That's the problem with AI in this game, most likely the Typhoon was assigned a light bomber AI since it's an attack mission. The fighter AI of the spits did quite well.

Trofim sadly died in his last mission so his story ended. I know what you are saying but the FW190 A-8 variant hit production is Feb 1944.

Luftwaffe didn't count 'probable' kills. They are either independently confirmed, i.e. someone else has to see it crash, or it's not awarded at all.
This is late 1944, at this point in the war these Luftwaffe boys are really getting hardly any training at all.
Late 44 campaign start? I dare say that you will be outnumbered 2, 3, sometimes 4 to 1.
