henry is a very nice guy, i worked at the 4 seasons restaurant in NYC for over 25 years. a lot of celebrities ate at the restaurant over that time. one day he came in with john ritter and they were the only ones that came into the kitchen to thank the cooks in those 25 years.
Great story, I'm not the least bit surprised because I've never heard anything but good things about both of them.
@@kenlompart9905 glad you appreciated it
That's a great story! It got me wondering, what did they order? My guess is the chef(s) knew in advance who the dishes were for and prepared something special.
@@JSark-by2ts sorry but i don't remember what they ordered. it was over 20 years ago and i didn't even know they were eating at the restaurant until they came into the kitchen afterward so i'm not sure what they ate.
as to preparing something special, i don't think so, most of the celebrities that came in just ordered from the menu, but it was usually a standard practice to give them an hordurve( not going to even attempt to spell it right) and a free middle course

Why is it that the wealthy are give free stuff but the rest of us have to pay for everything?
We must protect Henry Winkler at all costs.
A National Treasure.
He is the best.
All Facts!!!!!
Why does he need more protecting than, say, our children in school?
Nah cover him in bees
This man has a gift for story telling….was captivated the entire interview
At the end I was left wanting more. I could sit there for 2 hours listening to him tell stories.
Was lucky enough to have met several celebrities when I worked in LA. Winkler was by far the nicest Celeb I ever met
The Rocky script story is still blowing my mind!🤯
Think about all the cool stuff that never happened due to wrong turns in the universe.
I met Henry at at an art gallery in Santa Monica 22 years ago - I rode my triumph there and was in full motorcycle regalia, high cuffed Levis, engineer boots, leather jacket - I asked if it was true he couldn't actually ride and he told me this same story. I've told others and I suspect they didn't believe me so I'm glad to see him tell the same story here...
Saw Lords of Flatbush as a kid never once thought I'd be watching 2 future great actors.
How could you not love to just sit there and listen to Henry tell you stories of life and experiences.
Gotta love Henry. Not only did he play one of TV's most beloved characters but he's been THE MAN behind the scenes for decades.
Man I love Henry Winkler.. seems like such a great guy to be around.
Had a friend meet him one time. Said he is THE nicest guy in the world
This is so good. I grew up watching Happy Days and loved "The Fonze." Henry Winkler is absolutely a great storyteller. Would be great if he did a podcast.
This man is a national treasure.
Probably the best celebrity true or false ever!!!!! Henry Winkler you're a legend!!! Can stop laughing!! 😂😂😂
As a kid, I always thought the Fonz was cool! Now, as an adult, I see Henry Winkler is the coolest!!
Italy here. Everybody still remembers and love the Fonz.
Henry Winkler, OMG. What a legend...
Massive Henry Winkler fan!! he has such a good personality
Thank you for being part of my childhood !!
❤️.
My god, every time I watch an interview with Henry Winkler it's even better than the last one.
So cool the story about the Fonz's motorcycle was the same motorcycle Steve McQueen rode in The Great Escape, because McQueen's leather jacket from that movie is the same jacket Colonel Hogan wore in Hogan's Heroes.
Only Mr. Winkler was misinformed or remembers incorrectly. Fonzie's bike was a 1949 Triumph Trophy 500. McQueen's bike was a 1963 Triumph 650cc TR6R.
@@peppers8489 It was a 1962 Triumph... but I love Winklers version better lol
@@lakeozarkrei3767 yes you are right. My fat fingers often hit the wrong key and I don't always catch it.
I tend to believe he was misinformed, the guy(Bud Ekins) who built and rode (for the jump in The Great Escape) Steve McQueen's bike built the three Triumphs for Happy Days
I did the nod thing with Kiefer Sutherland years ago in Schiphol airport...he smiled and nodded back...probably grateful I wasn't going to bother him...just a polite moment.
I've never understood the urge to prove someone met some stranger.
I was just watching The Waterboy the other night for the first time since it came out. Henry Winkler is the man.
That was the fastest 7 minutes and 14 seconds of my TH-cam viewing life
Heard from someone who has met many celebrities and this guy remains as the nicest of them all.
This might be the best celebrity interview ever. How has none of this info ever been revealed before? AAYYYYYYYY
I like that Rocky story. Imaging being one of those poor saps who turned down the Rocky script - it would be like tossing away a winning lottery ticket or turning down the first Harry Potter manuscript.
@beardley
Let's say you have a set of lotto numbers - the same numbers, every week. Then, one week, you decide to not buy a ticket. And THAT'S the week your numbers come up.
As painful as that might be, you can imagine that happening. That's essentially what happened.
I get it - you can't buy every script. And, in fairness, the vast majority of scripts do suck and should, rightly, be rejected. It just that one - that diamond in the rough - that you saw and turned down. That's gotta hurt.
They didn't turn down the script, they bought it, but they wanted a different writer for the re-writes and Stallone wouldn't agree to that so he had Henry Winkler get it back for him.
Henry Winkler is a national treasure.
His story of regret regarding McQueen reminds me of a time in the 90s when I was walking through Dulles Airport, and Henry was sitting on a low wall looking like he was absolutely miserable about something. I recognized him instantly, of course, but out of respect for his privacy I didn't speak to him. On the way home I began to wish that I had just gone up to him and said something like, "Mr. Winkler, I don't know what's troubling you right now, but I'd like to say that you brought a lot of joy into the lives of a lot of people for a lot of years, and that I know this because my family and I are among those people, so thank you." Here it is almost 30 years later and I still wish I'd said that to him.
And then just like that it was over - *I WANT MORE HENRY WINKLER! DAMN IT!*
Henry Winkler is the man period!!!!
Think about how good an actor Henry Winkler was! How nice, unassuming and funny he is... and he was the FONZ!
