Apperently circle of protection has a hidden feature that makes it nearly broken. The circle is a source of magicka that's seen as offensive magicka, even if it affects only certain level capped undead. Now with that being an offensive spell that typically doesn't harm you the player, it can act as an amzing magicka battery if you have some levels of magicka absorbtion. Like with the atronach perk for example. That circle with the right build acts as a limitless supply of magicka.
@TypicalPirate55 it's not a bug more an unintended interaction. Evening involved is working exactly as intended. A bug would mean there was some error in a process' execution
Healing Spells are very good for tanky One-Handed/HeavyArmor combos because with certain perks they will also heal your stamina which you need for heavy attacks. With the right entchantments you can basically achieve unlimited heavy attacks especially with the health/stamina healing combo

Alright first off great video i always enjoy your content Now let me add some things to what youve already mentioned...someone did mention the absorb glitch i wont say that gain but heres another tip...unlike illusion, dual casting doesnt affect the level caps for restoration spells but there is a single exception which is circle of potection allowing it to affect even high level undead...another things that does affect it is the necromage perk which you can use to affect higher level undead. Second tip, bane of undead is one of the two master spells that can be dual casted (ikr) the animation doesnt change but you use up 2.8 times the magicka for a 2.2 times strength(still wont affect higher levels see my first tip) Third tip: for cloak spells including the destruction ones the magnitude doesnt affect the damage but the range (wont change the visuals) dual casting and potions and other fortify restoration affects (not enchants except a few exceptions) increase magnitude and therefore increase the range so makes them viable for mages. Finally my last tip: there is one instance when lesser ward is better than higher level ones and thats versus dragons, you see dragons breath deals damage in lots of very low damaged ticks. The stronger the dragon the faster the ticks but ticks are still minimal damage each...how wards work is that when they take a hit they lose some hp which starts to regenerate fast since the ticks of dragon breath deal very little damage each the shield heals back up completely before the next tick and you can stand the strongest dragon's breath by only using lesser ward :)))
True, but that gets countered easily when you get Dragonrend, forcing dragons to land and bashing when they are about to use a breath attack on the player.

Healing undead is good for another reason: one of the most broken spells in the game, Dead Thrall. Means you can heal your undead, although you can just raise them back again if they die
Something that I feel is very overlooked for two handed weapon (or non-mage centric) gameplay is the power in the restoration skill branch that also restores stamina when casting healing. Makes killing dragons a breeze and damn near eliminates the need for stamina potions outside of desperate situations when you cant find a pause in a fight. Plus when you get the upgrade for faster healing time when double casting makes a seriously broken combo where you can just constantly power attack with 100 dmg+ weapons
Don't forget the active effects sailor's repose (healing spell heals 10% more), with the perk Apprentice restoration and Regeneration, the fast healing at the beginning heal 50hp for 73 magicka, after the active effects and the 2 perks, that spell heals 82,5 hp, for 36,5magicka, that is pretty good, if you dual cast it, for 1 dual-cast you heal 165hp, for 73 magicka.
I definitely forgot about that! I still think that you are better off just raising a new dead body instead of healing them. Not sure about the math on that one though

I believe Repel Lesser Undead is in the top five in the restoration tree. However, it's not for its intended use. Restoration is notoriously hard to level and takes ages to get anywhere meaningful. RLU gives an insane amount of experience and hits many targets as well as not costing an insane amount of Magicka. Once you can cast the spell once go find some draugr and cast it on all of them. Supposedly you can heal your own reanimated undead, so Necromantic Healing and Heal Undead aren't that bad. I think you can even heal summoned ones like the Boneman Wrath from the Soul Cairn (Or whatever is his name).
Mostly good for serana, also good with mods, any mod that lets u get other vampire/undead followers, invest in a particular summon or of ur using "ordinator" the false light skill which turns healing into damage works well enough given that they are immune to basic healing

