Im halfway through fixing my gear shift after a body shope qouted me over 300$! I got the knob off and replaced the cover already, (13.00$ from Amazon) now just going to re-install a new knob. THANK YOU!

I got a 2013 forte… It was very difficult to pull the knob off at first, but I Strad the console with one leg on the passenger side one leg on the driver side so that I could get really good leverage and I pulled up and Walla it came out finally😢

iam not sure but I have encounter some are easier and some takes effort.
