    Been doing this for over 20 years. Mostly commercial. Mason is on point mostly. I think the re-bar needed to have epoxy and the hole blown out. Bt pretty good job. Started my own business this year. I got all the same gear makita love that saw no more pulling baby oh yeah what a time saver.
    And even though Stabila put those handy dandy guards on them if possible don't hit your level kids!😅

    N I C E !!! THANK YOU for a
    💥wow💥 video! Lots of figuring. Doing a start and end and then filling up the middle, I'd surely either have a gaping gap or a jam-up and jelly-tight mell-of-a-hess at meeting point! You do professional work and you showed the proper way to do a complicated job and made it look easy! THANK YOU, AGAIN !
    I'm subbing.

    You my friend are an inspiration for your generation. I'm 65 and so proud of you. Most people your age won't work in the trades and want a easy sit down job. I hope you are charging people what you are worth. If someone can make 20 dollars a hour at McDonald's I hope your bidding you and your workers way higher. You have mad skills. Good luck to you and again, you made me proud.

    I'm a little confused, maybe because I live in Canada. I was always told not to fill them with mortar or concrete. It can stay wet too long and cause cracking. Everyone told me here to fill with sand. Is that the climate here? Is that even true? I live in Alberta and it's very dry here (prairies). The frost line goes down to 7 feet. Does anyone know about this?

    What kinda of finish is on that concrete patio? Looks like a bull float finish 😁👊

      I just magged behind the screed. I’m putting flagstone on it so it’ll be covered. Otherwise I’d never leave it looking like that

    Mason, when does a person have to fill the cavities? Above certain courses? Always?

    Nice job , hope you show the stone work . We stick directly to new block but I think you still use lath and scratch coat, looking forward to your stone work

    • @masonthemason6412
      @masonthemason6412  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For this wall I can pay the stone right on it the reason I did the lath and scratch coat on the other was bc the block was painted so the mortar wouldn’t stick to it. Hopefully it’s soon

    Hi Mason, I follow you with interest and thank you for your instructional videos.
    What model of laser are you using in this video?
    Is there a way to calculate the slope of 80 feet long ground without a laser?

    • @masonthemason6412
      @masonthemason6412  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a stabilia laser. You can use a string line

  • @giovannifiorentino8947

    M, are there going to be any horizontal reinforcements? And also is the new wall goin to be tie to the existing one?

    • @masonthemason6412
      @masonthemason6412  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s only 3 courses so don’t really need horizontal reinforcement. I would drill right into the finished basement bc it’s a superior wall. It’s only like a inch thick concrete

    Hey Mason, what brand trowel and levels are you using ? Great videos keep them coming

    • @masonthemason6412
      @masonthemason6412  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ox tools for the trowel, and stabila for the levels

  • @Murunugis

    @MasonTheMason probably not good idea to throw mortar into the block? It does not enable for concrete to get connection with the footer. At least that is what is taught in my country.

    Hi, at the 12:35sec you had to pinch a lot in order to accommodate the block work, can you explain why and how you did it please.
    Great vids btw.

      I had a height to hit that was established already. So where I was building it was too high on my 8in increments so I had to make the bed joints smaller to make the courses go back to 8in increments
