One of the most hurtful things as a Ranger fan is seeing this man never win a cup. Alex Oveichkin and Henrik Lundqvist were the two hockey players you knew deserved the cup the most. Alex Oveichkin got his cup but not Hank. Henrik is on my mount rushmore for NHL goalies.
I love Jimmy for having the presence of mind to invite Henrik to the show. He so deserved the recognition. What an amazing player and human he is. He’s the total package and I adore him. And he “ain’t” bad to look at either! I love watching him participate as a panel member of TNT’s NHL show.
@@PhillyLeotardo25 honestly, I love Henrik but letting him go was the right move. Georgiev was looking great at that time, and Shesterkin showed flashes. Now Shesty is having a Vezina caliber season. I've seen Henrik play since he was in the juniors. When he then started playing in the first team and was lost to us in Sweden I knew that he would get to experience something like the jersey in the roof when he retired. Amazing player! One of the best goalies ever and a very humble and classy guy...
A true Athlete with discipline, humbleness & class,...A Inspiration to be proud of & follow as remodel both as sportsman but also in fashion because he's always so fashionable....The Myth, Legend & King of New York...
I was at the game when he took the crown for most wins by a European goalie, and that, as well as countless other iconic Hank moments will always be special to me as an NYR fan. Much love!👑🐐
What an amazing career this fellow swede has had, absolutely remarkable! There have been (and there still are) many successful Swedish outfield players in the NHL, but only a few goalies. Our Henke has now become a proud member of a group of Swedish goalkeepers who have made it over there 👏
i wish he could’ve won a cup with the rangers, but i’m glad to hear he’s happy and healthy. tomorrow’s gonna be emotional, but i’m excited for him and for what’s to come ❤️💙
I had open hear surgery a few month ago for the exact same issue as Henrik, leaky valve and my aorta got too big. I'm glad he has the surgery before anything happened to him. sadly I didn't know and went into cardiac arrest at the gym.
I remember The games between Rangers and Devils... Lundqvist and Brodeur. Possibly two of the best goalies ever, playing against each other on the highest possible level. Makes me so proud to be Swedish!
Hes the reason I'm a rangers fan. Hell he's the reason I got into hockey at all! Absolutely incredible player, glad I saw him in person before covid. King Henrik!
I feel the same way about Marc-Andre Fleury. He’s the sole reason why I became a hockey fan. My husband tried for over 15 yrs to get me to watch hockey. I wasn’t interested. And then we went to Vegas, and we’re fortunate enough to be invited by a casino CEO to be guests of his suite at T Mobile Arena for a VGK game against Winnipeg. Once I saw Flower play-and experienced the excitement of an NHL game that only the city of Vegas could bring with their amazing production capabilities-I was hooked for life! I adore Henrik in every way. I love seeing him on TNT’s NHL show.
We don't send many Swedes out in to the world to make an impression the way this guys has. We had an astronaut a few years back, we have a football player (soccer, sry) thats famous but yea, not that many. He's one of the few that makes us really proud.
In a game 7 in the playoffs, you call this guys number! Always showed up! Unfortunately there was no center depth and defense let this guy down time and time again.
@@myohmy7717 yeah... i would also say if the Refs called the interference call that the NHL said whoops sorry yeah that was a penalty. That would have completely changed momentum. 1-1 going into the garden instead of down 2 games.

I've never really thought of Henke as a legend, but I went to quanthockey to see how he ranks stats-wise and damn! 6th all time in wins, and among the top20 goalies in wins he's 3rd in Save% (after Hasek & Luongo) and tied for 4th in GAA (After Hasek, Brodeur and Jaques Plante). Even without a cup (which IMO is overrated when it comes to judging individual skill) he's going to the HHoF.
This guy is a legend for sure. Being a flyers fan and seeing him absolutely dominate them for the last 10 years. He’s def a HOF and one of the best to ever do it.
You really, really shouldn’t be. It’s an extremely similar language (maybe not obvious at a glance but nevertheless true), including the pronunciation, and we prioritize learning it from an early age since we’re a small country. If English speakers spent as much time and energy learning, say, German as we do learning English, and 90% of their entertainment was in German, nothing was dubbed, and most of the textbooks in college programs were in German, they would all be fluent in German by age 13. And if they then lived in Germany for more than a decade they probably wouldn’t have much of an accent. That would just be normal at that point. There are people with totally unrelated first languages who have pulled off sounding near native in much shorter time and with far less of a head start than what literally every single Swede gets with English. And what I say about Swedes is also true for Dutch people, Norwegians, Danes, Icelanders, Faroese and to a lesser extent Germans, so it’s nothing unique.
