shout out to people with abusive or unsupportive mothers, who have to deal with the world acting like every single mother’s love is so expansive, unconditional and tender, when that is the opposite of what we experienced

I just want to say that I am very sorry for people who have lost their mothers, I hope you will overcome the sadness and live to make them proud. I can't imagine losing my mom, you all are so strong and I salute you for that. May you all find happiness and peace. God I should stop crying :p

Thank you. I don't even know why I clicked on this. I knew it would make me bawl. I'm a mom to little kids she will never see grow up, or share in their laughter. No matter how painful it is, I still love thinking about how much I love my mom. She was my best friend, my world, my everything. It's been 3 years this past Mother's Day. Yes, my mom died Mother's Day week in 2012. Thank you for acknowledging that. It's been really hard while I get all of the happy best wishes. Some of us are grieving on this day, and I'm think that I will always grieve, because of how close it was to her passing.

It is totally understandable that you think that you will always grieve. I hope that in your sadness you will find the strenght to make your mom proud and raise your little kids to be as amazing and strong as you are right now. I don't know your mother but I bet that she would want you to be happy and think about all the positive things in your life, and I also think that she wouldn't want you to be sad on mother's day, she would want it to be a day full of love and appreciation of the blessings that you have.

I feel like such a baby but this video made me tear up. I love my mother so much, she's a single mother, had no help from my dad. Did everything herself. How can people be so cruel? I feel so bad that she didn't get any help, she makes me want to work so hard so I can pay her back so she never has to worry about financial things.

I'm sure you have a bright future ahead of you, I wouldn't have a life without my mom so I can't imagine any seconds without her- she defined my existence for a very long time. Loss can define someone's existence as well, I bet you're so strong that you can go through anything. I'm sure you'll be a great mom yourself in the future

These videos always get to me. My mom abandoned me. My two brothers and I were tooken away from our parents when I was only a year old due to suspicious activity because my baby brother died and they didn't know the reasoning behind his death. I love my mother. She birthed me and my other siblings and it's so hard because my older brother is treated so great by her and he visits her (she lives in another state) while my other siblings and I are out of the proportion most times. It's unfair. But I'll always have her love in my heart. I'm just glad my aunt (my dads sister) whom I call "mom" takes amazing care for me. And it sucks to know still that my real mom gave up on me. They gave her and my dad plenty of ways to try and get us back, but neither tried. My dad is still in my life, it is just hard.

so i am going to lay it all out: Mother is a beautiful term where you give life to the world. First as a kid your mother has to provide everything for you to survive but, beyond that they owe you nothing. The fact that so many women show this deep caring for their mother's or being one them selves only brings slight tears of joy to my heart. Know that all kids have a conflict around the mid to late teens is normal but, know that no matter what they are still your mother. This video was perfect and i loved it so much. To round this out, "mother" to me is a caring, wonderful, strong willed person who goes out of their way unconditionally. I understand not everyone has the best mother or father in the world and quite the opposite but, lets hope they find someone or something they can put their love into.

This video made me wanna cry a little bit. It wasn't sad it's just when I think of my mom, she pisses me off a lot, whether it little things or big things. But when I think about if she wasn't around, I just can't. I'm terrified of the day when I won't have her anymore. One word to describe my mom, of the many I have, is strength. She herself is so strong and she gives me strength in the process.

I knew she wasn't going to come. but when the whole class had to take pictures I saw my mom walk through the doors. she came up to me and said "even with surgery I will NEVER miss anything for you." and I was crying. so overall, my mom is my everything. she even came to my high school graduation the day her mom died. I don't know how she does it, I really don't. I can never be as strong as she is.

I can’t describe in any language how amazing and beautiful and wonderful she is. I love her so much. I can’t explain it. This feeling is almost ethereal, other worldly. It’s amazing and wonderful. Losing my mom just 16 days before Thanksgiving, and 19 days before my 21st birthday was the hardest thing in my life. It still is hard. I look at those little girls and I want to tell them to hug their mom so tight and do not let go. +Sweggin Beggin I feel bad for the good Fathers, but it's not womens fault that nobody cares for Fathers Day. If more men would actively engage in raising children, (like in sweden) nobody would neglect Father's Day. And by raising i don't just mean the fun stuff. I had an amazing dad and nobody in our family neglects Fathers Day. I'm a Daddy's girl but i will still have to admit that my mum is my everything, my mum was my first love, nothing can compare to that.

  • @asdSash
    @asdSash 9 ปีที่แล้ว

I think that "mom" could be used to describe more than our mothers. To me, a mom is that person who is always there for you and supports you no matter what. It is someone who loves unconditionally and would do anything that you need. A mom is someone to look up to. She has superpowers, she's special and unique. But it isn't necessarily your mother. Sometimes, "mom" can be a he, who is both your father and mother. Or it can be someone else that is like a mother to you.
I love my mom. And i hope you all have someone who does as much as my mom does for me.

When I hear mother there are three words that come to mind. Pain. Miracle. Goal. Pain is for all the abuse I dealt with. Miracle because she gave birth to the most amazing sister I could ever even dream. Goal is for when the time comes for me to have kids, that I never want to be like my mother; I want to be the kind that gets the words these women in the video declared.

Rio Bell Well at least you have a sister some people don’t have anybody you can still have the right to feel the pain you feel but just know that you have someone and like you said an amazing sister she can be a best friend for life

My one word would be.... Respect. :)
The amount of things my mother has done for me and now that I'm 21, I've realised how much I truly do respect her and I always do try to because one of my fears is disrespecting my mother.

If I was in this video, I would have said "superhero". She was a single mother of two for 21 years and she made look like if she wasn't struggling. Amazing. I love her. (/is a 22 black girl)

    Fear.
My mother wasn’t a very good person growing up, she was very scary, and I’m afraid to let her get close for fear of getting hurt again. She is the person who was my first bully, and gave me a social anxiety it’s taken years to overcome with therapy. Everyone talks about how much they love their mothers, but I just can’t care about her in that way when she didn’t care about me in that way as a child when I needed it most.
2022 EDIT: To add to this, everyone keeps telling me that I only have one mother and that I should forgive her, but personally I think she should hold herself accountable and that no apology she gives me will ever be good enough. She never had my back the way I needed it growing up. I needed that.
