Used to work at a retail store across the street from a nightclub. We had no less than SIX warning signs, and people would still call and harass us that the "signs weren't visible" enough or obvious enough, that "other people weren't getting towed", that we were horrible people for towing since the store was closed at that time. People would pee all over the lot, leave beer bottles everywhere, walk through the landscaping, throw their cigarettes all over the place, leave fast food trash in the lot, puke everywhere, etc etc. We put up a chain gate, and would frequently find it broken or cut the next day. Some people ended up getting charged with vandalism in addition to their tow fee. Security cameras were invaluable. The best part was always when I would try and warn people that they would get towed, only to get the finger or told to eff off. On those special occasions, I would reach out to the tow company personally and lend a helping hand by letting them know there were unauthorized vehicles in the lot, and "suggesting" which ones had been there the longest and needed towing first 😉

@@anonyninja7737 In a lot of cities parking is scarce, so if you were to own a business and you only had a couple parking spots you wouldn't want people parking there who weren't there for your business. I know it sucks, but considering it is private property they can pretty much tell you how it is. Would you like it if your neighbors suddenly started parking in your driveway?
I was thinking he parked so close to avoid getting towed. It is a narrow alley. Had another car been close on his other side he might have been safe. No such luck for our idiot of the day.
I didn't know the sign was so simple and clear. Usually they have line after line of print you have to read, sometimes allowing a certain time frame for parking. Not these. Guess they considered saying eff it and trying, but like you said, "Nope, not tryin to spend a tow and store today!"
It's entitlement drilled into their brains. The same ones that don't think speed limits don't apply to them because their vehicle has 600 hp. They also don't think they belong at the end of a line and will cut in front because they just have a quick question.
Agreed. I think such people who get into adulthood still with that mindset can only have been massively enabled by those around them who must be the ones who give in to the person's tantrums all their life to get them to the point they think they can get whatever they want if they scream loud enough. Sometimes they're sadly not wrong since a lot of people don't want to bother with a noisy, dramatic person and will just give them what they want to get rid of them which only reinforces their entitled mindset.
I drive tow truck in a tourist town, we impound off private property a lot in the summer. Many of them say "what gives you the right?" Well the business that called us because their customers can't park there gives us the right! Then they try to negotiate a lower bill unsuccessfully. I got sent to release one on a weekend. We charge $65 to attend the yard on the weekend as office is not staffed after hours. When I got there one of the other drivers was washing his truck so they got all pissy cause he was already there. "Well they are paying me to release it, so your paying or you can come back Monday and pay for storage too." They payed then left a negative Google review
thats 90% of people's default response to things too. i think if people used just a couple of seconds thinking about things, we would see a drastic reduction in that number. however, we cannot be bothered.
2:22 Excellent way to tell two stories at once "There are no signs." "The signs are confusing." "I'm from out of town." "I work here." "I don't see you towing anyone else." "That other didn't get towed." Forgot one: "The dog ate my homework,"
I love watching self entitled pricks get owned. The saddest part of the whole story, is that I’m sure he still feels as if he was in the right all along
I used to work for a parking department. We wrote tickets and towed people. The people who chose to park in the fire lane or block people in, or not put .25 in the meter were always the "victims". First they'd cry and plead saying they were only gone 2 minutes (usually more like 30-60), then they'd get angry and flip us off, cuss us out, etc. They could park right on top of a "NO PARKING: FIRE LANE" written in big yellow letters and claim they didn't know.
Watching the narrated phone conversation reminded me of that Jack Reacher movie where the bad guy is on the phone trying to lay down the rules for Reacher, and Reacher keeps hanging up on him mid-sentence. It really took away bad guy's "power".
Driving tow truck, you wouldn't believe the crap people tell you. I was doing a police impound and the dude asked if he could come with me to the impound lot. Uh, no, you don't have AAA buddy.

He can't believe it that somebody actually held him accountable for something. I love those tow trucks that you can back up and automatically grab the car without getting out of the truck. Of course, yes, you have to usually put straps on these further down the road. But I am a big fan of repo videos and have seen a lot of people saved by this automatic method. They can grab and go without having to worry about putting straps on while someone is trying to beat them up. Plus they can grab the vehicles more quickly in general.
The attachment on the back of the tow truck's arm is called a "Stinger" (mostly because that's what it looks like in the 'open' position). And as you gathered, it allows the tow op., to quickly get the vehicle wheel set into a wheel cradle position on the tow arm. Then it's just a matter of lifting it up and moving the vehicle to a location that is more 'secure' to properly get the tire-securement harnesses onto the wheels of the towed vehicle before they adjourn to the local impound lot with their catch-of-the-hour.
I've no idea how or why TH-cam has recommended these videos to me 3 years down the line, but I ain't mad - the savagery in the editing is unmatched, and I feel a solid binge-watch coming on! Bravo! 😆
Never park underneath a sign that says "Unauthorized parking will be towed @ owners expense" & then expect to see your unattended vehicle be where you left it...this comes under the heading of common sense....but IT IS DALLAS... so you can't expect people to know how to read..

that truck is beautiful - if somebody took that thing from me just because i was parked on some line a human being painted on the ground, i'd be VERY upset, too. I'm so glad we made towing illegal where I live. Where I'm at, nobody OTHER THAN the owner can have a vehicle towed UNLESS it has been abandoned for 48+ hours, or is posing a danger. It should be ILLEGAL for private companies to do this...... they should be getting TICKETS AND FINES they pay , so the money goes back to the city - not in some tow truck owners pocket.
@@anonyninja7737 In a lot of cities parking is scarce, so if you were to own a business and you only had a couple parking spots you wouldn't want people parking there who weren't there for your business. I seriously hate when people just don’t accept it’s their on fault and act like they are the victim of some wrong doing.
FallingGalaxy , funny, you’re describing tRump. That answers a lot.

I don't think ass wipe is smart enougt to know how wrong he was.
I lost it when you had the guy go around the building like a map. Still in giggles.

His Dad won't answer his calls anymore.
This tends to happen when you raise your children and you never tell them the word NO.
It's a concept that's foreign to his generation...actions have consequences.
Snatch truck
Bravo! 😆
