Good documentary, Jamie!! The Great Lakes ships, have some interesting, tales also🤔. The pronunciation for 'Bannockburn' is; Ban•nôck•burn. It's a city in Illinois, I believe.
A ship, if you could cover next; could it be the famous concrete ship in Cape May Point NJ, named The SS 'Atlantus'??? It's not an exciting shipwreck, but it's part of our, local history.
You always do great research, friend! Awesome job!
Thank you so much miss 😁 👍🏽

Thank you for not neglecting the lake ships, since there are some amazing stories from them. Happy New Year my friend!
The locks mentioned trip a lot of people up because of the odd spelling and the mix of French and English influence in the pronunciation.
Whether it’s written out fully as Sault or the shortened and Anglicized Soo, it is pronounced the same as SUE, and rhymes with YOU.
Around the 20 second mark of this song you can hear it said by Stan Rogers, a Great Lakes sailor himself, in the line “as we roll north to the Sault”.

I can imagine this story being told by an old man in a pirate grog saloon
or, more likely, a fish house in Michigan or New England
Indeed thank you so much for watching 😁 👍🏽
Is there any chance you could secure Skybedz’s old videos before his channel is deleted on the 29th?
