I'm an old school metalhead and I love the Bee Gees! So many great songs from them. I really hope you explore more of their music. Loved this reaction, Aileen. 😊
Reformed 80's metal head as well. It took me a few decades to overcome my Johnny Fever (the DJ from WKRP in Cincinatti's obsession with "death to disco") induced bigotry towards disco, and The Bee Gees were one of the groups that helped me to overcome that bigotry.
@@IRGeamer For me, early disco is awesome. Before the drum machines, sequencers and synth strings/horns. Give me a good rhythm section, some funky guitar with some horns or strings and I am in. That said, I Feel Love is an awesome track, it's just the aftermath that followed that kind of sucked the soul out of disco.

The Bee Gees were THE sound of the seventies. They not only performed a prolific array of songs, they also wrote almost as many for other artists. However, any time I see one of their videos, it's a bitter-sweet experience, reminding me of the tragedy of Barry losing his brothers. He is still touring, and keeps their memory alive.
@@OriginalPuroFYI they hated the term disco. They called their music contemporary r&b and blue eyed soul. They were labeled as the poster child for disco and suffered an undeserved backlash that lasted another decade almost because of it. They moved on but some people wouldn't let them

You got one of the deepest rabbit hole. They wrote songs for Diana Ross, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Dionne Warwick, and many more. The Bee Gees have 60+ years of music.
I grew up in a house filled with all different types of music, and The Bee Gees was always on everyones playlist. It's awesome that you have discovered them.
Best group ever! Wrote over 1000 songs over a 40 plus year career! Too much Heaven, Nights on Broadway, Night Fever, Fanny be tender with my love, More than a Woman. 3 brothers from the UK singing together since little kids. Barry was lead on this one. Twins Robin and Maurice took the deeper parts. Their story is amazing as they've had their share of triumph and tragedies. Live recommendation would be Medley Australia 1987 or 89. Can't remember offhand. Includes 60s, 70s and 80s songs. 😊

80's Metal head, and The Brothers Gibb are LEGENDS for a reason! They wrote and did background vocals for the Amazing hit song EMOTION with lead singer Samantha Sang!
Barry, shortly after the death of Robin, said he would have given all their success and fame to have his brother back. Their bond was very strong, to say the least.

This is my childhood basically. My brothers and I spun this record among many others daily. Too Much Heaven must be next please. Amazing song. Love your channel.
I remember being a kid growing up in the mid 90s & the BeeGees One Night Only concert came on the public tv station on a Saturday night. I was so enthralled with the music that I begged my folks to let me stay up late and watch the whole concert. They told me that I could stay up and that this music was popular when they were in school back in the 70s. Some of my favorite songs of theirs are: Grease(they wrote it & Frankie Valli sang it for the movie but they sang it in the concert I mentioned earlier), Staying Alive, Jive Talking and You Should Be Dancing. Again I highly recommend their One Night Only concert, that will have all of the songs to listen to. Enjoy ! !
They been singing together since they were little. They are brothers YOU know!!!!! YOU have a long way to go, not a bad sing at all!!!!! HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!
For a little Bee Gees funk check out "Nights on Broadway" live. They were inspired by the funk music coming out of Philadelphia in the early seventies. The first appearance of Barry's falsetto is on the studio recording. Live however Maurice (pronounced Morris) sings the falsetto parts. The Midnight Special performance is my favorite.
Just found your channel. I just love your reaction to this song. The Bee Gees makes me feel so good inside with a sense of peace no matter the song. Just a few suggestions. To Love Somebody, Too Much Heaven, How Do You Mend a Broken Heart , Lonely Days, Jive Talking, You Should Be Dancing, This is Where I Came in. Oops I got carried away! Seriously these guys have over 1,000 in their catalogue. The journey is awesome!
Great reaction to a great song! 👏 I love rock'n roll, heavy metal and prog rock, but I also love the way these guys sing and some of their songs - hits from the Disco Era: "I started a joke"; "Stayin' alive"; "Tragedy"; "Too much heaven"; "You should be dancing".
Bee Gees have one of the best harmonies and Barry’s falsetto is the best. You should react to Love So Right. Another great slow song. Love You Inside Out is one of my favorites. I’m 57 years old and so glad to see younger generations appreciate the music I grew up listening to. God bless 🙏🏽
You nailed it when you asked if anyone danced to this at thier prom. It was in every high school dance and every prom for years. I certanly danced to this many times in high school.
To counterbalance the metalheads who have commented :), I was heavily into country rock/outlaw country during the 70's. But seriously, no matter what kind of music you like how can you not love the BeeGees? They truly defined the era.
