  • Myopia is increasing around the world, not only causing blurred vision, but also risk to eye health and possible vision loss. Why is it increasing, genes and/or environment?

    Dr. Craig.
    I deeply appreciate your efforts.
I believe that early prevention is possible, for an Engineer, who understands that all eyes are dynamic systems, and that myopia can be prevented if the person will commit to wearing a plus for all close work, before he goes below 20/50 (-0.5 D), on his Snellen, with hid personal measurement effort.
This could be successful, for a wise engineer.
    You ask "why care".
I personally do care about life time prevention.

    Hi Dr. Craig,
    Thanks for your great review.
All fundamental eyes are dynamic control systems.
They control their refractive STATE, to their AVERAGE of Accommodation.
Negative STATE, is always created by the "nose on page", habits of a child.
For that reason, it can be prevented, when the child cam still pass the DMV level of vision, at home.
Prevention requires the wearing of a plus lens for all close work.
This requires great understanding, in the person, to be used effectively.
    This is Engineering, not medicine.
    I had 20/50, or -0.75 Diopters.
With long term plus for near, I achieved a refractive change, to +0.25 Diopters.
    I am now confirming 20/20.

This is intriguing, could you eloborate why plus lens for close work helps? Is this related to lag of accommadation at all?

Atropine is the most common. See treatment videos for details.

@@cbeyedr hi dr craigh. it is very interesting that you mention to stop "eyes growth" you need blur background and clear in the centre. If that's the case why not start miyosmart vision before a child become myopia ?
