As I saw on Facebook that Torino's beach bar was reopening on 1st June I thought I would walk along the El Cotillo beaches from the village and have a drink.
I started off by the Marfolin apartments and walked along the El Cotillo lagoons beaches. When I reached Playa de la Concha (also known as La Concha Beach or Shell beach) I continued on to Caleton Beach, known as such due to the Caleton Apartments. Here I show you the rock pool that always remains when the tide goes out on the left-hand side of the beach that is full of fish.
I then walk back to Torinos beach bar for a well-deserved coke and talk about the El Cotillo Music festival as I walk. Torinos bar is the only El Cotillo beach bar that has been there for well over 20 years.
I have bought the following should you be interested in starting a vlog:

Lovely to hear the children playing, a little bit of normality, Love the beach, thank you for sharing
Yes, nice to see some normality. Thanks for watching Nicky.
@@JPinFuerteventura I will look forward to the next video
Thank you
How sad . We just returned to our favourite winter destination. Drove over to Cotillo for the day from corralejo to find Torino’s had gone 🙁
Yes, all thanks to the moronic, currupt, local politicians. Removed for "environmental reasons" was the excuse.
myself and my partner have run a restaurant in west bay Dorset for 26 years, at the end of our season we always come to this beautiful island for our break .we love cotillo beach its the most calming wonderful place to chill and re charge .In just a few short months our business has been decimated we sit here waiting to re open with not alot of hope of earning a living this year .Thanks for the video JP, cheered me up a bit ,hoping we can visit again sometime soon !
It is not a very good situation Doug. I think many small businesses both here and the UK will not survive. I hope you get out here. Thanks for watching.
Amazing views another great walk
I love that place, so good to hear it's open again
Slowly getting there Tim
Thank you JP. Makes me feel "homesick." Can't wait to return.
Lots of LUV.
Soon perhaps Kay. Thanks for watching.
This is one of your best videos! Stunning beach, sea and sky, I love it.
Wow - thanks. I am glad you think that.
Agree. No breaking sound from wind. I guess you're using gimbal finally. Lovely weather. I spent there 3 weeks last year. Very nice place.
Oh my god We loved this place, we spent most of the 2 weeks of our holiday here Absolutely gorgeous to see it again and not ruined by développement Thank you made my day!
It has grown but, for the time being at least, it still has its charm. Thanks for watching Alan.
Lovely video. I spent my 13th birthday on that beach - that's now exactly 40 years ago. Memories ...
Wow - Cotillo must have been so different then. Thanks for watching Holger.
Thanks for the tour John. It made it so much more interesting for the next time we visit. That was a fair old walk.
I am glad you enjoyed it. The next video (Flag Beach) was an even longer walk. Thanks for watching.
Of course Michelle...,lm sure she would remember the happy day she gave us.x Thanks again John see you for a coffee or two next visit.
I look forward to it Sue
Thanks again for yet another great video John. What a lovely and peaceful place El Cotillo is......
It is, particularly without the tourists. Thanks for watching.

JP in Fuerteventura John I do hope so mate, the UK is a dismal place at the moment, I was made redundant last week, We are still under the government cosh, I honestly think they have destroyed the economy here, There are so many people losing their jobs it’s scary. That’s why your videos are so very special at the moment.
Cheers!
@@moonsacre100 There is more to all this than meets the eye
JP in Fuerteventura totally agree John, check this out: www.ukcolumn.org definitely not mainstream news but puts a tremendous amount of light on what the UK governments and for that the rest of the world are up to with the PLANDEMIC?
Thumbs up ere' John, great capture along the beach - lovely blue sky - many thanks for sharing - stay safe :)
It was a good colour Shuan. Thanks for watching mate.
i visit Corralejo every year but the more i see of El Cotillo the more i like it ,lovely place
That is exactly how we were. We spent a number of holidays in Corralejo but once we stayed in El Cotillo that was it. Thanks for watching.
Very peaceful, calming vlog JP...and my wife and I have had the pleasure of stopping for a drink in Torino’s after walking the beach.
It is a very well placed bar. Thanks for watching Kenny.
Another lively video. I really liked this place on our visit last year. Can't wait to be back.
All this walking is wearing me out! Especially as I had to take the dog's for a walk for an hour when I got home. Thanks for watching.
