    Hi, do you have any suggestions on how to teach a child to stop lying by using play therapy?

      Hi cbwsmiles. Thanks for your comment. Play therapy can be really helpful for children who experience a wide range of social , emotional or behavioural difficulties. Generally speaking, therapists don't try to 'teach' children anything in play therapy. Instead we allow the process (of listening and reflecting things back) to help children learn about themselves and perhaps experiment with new or different ways of being. Through play therapy, for example, the unconscious reasons why a child is lying might be explored and then resolved, resulting in a change in behaviour.
      If you're wanting more direct ways of addressing issues such as lying, you could try reading some picture books together which are focused on that theme. There are loads of great social learning resources out there these days. Good luck!
