*Here are about 30 differences between COPTIC & EOTC* As an Ethiopian Orthodox servant and having attended several Coptic liturgies, and from theological research on both churches, I can tell you we the EOTC have SO MANY differences. *Dogma Differences* 1. We believe that Saint Mary was born stainless immaculate conception - (Coptics believe she was born with sin) 2. We believe that Saint Mary has no sin or nature to sin after birth as well *Jewish Practices* 1. We have Ark Processions year-round 2. We abstain from all unclean food (pork, shrimp, crab, etc) 3. We do no enter church if we are unclean (men and women) 4. We wear all white shawls (Netelas) as a symbol of Christ’s Resurrection and spiritual purity 5. We have a shoeless entry (not just during communion) 6. We abstain from any modern instruments (piano, guitar, etc) 7. We have 81 books in the Bible (Coptics have 74) 8. We go of Halachic Jewish Time (Fasting entry and exits are based of our sun and star movements (Twilight) and our hours are reversed (12=6, 9=3) 9. We observe Friday evening, Saturday as the Sabbath (in addition to Sunday) *EOTC Belief System* 1. We abstain from any fish on fasting days (It is a meat - 1 Cor 15:39) 2. We eat starting at 3pm on fasting days 3. We fast 296 days of the year (including Tsige & Pagume Fast) 4. Women are not allowed to wear pants only ankle length dresses 5. We never imprint (wear) icons of saints on clergical or any other clothes 6. We have a 2-priest liturgy system unlike Coptics 7. We close curtains during significant moments 8. To be a Deacon you must be a unmarried virgin 9. We have 14 liturgies (Coptics have 3) 10. We celebrate all 33 feasts for Saint Mary and all 18 feasts of Jesus with millions in attendance year round 11. We have Hymnaries (Mahlet) 4-10 hours short version and 24-48 hours long on Epiphany and Horologions (Sa’tat) 12. We perform year- round Subae’s (7 days of no food or water) 13. Believers have continual baptisms year round for healing and forgiveness of sin 14. We do no eat bread or bring any food inside church (unlike Coptics) 15. Only men can pour Holy Water 16. The Holy Trinity Icon is always depicted (Coptics use mostly Jesus and the 4 creatures of the Gospel) *Explanation:* While we didn’t establish a church prior to Coptics, Ethiopia was and is historically known as the First Christian Kingdom and Civilization (Reference: Prophecy Psalms 72: 9-10 along with multiple Church sources shows that one of the three wise man has been confirmed Ethiopian, Acts 8 shows Christianity teaching existed in Ethiopia and Aksum Kingdom predates back to BC showing traces of Christianity prior to Armenian Church). And so while we the EOTC are labeled “oriental” with our sister churches, we are the only orthodox nation who incorporate 4000 year old Jewish customs (Judeo-Christianity) and Jewish forms of worship and tradition into our faith making us really a third type of Orthodox. The reason for this is because we were the only Orthodox country to convert from Jewish to Christian so we hold very sacred information or the “original link” that drives our Christian faith to be more conservative or allows us to have more divine levels of worship (Ark Processions year round, Hymnaries (Mahlet), (Horologions (Sa’tat), Subae (7 days of no food or water), constant baptism, all white clothing, shoeless entry, restraining from pork and any other unclean meat and 296 days of fasting to name a few all makes our orthodoxy unique different and special in every way compared to all other oriental and eastern orthodoxies but most importantly and evidently seen is our love of Saint Mary. A faction of the Syriac Orthodox Church got separated from their mother church and they named themselves as Indian Orthodox Church. But, the mother church is still there. They are in communion with Syriac Orthodox Church.
Hi nice video.very informative. But you are mistaken about the information on Indian orthodox church. That church was actually part of the universal Syriac orthodox church however in 1912 split away to create an independent church in India by the direction of Bishop Vattaseril and prominent business tycoons. A group of people went with this so called independent church forsaking the Antiochian Patriarch, however more people stayed put in their faith and showed loyalty to the Throne of Antioch. The split in India was created for money, business and political means. Please do some research on the so called Indian Orthodox church. The true orthodox church in India is Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church.
I hope that is fine actually ... splitting .. we cant actually help it .. bt there is something i dont unserstand how come these people have 2m followers .. when as per the surveys the malankara jacobites and malankara orthodox are ALMOST 50:50 .. I think u guys forgot to include the malankara Jacobite chruch members as a part of the Universal Syriac orthodox church Any way quiet informative and good effort .. would love to see more about our Oriental churches
The split was not made for money, it was over 2 priests who secretly became bishops from Antioch and they started doing service and even ordained uneducated men to priests. The Joc is corrupt.
They are celebrated through a series of prayers and mahelets. In Accordance with the canons of the Church, there are nine Major Feast Days of Our Lord. Tsinset (Annunciation Feast of Incarnation) Lidet (Nativity) Timket (Epiphany) Debre Tabor (Transfiguration) Hosanna (Palm Sunday) Siqlete (Crucifixion) Tensae (Easter) Ereget (Ascension) Paracletos (White Sunday). Apart from the nine Major Feast Days, there are other nine Minor Feast Days. Sibket (the First Sunday before Nativity) Birhan (the second Sunday before Nativity) Nolawi (the Third Sunday before Nativity) Genna (Nativity Eve) Gizret (Circumcision) Lidete Simeon (Presentation of the Lord) Kana Ze Gelila (Feast of Cana of Galilee) Debere Zeit (Fifth Sunday of Great Lent - Mt. Olives) Mesekel (Finding of the True Cross) Source: www.eotchurch.ca/sites/default/files/Order of Church Fasts & Feasts.pdf