Thanks JP. Looks lovely there 👍 Hope you enjoyed your drink. Stay well.
The Coke was nice and cold. Thanks for watching David.
I never knew that Torino's started life in a VW camper van! .... Torino's is the 1st place we ever had Canarian Potatoes!! .... Great place!! Thanks for sharing JP :)
We all have to start somewhere Alistair 😁 Thanks for watching.
Love the place and missing it lots beautiful. Thanks for wonderful video ☀️🏖
We are keeping it warm for you. Thanks for watching Jenny.
Thank you JP, for another excellent film.
I enjoyed the walk, we usually head that way for our walks whilst there on holiday.
Hopefully soon we can book again and have a holiday to look forward too.
Hope you are all keeping well and enjoying the freedom after lockdown.
Looking forward to the next film, take care, regards, Chris.
We go onto phase 3 on Monday, whatever that is. Thanks for watching Chris.
Bloody frustrating.. can’t even get out of the country, but thank you for showing us what we’re all missing. Simon.
You are welcome Simon. Thanks for watching.
lovely place JP, i love the area, just a very good chill out place,
That's why I love it Paul. Thanks for watching.
Hi JP. Just started following your channel recently and I'm loving the videos. Very informative and enjoyable to watch. Hopefully things will soon be getting back to normal for you in Fuerteventura. All the best from Ireland.
Thanks for watching them Henry. Getting there slowly.
Love the sound of kids laughter.....almost as much as the sound of my beer can opening :)
lol thanks for watching Monty
Thanks JB for uploading this video....it brings back some great memories of Torinos beach bar and el Cotillo when I visited in 2006 :)
Hopefully will be bck there soon
I think you must be due a return visit then Steve. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video John, I've done this walk many a time. It's good to see El Cotillo coming back to some sort of normality, I hope to be back later in the year.
Hopefully by then it will be its usual relaxed place. Thanks for watching.
I really enjoy seeing your videos I've been watching them for quite some time as I adore Fueterventura ; me and my husband have been going fir some time now and fir the past 5 years shared this beautiful island with our children. In a time of strage with uk look down these videos do give me hope that a normal will return and I and my family once again can visit our second home. Looking forward to more videos. This one I particularly found relaxing. Saty safe
Thanks for watching them Kirsty. The same to you and yours.
Noticed flights and hotels cheap at moment , 3 years now since i last visited this lovely island, Stay safe nice vid.
Interesting. I haven't checked as I have no plans to go anywhere (no change there then). Same to you.
Seems like an absolutely beautiful day in fuerteventura JP I thought it looked like some ware in the Caribbean for a second 😂
It was a particularly lovely day. Thanks for watching.
Thanks again JP for the update. I am watching it on my iPad with a San Miguel wishing I was in Fuerteventura.
Me too but sangria lol
Well with your beer you are half here anyway Peter. Thanks for watching.
Hi JP, what a beautiful walk and beautiful beach. Thankyou.
Its gorgeous
It isn't bad is it Ozzy. Thanks for watching.
Totally agree with Kay’s comment. Just look at that blue sky and lagoon beaches....
Awful isn't it Michael 😉
Good to see everything getting back to normal, Northern Ireland slowly easing down a little, some shops opening again on Monday. A lot of the restaurants and cafes have re-opened but just doing takeaways.
Phase 3 on Monday, whatever that is. It's good that NI is improving. Thanks for watching.
Thank you JP, perfect beach, perfect video 😊
It's not a bad beach is it. Thanks for watching Lidia.
Oh JP that video is fantastic, that's put me in the mood again. Will be back in Feb/March 2021 and it can't come soon enough!your videos are great and l look forward to seeing them.We have many happy memories of Torinos!14 years ago it was our "Ruby" wedding anni!my husband asked me where would l like to be to celebrate it,l will take you anywhere in the world just say.......so l did!l want to be on our fave beach in El Cotillo drinking chilled champagne with a full english breakfast with our fave view......guess what?we did just that.We spoke to Torinos wife about it she said she'd never cooked a full english at the bar before, but yes of course l will do that for you,and she did bless her.She even put a vase of ruby red Rose's in it for us to keep as a souvenir of which l will always treasure!