"here's another story"
The triumph motorcycle now sits in Richard Rawlings living room window.💯💖
this is really excellent stuff to see and hear. Thanks Rich for you efforts.
This interview was awesome!
How can you not love Henry Winkler lol I love how he tells stories.
This is why I STILL TO THIS DAY LOVE HAPPY DAYS ❤👍
Henry is a good guy. He looked after sly by not screwing him over. I love seeing him in anything
I could listen to his stories all day
People keep remarking about the mistake with the bikes, that McQueen rode a different bike in the movie. But listen carefully to what Henry says, he never said McQueen rode that bike in the movie, only that he jumped the fence with it, it may very well have been a stunt bike used only in that one scene.
Just a thought.
"The Fonz" will ALWAYS be...the COOLEST CHARACTER EVER!!!!!...EVER!!!!!!!
One day I was walking down the street in L.A. with my head down when I heard a man say to me, "how are you today?" I looked up and it was Henry Winkler. Super nice man.
Why are these "facts" (purportedly) just coming out? These are historical nuggets of information that should be common knowledge by now.
I find myself watching this video a few times a week..
Celebrity True Or false turned into Story Time With Uncle Henry. 🤣🤣
Lots of love to you Henry!
One of his best acting performances was in An American Christmas Carol. He played the Character of Ben Slade.
What a fantastic guest
I can't tell if Winkler is drunk or...just such a legend he gets to interrupt whenever he feels like it because...he's the Fonz.
No problems either way. You talk about this show with people a generation or two older than me...so people in their 50s or 60s...this guy is just the biggest icon they could imagine.
He's hilarious though either way.
Both the host and the guest are interrupting each other
HENRY WINKLER IS HILARIOUS
So humble and nice
i 💘 love this show and i grew up loving Henry's Winkler's 😅
I have a friend who works building sets. He says Henry Winkler is the nicest guy of all.
Rich was getting mad he kept getting interrupted! 😂
You noticed that Winkler kept interrupting him too. It was kinda bugging me too.
To be honest, I don't think he was. Look at Rich's responses after each interruption, usually when people are upset they do the 'uhhuh' or 'okay', but Rich was more than happy to hear Everything that could come out of Henry's mouth because he in fact is old enough, as I am, to have grown up w/ Henry and respects the h*ll out of him. You can just Feel the admiration. 💚
Not mad, happy. Rich is smart enough to know it was gold and he just needed to give Henry space. A good interviewer knows when to shut up
The Fonz is 76❗
That's SO FIYAHHHH❗❗🙌🏽
Its amazing to me that someone who is beloved for playing an iconic character, is actually a greater character in real life.
Absolute legend.
Henry Winkler was is a class act and he helped Sly when Henry was the big star and could do things other people couldn't.
OMG he is one of the most naturally funny humans I've ever seen. LOL!!
Henry Winkler is a gift
Still love the Fonz !
Man Rich, I loved the fonz. In middle school I wore a fonz t-shirt all the time
👍aaaa! I had Welcome Back Kotter socks.😔
Such an interesting individual,such longevity.
So many actors could fit tomes between their soul and character nowadays.
Good to know you can't even squeeze a piece of paper between Jack Nicholson's.
Thongs change scent from one end to the other. Knowledge is power. God bless.
Wow man The Fonz is a great story teller, he’s so funny!
The story about the Triumph motorcycle is priceless.
Anybody know where the bike is today?
I saw that motorcycle at the Gilmore Auto Museum in Hickory Corners Michigan about 3 years ago.
Lords of Flatbush!!! Fonzie in that movie!!
It is the best celebrity true or false!
Great stories.
Why do they cut these clips off halfway through?
Great stories
Winkler is beyond legendary. Aye!!! 👍
This guy once ran off a bunch of thugs that were bullying Richie, actually more than once.
Henry was also brilliant in Arrested Development
Henry Winkler is FUCKIN AWESOME❗❗
Amazing in Barry
It just strikes me as being so strange how Sylvester Stallone when he was so young and all these connections and money and influence to make things happen so early in life. I think we're missing a big part of what makes Sylvester Stallone what he is.
Stallone story is amazing.
Rich loves that “production value” joke
I could swear there's a scene during a montage of his love affair with Pinky Tuscadero showing them both riding motorcycles together.
Speaking of Pinky Tuscadero, Rich should've asked, "True or false. You and the actress who played Pinky Tuscadero never liked each other."
The real answer is "True," but Winkler probably would've been PC about it.
Does Rich have to continually bring up the "production value" of True/False bit?!
True Legend
Aaaa, It's "The Fonz", Aaaa! 👍👍
Gotta love Henry Tinkled
Henry is the best.
Henry Winkler is a good person.
What happened to the last couple of questions, it just ended abruptly? He probably has a hundred more cool stories!
What WAS the game show??
Legend
I never understand why a man would not want to learn how to ride a motorcycle! It is some of the greatest fun you become part of the machine I personally feel it's great!
I have heard Henry tell his Rocky story at 5 other times
It's a great story. Stallone has his own well known version.
Henry is one cool dude.
Marvelous man ! Hilarious !
I wonder if there is going to be a big 50-year tv show or movie about happy days tv series?
DeNiro is in a straight jacket yelling about Trump.
All the motorcycle stories he's telling is 100% true. The Great Escape Motorcycle had been repainted since the Great Escape was made but that is the motorcycle
Nope!
I like the movie where he played a Vietnam veteran . Harrison Ford did a small role in it as a war buddy .
With Sally Field?
@@stevemccurdy9201 I think so yeah .
What a great storyteller, they could’ve gone for another hour
He's so kooky, I just love him. Now cover him with bees....
Steve McQueen had a TR6 in the Great Escape.
Fonzies was a 250. Still a Triumph but not the same.