How do ethiopian church has books more than coptic and orthodox churches.the bible really has 73 in our church.
The vaticans were the ones that removed those other books from the bible. They didnt have much influence in Ethiopia so there was no reason for the people to remove them

*Here are about 30 differences between COPTIC & EOTC*
As an Ethiopian Orthodox servant and having attended several Coptic liturgies, and from theological research on both churches, I can tell you we the EOTC have SO MANY differences.
*Dogma Differences*
1. We believe that Saint Mary was born stainless immaculate conception - (Coptics believe she was born with it)
2. We believe that Saint Mary held NO fallen nature of sin after birth as well
*Jewish Practices*
1. We have Ark Processions year-round
2. We abstain from all unclean food (pork, shrimp, crab, etc)
3. We do no enter church if we are unclean (men and women)
4. We wear all white as a symbol of Christ’s Resurrection and spiritual purity
5. We have a shoeless entry (not just during communion)
6. We abstain from any modern instruments (piano, guitar, etc)
7. We have 81 books in the Bible (Coptics have 74)
8. We go of Halachic Jewish Time (Fasting entry and exits are based of our sun and star movements (twilight) and our hours are reversed (12=6, 9-3)
9. We observe Friday evening, Saturday as the Sabbath (in addition to Sunday)
*EOTC Belief System*
1. We abstain from any fish on fasting days (It is a meat - 1 Cor 15:39)
2. We eat starting at 3pm on fasting days
3. We fast 296 days of the year (including Tsige & Pagume Fast)
4. Women are not allowed to wear pants only ankle length dresses
5. We never imprint (wear) icons of saints on clergical or any other clothes
6. We have a 2-priest liturgy system unlike Coptics
7. We close curtains during significant moments
8. To be a Deacon you must be a unmarried virgin
9. We have 14 liturgies (Coptics have 3)
10. We celebrate all 33 feasts for Saint Mary and all 18 feasts of Jesus with millions in attendance year round
11. We have Hymnaries (Mahlet) 4-10 hours short version and 24-48 hours long on Epiphany and And Horologions (Sa’tat)
12. We perform year- round Subae’s (7 days of no food or water)
13. Believers have continual baptisms year round for healing and forgiveness of sin
14. We do no eat bread or bring any food inside church (unlike Coptics)
15. Only men can pour Holy Water
16. The Holy Trinity Icon is always depicted (Coptics use mostly Jesus and the 4 creatures of the Gospel)
*Explanation:*
While we didn’t establish a church prior to Coptics, Ethiopia was and is historically known as the First Christian Kingdom and Civilization (Reference: Prophecy Psalms 72: 9-10 along with multiple Church sources shows that one of the three wise man has been confirmed Ethiopian, Acts 8 shows Christianity teaching existed in Ethiopia and Aksum Kingdom predates back to BC showing traces of Christianity prior to Armenian Church). Ethiopia is in fact called the Land of Mary.
Thank you have a nice day.
Blessings in Christ

I'm a bit confused; Is Christ not if ONE nature of both Man and God, and not two natures?
Those two separate nature has become one
One nature.
@@NatnaelMulatu thank you wendema beautifully explained Egzhiabehr Yebarkeh ♥️☦️🙏🏾
All oriental ortodox churches should get back to Eastern Ortodoxy we should be together to fight same enemies.
Unity is good but who exactly is the enemy?
@@enlightenedcommie9447 Pope and catholic church.
Delusional schismatics, believing Catholicism is their enemy. You are just another tool of the devil to destroy Catholicism, but Catholic Church is founded by Christ Himself and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Catholicism will triumph, and you schismatics will perish because of your pride and stupidness.
stranger Muslims and secular Globalists.
At on this list one is fake one .
The Real Enemy against the Orthodoxy and against the Christianity
patriark Antonios is not the 2nd patriark it is the third patriark of Eritrea.
Afewerki G.Michael maybe you forget About Jacobite church in india
Aba Anthonios is the 3rd patriarch
Our Eritrean Patriarch Antonios is not the 2nd patriarch.
H.H.Abune Antonios (born 12 July 1929) is the third Patriarch of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church. He was illegally and forcefully deposed by the Eritrean government in 2007. He has been under house arrest ever since.
You know you could show Eritrea a little respect by spelling our name correctly. Its ERITREA not ERETRIA like you have on the list 🙏🏾

Maybe he is including jacobites and indian orthodox together?
Great video wondering Why our brothers and sisters from Serbian and russian ortodox churches are not in the list?
They are on Eastern Orthotodox side. We are Oriental family. We are divided bc of defination of Our Lord Jesus Christ's nature. We are Myiaphsites (Not Monophysites) . The serbian, Greek, Russuan are diaphsyties. However, it is now understood that the difference came because if languge misunderstanding. Both express same thing in different form. It is sad it created such division. We Ethiopian Orthodox followers dearly Love Serbian and Russian Orthodoxes. We love your former and niw Patriarchas as well. Dont let the enemy put hate and division in your heart. Dont listen divisive rumors on internate as well. The enemy loves to confuse and divide. We are Ine in Our Lord Jesus Christ and Ever Vurgin Mary's Love❤❤❤🤗
Antiochian and Indian churches are not in communion
I think u guys forgot to include the malankara Jacobite chruch members as a part of the Universal Syriac orthodox church
Any way quiet informative and good effort .. would love to see more about our Oriental churches
The split was not made for money, it was over 2 priests who secretly became bishops from Antioch and they started doing service and even ordained uneducated men to priests. The Joc is corrupt.
The Joc chruch recently consecrated 30 bishop in 2002 illegally.
Churches is my last name haha
The Syriac Orthodox Church does not consider John of Damascus a saint