"Our Happy Place".....its always felt special and now it really is.Hope you enjoy that little story.Stay safe and our love to you and Sue.xx Hope you remember us?we met up in Corelejo twice and stopped to say hi and thank you for your lovely blogs.Regards Sue xx
That was very accomodating of Michelle. What a nice story Sue. I am pretty sure we have been there on at least one of our anniversaries. 18 months ago we had friends staing with us and celebrated her 50th there. Of course I remember you! Thanks for watching.
Aw! Cute butterfly.
I guess that's what it was, not a fly
Very nice walk John lovely beaches and sky ! We are cold with thundery rain in central England as I type Saturday afternoon a balmy 12c ⛈
It was a lovely day. Mind you, so is today. I don't envy you. Thanks for watching Al.
Fantastic video, tinged with sadness, we can't go anywhere lol , keep them coming, it's nearly as good as being on holiday !
And you don't have to clear the sand from between your toes Chris. Thanks for watching.
Sometimes I used to stay in a camping tent further on la concha beach, Where camping, if quite, is almost allowed.. After sunset, under moon and stars I was used to have a shower using the one next to Torino bar.. I missed that time.. Late September was still perfect to have a shower under the stars
That must have been an experience. Not one for me though as I hate camping and roughing it. The last time I made the mistake of camping for a weekend I gave my tent away on freecycle the following day to make sure I never made the mistake of ever doing it again. Thanks for watching Michele.
Class video JP watching and wishing I was there from a dreary rainy Dublin....hopefully we will get there towards the end of the year, thanks for the great vids and take care Carl
I hope so too Carl. Thanks for watching.
Thankx JP for keep me updated btw beautiful blue sky
It was particularly blue that day. Thanks for watching Jurre.
love the beautiful blue sky, JP! don't forget it's Friday night! hint, hint. some hmmm, at 9:40 now i know why you go to the beach... that was interesting to see the inside of Torino's beach bar. so simple and really not much to it.
The clouds looked amazing too
Yes, simple but perfect for the beach. Thank you for watching Les.
@@JPinFuerteventura My pleasure, as always, and I love watching the full commercials, too. :-P
@@LesWaller Good man
Thanks so much for this tour -- will be spending a month in ElCotillo starting mid-July, love getting the lay of the land from you.
You may find it is still not too busy then Eva. It will be interesting tos ee how many actually come over. Thanks for watching.
@@JPinFuerteventura We were orginally scheduled for July 1-31, cancelled, but now rebooking for mid-July. Really enjoying your videos to try and figure out where we are staying vs. where things are. We are coming from the US --not sure if many Americans come, but we are respectful and looking to chill.
Thanks JP.Excellent video.
Cheers Ian. Thanks for watching.
Fair play - that's an absolutely lush beach!
Yep, not bad eh
Thank you so much for the video JP. Walked this route so many times from Cotillo Lagos Apartments. La concha is so lovely to swim in but Tricia prefers Caleton which has a more gentle slope into the water and usually quieter too. I occasionally take bread into the water there and swim amongst the fishes...bliss. don't think us Brits will be allowed to fly any time soon, our next trip was to depart from Belfast, so we'll have to keep playing this film on a loop to get our 2020 El Cotillo fix. Take care and thanks again
Caleton is definitely a more gentle slope, it is just a shame that the sea disappears completely at low tide.
really nice beach to hang out.
One of our favourites. Thanks for watching.
LOVE LOVE LOVE El Cotillo - so quiet at the moment - wait for July 1st though when the tourists come back
It will be interesting to see how many arrive Bev
omg here is when i learn about high spring tides =) thanks
Always happy to help Artem. Thanks for watching.
Nice beach, I remember there was always plenty & free car parking no matter how busy. It never got crowded, a very close drive from Lajares.
Yes lots of parking except when the car park is taken over by the stage for the music festival.
Beautiful video. Now considering this area as we normally stay in the south. Thank you for the confirmation of which area is more frequented by naturists as I was going to ask if it was accepted on that beach. Now I know it is it certainly looks like somewhere we'd love to go and relax clothes free 😊
It progressively gets more naturist from there all the way to the lighthouse. Lots of little beaches along there. Thanks for watching Wayne.
@@JPinFuerteventura Cheers. Is there a good supermarket there to get fresh fruit and veg for self catering?
Nice one John. You sure know how to rub salt into a wound. Should have landed in Fue today. Fingers crossed for October
Hopefully October will be ok Alan. Thanks for watching mate.