I'm 30. I loved Bee Gees since I was in elementary school. Bee Gees and Metallica were my dads fave... he would always play these 2 bands every day. Up till this day he is still playing the songs..
They were so big back in the day, it's great that they're being rediscovered, I suggest that you react, 'Too Much Heaven' next and then, 'You Should be Dancing' as it shows you the opposite side to them.
I always associated the Bee Gees with disco music, so I was insanely surprised when o heard the song To Love Somebody, by them. I’ve heard a few other songs of theirs that divert from that disco style that I had linked with them.
Just subbed. Love watching Bee Gees newbies. Too Much Heaven, You Win Again, Run to Me, Kiss of Life, Blue Island, Bodyguard... anything actually. I could list up 50 more and all of them with ear-popping melodies, lyrics, harmonies. Best group ever. 100 top 10 hits globally through the years. 6 consecutive numbers 1s.
Greetings & Salutations. Gen Xer here. I was four years old when this song come out, along with the film SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER. You have no idea just how enormously popular The Bee Gees were. This song, along with all their other songs from the soundtrack, became a phenomenon. Fun Fact: they became the first band since The Beatles to have five songs on the Billboard Top 5 chart. My parents played this album over and over again. They are a part of the soundtrack to my youth, as well as my life. The Bee Gees were an amazing band. Glad you enjoyed the song!
I fell in love to this song and all the others. My husband died last year, and these songs brought back all the emotions of us dancing and being in love. Thanks for sharing ....❤
This is awesome that you're reacting to this! You emote such genuine emotion in your reaction! Music has no bounds and will always keep evolving. Music is NEVER out of fashion. New sub here from Hi Ren and your channel! Much ❤ from Waukesha Wisconsin!
True Metalheads like us, actually can admire and love all kinds of music. I grew up on 80's metal and still am a Metalhead. You would have loved MTV's Headbangers Ball that used to play on Friday and Saturday nights at midnight! Jammed out so much! Keep on rockin'! The Bee Gees are smooth as glass.
I found your Channel looking for Bee Gees reactions. I graduated High School in 1982 so I danced to this Bee Gees Song and others at my school dances including at Prom and Parties and also Skated to the Song at the Skating Rink
Criminal shame how often these brothers are dismissed because they are disco. They are so talented and really paint a soulful picture for the listeners.
I gre up in this era and yes I danced with many females to this song. It played at many of the dances and dance competitions as well. The Bee Gees were a great addition to the times and still are. I say your thumbnail and said you have to have a sweet voice and listening to you I was right you have a great voice, first time viewing your channel and sub'd to it now as well. Thanks Aileen,
52 year old metal head , but before the 80's metal scene reeled me, there was the bee gees which I still love to this day, there harmonies and songwriting was a league of there own. How deep is your love was on Saturday night fever soundtrack which got played a lot in my house growing up Bee gees along with other 70's bands, singers. When I got older when my music listening was changing to the 80's hard rock they were always high on my list of favorite band/singers . There are several songs on that soundtrack that never get old. Stayin alive, you should be dancing, more than a woman, night fever, If I can't have you, etc, etc.
If you were alive in the '70s after Saturday Night Fever came out, you couldn't escape the Bee Gees. They came out of every radio and in stores playing music. They had a true metamorphosis, starting out in the '60s as a basic rock and roll trio before embracing disco. Those of us that were there from the beginning kind of rebelled against the disco phase, but no denying the talent.
So music was very segregated in the 70s. Rock and Roll people (me) and dance music people (not me).I was a rock guy, Zepplin, AC/DC, Boston, Bruce, Petty etc. Sat night fever came out (huge John Travolta Disco movie). I drove 30 min out of town to see it, lol. Didn't want my friends seeing me watching disco. Fantastic song, amazing movie, great sound track. This was from the sound track. Anyway, Bee Gees were biggest selling band in the 70's and this might have been their biggest hit. Homework, go watch Saturday Night Fever and enjoy
In these very difficult times - your enthusiasm and way of expressing your love of music -- is such a positive vibe . You probably don't realize how much you can give us a few minutes of joy . You truly have that 'something extra ' . ~ thank you for that .
The best things about some of these old love song is, they sung about love. Unapologetically, directedly in your grill. They were uncompromising about their commitment to LOVE. There was no 'ho' this or that, it was just kind, and loving. What a concept for a love song.
Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s the Bee Gee was blasting out our home stereo. Because my mom loved them so I was very young the time I heard them . Now I’m a metal/hard rocker but I’ve got a lot of love for the Bee Gee . And yes I seen my mom and dad dance to this at a New Year’s party . “Too much heaven” happens to be my girl and I ‘s songs
The bee gees mean the brothers gibb . They where from Manchester uk and moved to Australia then came back to make stardom. Saturday night fever was their masterpiece in the seventies ( great film stars John travolta as the main man)
There have been many great harmonies over the years, but when you think that it is one singer, then realize that it is actually three...that's just otherworldly. And yes, many of us slow danced in High School to this.
Im a 50 year old Gen X bass playing Aussie. But these guys are legendary.. Every song a smash.. These guys WERE the 70s!! Written or performed songs with so many other artists as well.. Actually born in the UK, but started on the Australian Music scence when they were like 9-15 Some of the most beautiful songs ever written.. but also SERIOUS Disco.. Dont ya just love a na na nah nah nah nah bit!!!!
I consider myself rather musically sheltered as a child, not starting to listen to many classic rock bands until the 90's, but the Bee Gees were one of my mother's favorites from the 70's, well represented in her record collection. They did become a big part of the Disco era, and the famous 'Saturday Night Fever' soundtrack. They were 3 brothers, if I'm remembering correctly. 'Staying Alive' is their most iconic song.
Hi From the Sunshine State of Florida 🌞 I was Fortunate enough to see them live in Concert Right before Robin & Maurice Past away And Now I hear Barry has throat cancer !!! Still they had many Hits and the most requested song usually is 1) Too much Heaven 2) To Love Somebody 3) I started a Joke 4) Tragedy 5) Nights on Broadway 6) More than a woman 7) You should be Dancing 8) Words 9) Night Fever 10) How do you mend A Broken Heart Still the worked with Amazing Female artists Like 1) Samantha Sangs ( Emotion) 2) Yvonne Elliman ( If I can't have You ) 3) Barbra Streisand ( Guilty ) Also they had A brother Andy who had A solo Career who also sadly passed 1) I want to be your everything 2) Shadow Dancing These song should keep you Busy with many more to go !!! Yes I have Illuminated the like button 🔘 🎶🎵🎸🎹😁👍👍😎
I love hard rock and metal and I love the BeeGees music. The lead singer is the oldest brother and the only surviving brother. They had a younger brother, Andy, who was only 30 when he passed away in 1988. You cannot go wrong with any of their songs.
Hi, Aileen! I just discovered your channel today and it was cool that this was the first video reaction I saw from you and it couldn't have been a better song. I have always felt that this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written and the Bee Gees one definitely a one-of-a-kind group.
I grew up during the disco years. While I listening to Hard Rock//Metal and play metal guitar, the Bee Gees were also one of my favorites. No auto-tune back then. So what you hear is unfiltered... ;-)
I grew up hearing the Bee Gees because my older sibs loved em. Barry Gibb was an incredible singer and songwriter in particular. Love your reactions, Aileen (especially when you raise your eyebrows) 😘
Most reactors tend to play songs from the disco era only. If you go back to 1970, the song LONELY DAYS reached #3 in the US and #1 worldwide ... this was the Bee Gees' first Top 5 hit in the US. Also, just prior to all those disco hits, their album "Nights on Broadway" had many great songs, including: NIGHTS ON BROADWAY and FANNY BE TENDER .... Nice channel
Another metal head here, but i always appreciate talent and the BeeGees were born with talent. They were born to harmonize and spread love and beauty in music. RIP Robin and Maurice. Also it very interesting to think that about the same time this came out bands like Judas priest were just hitting their stride.
it's such a beautiful thing to watch you discover old school classics! I was a pre-teen in that Era and remember me and my 5 siblings along with countless cousins listening to the bee gees together while our parents were playing dominoes even though their enlish wasn't perfect they didn't mind as long as we let them play in peace lol....ahhh the good Ole days. plz check out "too much heaven " by them
The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced). From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too th-cam.com/video/7niXSh7vWRI/w-d-xo.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: th-cam.com/video/WH_j90fCIk4/w-d-xo.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out th-cam.com/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/w-d-xo.html. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: th-cam.com/video/MT9vRHSWNbk/w-d-xo.html. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you th-cam.com/video/CA4CInDnTk8/w-d-xo.html. And from the 1990's the simple song Blue Island live in an accoustic version: th-cam.com/video/162GlAEpfrY/w-d-xo.html.
