  • David Mansfield shares about the pastor’s heart of the leading Australian evangelist of the 20th century, John Chapman ‘Chappo.’
David Mansfield was John Chapman's successor as director of the Sydney Anglican Department of Evangelism.
I (Dominic Steele) worked with John and David for four years from 1997-2002, as an itinerant evangelist with the Sydney Anglican Church's Department of Evangelism.
David's story ranges from his first encounter with Chappo, when David was doing his Higher School Certificate, through to sitting with him in the final hours of John's life.
We talk about the way God used Chappo in Armidale Diocese and in Sydney, his work as a trainer, lecturer and encourager.

I knew a number of fine, godly clergy and lay people that were discarded and left wounded on the roadside as Chappo reeked havoc in the Diocese of Armidale. Some went to their graves still broken by this man, but thankfully the Lord they served on earth has now received them in heaven.

Chappo did tremedous damange to the Armidale Diocese. He left there just left there before his sh*t hit the fan. He drove the Catholics out & replaced them with Calvinist/Brethren error spewing heretics.
He discarded the centrality of the Eucharist weekly in Christian worship with the Pestilence of Preaching.
    And so on ad nauseum.