Where would you recommend for a first time visitor couple 60's around Christmas time, seems so many places on your vids look fantastic, great channel by the way must be appreciated by many, thanks for all your info😁
I assume you mean where on the island to stay rather than where in El Cotillo. But my answer would be El Cotillo anyway. Very popular with older people (like me). Everywhere is within walking distance, no noise or crowds of rowdy drunks, some nice bars and lovely restaurants. Check out my El Cotillo website for all possible information about it - elcotillo.net I hope that helps Alwyn.
Thanks for that mate most helpful 👍
I like the concept of the 'foxhole'. It's a new one to me.
Well that's what we call them. They are useful to shelter in on a windier day.
Great tour again ...love it ! cheers
Thanks for watching!
We were at the Azul last year for the day enjoying something to eat and drink what a lovely day we had,our daughter convinced us to stay in with them in caleta never again it's not for us take care.
Caleta is heaven for some but not for me either. Thanks for watching.
Fed those fish when stayed at caleton apartments , most relaxing hols i have had , i'm coming back asp .AND i was there that year torinos was flattened by a hurricane,!
AND can't remember what year but i was there when torinos was flattened by a hurricane,!
They are in a rather unique place. We looked at one when we were looking to buy our apartment but they just seemed too small for an extended stay of a few months like we did - fine for a week or two's holiday though. Thanks for watching Martin.
So professional
So lovely Vlog 🏖🌺🇮🇨
Thank you Babak. That is nice of you.
A wonderful walk of health I wish is your movies let you escape from this brutal reality
I am glad you like them. Thank you for watching.
The beach looks so good, nice vid JP, back on countdown, hope the quarantine lifts in the UK.
It was particularly nice as there was room on it. Thanks for watching Nick - love to Donna.
Good to be on your feet as a free man nice to see your vids.
Yes and on to phase 3 on Monday. Thanks for watching Svein.
Torino’s is a very basic structure, almost looking like a portacabin from the back. They certainly didn’t spend lots on architects or intricate design features. Yet if fits perfectly with the simple, laid back and relaxed vibe in El Cotillo. It’s one our our favourite places to chill out with a beer after a day at the lagoons.
Absolutely. No need for it to be flash - although compared to the way it was 10 years or so ago it is. Thanks for watching Andrew.
The beach at 5.10 is one of my favourite places in Cotillo. From your video it looks flatter than it is. We have had some great days there and along a bit. It is never the same each time we are there for the day. It can be covered in seaweed or rocks, then the next year its back to sand. Could I be a pain and ask you, when you get a chance to do another video when the tide is in ? I doubt if we will be back in Fuerteventura this year. Thanks for this video, and if I see you in Corralejo I will buy you two a beer.
I may include a high tide clip of the beach in a vlog the next time I go there Jeff. Juyst saying Hi is enough! Thanks for watching.
You are right jp about the naturist's, i unintentionaly walked through a beach in correljo and discovered some i didn't read the sign properly!!
A sign? I have never seen one anywhere. Nudity is apparantly legal in any natural place in Spain.
Hello JP. Thinking of El Cotillo vacation July /August from the states. What is the average temperature at that time. We don't want to rent a car except to explore so looks like everything is walking distance. What is the website for apartments? I missed it in your video. Looks amazing. Thank you!
Jim
Hi Jim, The website link is www.elcotillo.net/selected-el-cotillo-apartments-to-rent/ Unsurprisingly July and August are the warmest months. The average temperatures during the day are 26C/78F with an average max of 32C/89F and average nighttime low of 19C/66F. Bear in mind though that there is normally a breeze during the day to keep you feeling cooler. Everything in Cotillo is within walking distance and there is a good frequent bus service to Corralejo should you wish to go there. Lots more information on my Elcotillo.net website . Thanks for watching.
Great video JP, you deserved that coke 👍 We’ve had some great weather the last week or so, very hot!
Thanks Amelia. It was certainly a scorcher that day (although not in La Oliva). Typically, I got home and then had to walk the dogs. A shady walk would have been good, as it had been all day, but 2 minutes after we left out came the sun and cooked us again. Thanks for watching.
Aup mate , been watching your videos there great , My family booked a holiday for the 27 of this month but we had checked the hotel we are meant to be going to which is in future Ventura and on the website it says the hotel isn’t open till the 30th? Do u know the dates that people can actually start going over there? Would love to know , as we can’t get ahold of the holiday advises mate , cheers
The latest information is that Spain doesn't open its borders for tourists until 1st July.
