry way is bigger in every dimension than what Melissa had before. You can tell by the pink locker’s reflection in the mirror when Alexandra is making the bed around 22 minutes into the video.
Also the console locker under the tv is about twice as wide as little cabinet Melissa had floating in front of the window. It also looks slightly deeper. Then there’s also the shelves both above the bed and the desk. The ottoman also has storage.
I don’t know if Alexandra increased under the bed storage, but she made it easier to access. And there was still space between the drawers and the headboard wall that could be used for storage.
Maybe the color of the new storage pieces made it hard to tell their actual size? Alexandra actually increased the amount of storage in the studio.
Team AG does pastels in such a stylish adult way! You never disappoint, Alexandra!
So beautiful!!!
Do the kitchen next!!! It needs some love to match the other vibe!
IM SO HAPPY FOR A NEW EPISODE! TEAM AG HAS WON MY HEART
What a lovely room! I can just imagine how pleasant it will be for Melissa to work at that desk, relax on her gorgeous couch, etc etc. I love how you delineated the zones using the wallpaper and rugs. Brilliant! Also, it’s neat how the entry light, ottoman and planters are so similarly designed. Thank you for sharing your upcoming schedule in this video; I’m one of the few(?) who is not on Instagram. The November series sounds wonderful!
One of your best jobs
You have come a long way. 💜
I love everything but...that bedside shelf. It's way too small. I would have put a bedside table on the other side of the bed. This way, it would be easier to make the bed. Or even a larger shelf that you wouldn't have to reach around the headboard to set something on it.
With all that said, BRAVO on creating a beautiful space.
This was absolutely beautiful!!! Wowww. What a transformation!!
$599 for a chair is affordable???
I am trying to buy a desk and a chair and I really trusted her recommendation, but was shocked with the price….dishonest advertisement
the light in the entry matches the plant pots! too cute!!!
Love seeing the team level up each make over! This was so colorful, fun and stunning! Go Team AG!
Ok, I love everything, except the mustard and lilac colors. The layout is beautiful as always, and the furniture is beautiful. I love everything Graham makes . Hi Graham 👋
Great redo. Very feminine. It would be nice to see a few more for men. It would be interesting to see what it costs to do a make-over. And, to see an undo of things when a tenant moves out and see exactly how much work is involved. I love your studio makeovers.
Beautiful makeover and YES to bangs.