What really irritates me is that sun damage is borderline useless since it only affects draugrs, vampires, and zombies and it doesn't affect dead thralls even though it should or the fact it doesn't harm literal vampires just because they're names are different (like the "traveling bard" and advisors in the dawn guard side quests) and the worst part of it all is you can't disenchant the sun damage enchant which really REALLY pisses me off
Heal undead is great for healing your bone summons. With Master of the mind perk, Twin Souls, the bone Colossus, and the conjugation endurance and +1 summon enchantment, you can summon 5 bone bodies, rally them, and heal them. Important to note that I cast all magic for free and my conjugations last a minimum of 520 seconds (max enchantment, resto loop)
Bane of the undead benefits from necromage and augmented flames doing 300+ damage to draug, turn undead up to 56 level. (UESP wikia) At higher levels still appear undead of lower levels so turn undead spells aren't completely useless. Circle of protection befetits for dual casting (not only duration) making (with necromage perk) turn undead up to level 55 For some reason Guradian Circle one of the two master spells (the other one is Dragon hide) can be dual cast making undead flee for up to 2 minutes. What really irritates me is that sun damage is borderline useless since it only affects draugrs, vampires, and zombies and it doesn't affect dead thralls even though it should or the fact it doesn't harm literal vampires just because they're names are different (like the "traveling bard" and advisors in the dawn guard side quests) and the worst part of it all is you can't disenchant the sun damage enchant which really REALLY pisses me off
Wait…don’t necromatic healing spells help with those who are brought back to life to fight for you?
That switch from ward spells to flesh spells + mage armor confused me a bit to be honest.
People can hate on restoration, but those scrolls of guardian circle can come in handy when you get swarmed by draugr
Heal undead is great for healing your bone summons. With Master of the mind perk, Twin Souls, the bone Colossus, and the conjugation endurance and +1 summon enchantment, you can summon 5 bone bodies, rally them, and heal them. Important to note that I cast all magic for free and my conjugations last a minimum of 520 seconds (max enchantment, resto loop)
i literally made a spell that that is a combination of greater ward and a buffed up heal.
Bane of the undead benefits from necromage and augmented flames doing 300+ damage to draug, turn undead up to 56 level. (UESP wikia)
At higher levels still appear undead of lower levels so turn undead spells aren't completely useless.
Circle of protection befetits for dual casting (not only duration) making (with necromage perk) turn undead up to level 55
For some reason Guradian Circle one of the two master spells (the other one is Dragon hide) can be dual cast making undead flee for up to 2 minutes. (UESP Wikia and tested myself)
Hello! In the first clip, what gauntlets did you use? It looks really cool 😮.
Those are the mystic tuning gloves! They are in the base game too. I forget which quest actually gives you these, but I know it’s a quest given by a college of winterhold member.
@@TypicalPirate55 thank you so much! I’ll take a look at that. It looks awesome🙌
what's it with 2011 games having healing magic hurting undead
What other games made in 2011 did this?
Most skyrim spells are severely lacking. Ya really need to get mods to have a fun and engaging mage play through.
I was already going to put points into restoration for the heal/stamina regen but I wanted to figure out which spell would be be a t for that given my playstyle. I think I am now going to stick with fast heal or upgrade to close wound so thanks
I don't like restoration because the pure fact it makes the game crash a lot.
It does?
@@TypicalPirate55 yeah, usually when you cast multiple times on the same creature, for example turn undead; especially if the effect hasn't ran out yet.
I love your videos❤
Thanks!
Time stamps plz..
What are your thoughts on survival mode?
I think it’s a really great mode. It adds a lot to the game. I just wish it was a little more difficult.
Past tense of "cast" is "cast", not "casted"
Yep. Realized this mistake afteqr posting the whole series. Thanks for the correction
Anniversary Edition tier list?
Possibly
slayed
This list remind me how horrible the base game is. I play Skyrim on PC so i never play without mods because the base game gutted the magic since it was largely unfinished. And unfortunately, the level caps suck and the restoration and illusion schools dont work past low level enemies. Plus the amount of magicka needed to cast some restoration spells is atrocious for the most useful school for gameplay mechanics
Yeah. It’s really a shame. I really hope that ES6 fixes the magic system
Hit The Like Button 👍
Thanks!!
I am the fifth comment
Yeah...." Casted" is not a proper word that is used in the English language Bildo Saggens.... your fired.... Notice: TH-cam is NOT flooded with how awesome the Restoration School is.
Yep 😅😅😅 just realized that casted isn’t a word after posting the whole series. Oh well.