I have just seen the Spanish Royal Decree published today, Tuesday 9th. June.
There is a lot about hygiene regulations but so far the main thing of interest to tourists is this.
Until such time that a vaccine or effective treatment is available it will remain compulsory for people aged 6 and upwards to wear to wear a mask in public spaces, open or closed and on public transport, where the safety distance of at least 1.5 metres cannot be guaranteed.
If you don't comply you will be fined or risk arrest if you argue as can be seen in lots of social media posts.
The exemptions for people with breathing difficulties suffering from conditions such as emphysema or asthma will no doubt be continued, but be aware you will have to carry documentary proof or risk the fine or arrest.
Utterly ridiculous, as usual
cool video
Thanks for watching
Nice vid jp , 🥰👌👍
Cheers Pedro and thanks for watching.
One of you better videos IMHO
I am pleased you think so. Thanks for watching.
I remember when this was all pristine except for the two crazy villas and a couple of low rises, not that long ago. Desecration I'd call it....
It is progress to others. Nothing stays the same.
It's a long time since I've seen the actual sea due to Covid and having to remain local.
I didn't see it for almost 2 months and as I only live about 3 miles away as the crow flies that was not nice.
JP in Fuerteventura Blimey!!
how are the locals doing JP? They must have lost 90% of their business instantly - is the local gov helping them anyhow? You think the island will bounce back once tourists are allowed in July?
I am not sure if local businesses are getting any help to be honest. It will be interesting to see how many arrive in July. Thanks for watching Jonatan.
Ohhhhh those Sardines with Papas com mojo,,,!!!!.
Yes, they are pretty tasty. Great Paella too. Thanks for watching.
Good
Thanks for watching
TOP 👍😍
Danke, dass du Bettina gesehen hast
presumably just locals on the beach - hopefully visitors back soon
Yes, only residents at the moment. Thanks for watching Billie.
Just got this jp 😎

There are plenty of Swedes here Anders so I guess so. Thanks for watching.
THERMAL IMAGING CAMERAS BEING INSTALLED AT ALL CANARIES AIRPORTS
2020/06/04 17:11:11 Written by Canarian Weekly National
The Ministry of Transport of the Canary Islands and Aena, are coordinating the installation of thermal imaging cameras in the arrivals areas of the islands' airports, that detect people with high body temperatures who could be possible carriers of Covid-19.
Even though the regional minister, Sebastián Franquis, said a month ago that these cameras would be a necessity after a telematic meeting with the regional director of Aena, Mario Otero, it has now been discussed at European level.
"Today," he continued, "the Aena regional network have confirmed that they already have the installation of this equipment in Canary Islands airports, and therefore we are satisfied because they have met the requirements set by the Ministry."
In addition to these body heat detection devices, Aena confirmed that island airports have adapted in recent weeks to incorporate all the health and hygiene safety measures recommended by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
This is referring to the obligation of wearing masks, the installation of markings on the floor to ensure the safety distance between passengers, the use of partitions, and having hydro-alcoholic gel dispensers available to users, among other measures.
COORDINATING THE INCREASE OF FLIGHTS:
Both the Government and the state agency have planned the organization of airports in anticipation of the increase in flights and passenger traffic, once the de-escalation process is consolidated in the archipelago, and mobility restrictions are lifted.
For this, they intend to coordinate the logistical and health protection resources necessary for Canarian airports to carry out their work, with full guarantees after overcoming the most critical phases of the crisis caused by the coronavirus.
I can't see that doing much good. What about those that came into someone with it at the departure airport? Their temperatures would still be normal.
God dam it, I will move to Canary Islands in the next 5 years, but need to open photo walks for tourists... Tenerife is defenetly where I should go business wise, with more landmarks and facilities diversity and more tours demand, but you keep showing me how those Fuerteventura beaches are so much superior, living wise... Stop it, Im suffering heeeeere, lol, cheers...
Yes, Tenerife is definitely a bigger market - is there much competition there? Good luck with the plans and thanks for watching.
I've no idea why you left the miserable, cold and wet UK. Who would want a view like that?
I know Simon. I keep asking myself why I left. Thanks for watching.
teleport please =)
If only Artem