I remember when the Bee Gees re-emerged with the disco era of the mid-late 70's along with the movie Saturday Night Fever. They originally started out being called The Brothers Gibb which morphed into the Bee Gees.
great reaction you look like we did in the seventies just mesmerized by their music the Saturday Night Fever sound track is still top 5 in all time sales. most metal heads like myself hated disco but the BeeGees had the best harmonies in the history of music. takes me back to a better time. their music transcends time and outlived them or most of them. this song is 50 years old
Aileen a beautiful reaction and can i say a beautiful lady .the bee gees originally born in my home city Manchester england but they where true artists and entertainment love from me ❤❤❤❤.
Aileen, I think you would love the Bee Gees' song "Don't Forget to Remember". It is a country-ish ballad with orchestral strings and one of my favorites ever.
Such a sweet song with beautiful harmonisation and vocal flourishes. All done very tastefully, not too much and not too little. I love the way you sway by the way haha

Yeah this is a slow dance classic. That bass, the effortless falsetto. 🖤
Bee Gees, 1967 "Words." One of their best. They first appeared singing on TV as teenagers in the early 60's.
100%. Saturday Night Fever is still the best soundtrack ever. The Bodyguard may have sold more but I still favor Saturday Night Fever!
I fell in love to this song and all the others. My husband died last year, and these songs brought back all the emotions of us dancing and being in love. Thanks for sharing
....❤
This song will always be in the soundtrack of my life. Great reaction. Loved it. R.
TOO MUCH HEAVEN is a gorgeous slow jam. Great reaction.
Such an iconic band .. The trio of brothers were all born singers z 😀👍
Too Much Heaven
Staying Alive
You owe it to yourself love to check those two out.
The best things about some of these old love song is, they sung about love. Unapologetically, directedly in your grill. They were uncompromising about their commitment to LOVE. There was no 'ho' this or that, it was just kind, and loving. What a concept for a love song.
yes mate, bang on, very little romance these days
@@ronwatson1918 ... And it's a damn shame Ron, we need it now more than ever.
Its the lyrics combined with the harmony. Takes me back to my early childhood days…
You should watch Saturday Night Fever….love The Bee Gees 🙏🏻❤️
The first concert I ever attended was Bee Gees, about 1978 i think. One of my favorite groups altogether.
The bee gees mean the brothers gibb . They where from Manchester uk and moved to Australia then came back to make stardom. Saturday night fever was their masterpiece in the seventies ( great film stars John travolta as the main man)
It was the 70’s they belonged to us❤
They have a very long playlist of hits, they had hits from the sixties through the seventies! Sold 220 million records!
I was in 3rd grade when this came out, it's was definitely school dance music.
There have been many great harmonies over the years, but when you think that it is one singer, then realize that it is actually three...that's just otherworldly.
And yes, many of us slow danced in High School to this.
I love them singing Too Much Heaven
I still listen to this ❤ I could never do those high vocals because my voice cracks 😂
It was a great song and you had a great reaction to it. Plus, you're looking good, girl.
SIMPLY RED “holding back the years” this is a must ❤
Oh man.. girl can dance.. shall we :) Everyone danced to the BeeGees back in the day!. Many, many couples were put together with these tunes. Cheers
Im a 50 year old Gen X bass playing Aussie. But these guys are legendary.. Every song a smash.. These guys WERE the 70s!!
Written or performed songs with so many other artists as well..
Actually born in the UK, but started on the Australian Music scence when they were like 9-15
Some of the most beautiful songs ever written.. but also SERIOUS Disco..
Hi From the Sunshine State of Florida 🌞 I was Fortunate enough to see them live in Concert Right before Robin & Maurice

I think what they did in the 60s and 70s before the disco stuff was their best music 🎶
Another metal head here, but i always appreciate talent and the BeeGees were born with talent. They were born to harmonize and spread love and beauty in music. RIP Robin and Maurice. Also it very interesting to think that about the same time this came out bands like Judas priest were just hitting their stride.
Aileen, You're pure magic, just continue on this way, with great music songs and Yours Fantastic presence. Thanks for giving such joy
it's such a beautiful thing to watch you discover old school classics!
Watching the video of Staying Alive is the best fun! Barry Gibbs was absolutely gorgeous!
I remember when the Bee Gees re-emerged with the disco era of the mid-late 70's along with the movie Saturday Night Fever.
They originally started out being called The Brothers Gibb which morphed into the Bee Gees.
great reaction you look like we did in the seventies just mesmerized by their music the Saturday Night Fever sound track is still top 5 in all time sales. most metal heads like myself hated disco but the BeeGees had the best harmonies in the history of music. takes me back to a better time. their music transcends time and outlived them or most of them. this song is 50 years old
The Bee Gees were brothers from the UK and also lived in Australia. They were huge in the 70s and early 80s.
Yes I danced to this Song in High School. Looking back at it it was so sickenly sweet and I miss those days lol
