In today's video, we get to see an antelope in the field!!! How exciting! Dad is swatting flies with his cap again! LOL I am in the fire field again seeding winter wheat. I also get to eat my lunch in the tractor cab today because I am using auto-steer and that is a wonderful thing. A big thank you to the Vicarri family for the amazing lunch tote! I have my Kate's Ag tote bag with me and it really needs to be washed. Darcy is seeding the other part of the field today too. I struggle with getting the auger locked on the seed tank and I am dangling from it trying to pull the lever. No one thought I would be able to do it. I was able to and that was really exciting!!! Dad has some great drone footage of the fields, tractor, and drill I am operating. I hope you enjoy my video! Thank you for watching!!!

My Story…
Hello. My name is Kate Stephens, and I am a 17-year-old 4th generation Montana farmer. My family has been farming wheat in north-central Montana since my great grandfather immigrated from Denmark in 1912 and homesteaded our land. My family has been teaching me about farming since I was two years old. I run one of the combines on the farm at harvest. I believe that it is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and the families who produce it. I love our farm, and I hope that my Farm to Fashion and Farm to Table products can help educate people about where their food comes from in a fun way. That is how Kate's Ag - Farm to Fashion became a reality. I hope you love my products as much as I do because this is an extension of our farm and the grains we have been growing to feed other families for over one hundred years.

It made my day watching Kate's success. 10/10 for trying and then succeeding, if at first you don't succeed, try try again. Sometimes there are other things that you have to do to overcome things. Like an extension pole to add extra leverage.

The size of those fields is crazy ...in NW Ohio a 80 acre field is big . Our largest field was 160 acres , that was fun to work in .
I love Montana....been there twice and looking to go back and visit the National Parks again.

I also had a great father who had confidence in his children and taught us all at a very young age to be responsible and run equipment on the farm. Running a combine on my own at the age of 9, back in those days it was not uncommon at all. We all learned how to be responsible self-sufficient and adults at a very young age. It's good to see it still happening in a few corners of this country

The look at 00:30 you gave your dad when he grabbed the wheel because you weren't steering as much as he would like, is priceless! Hang in there, Kate. The more time you put behind the wheel the more experience you'll gain and the comfort and confidence will follow.
Ya, I felt bad for her. The look on her face looked like her soul got crushed. Her dad has to realize that it takes time. And she will be taking over the farm.
She can't learn overnight. In time she will get better. Because she is confident and a strong young woman. I did have a HUGE smile when she was jumping after she pulled the lever.
That was a HUGE achievement that she did. I felt so happy for her. 🥰

One thing that you said in the video is that the GPS gets a little off during the afternoon. I am a software engineer and I have worked on GPS systems before for both the military and civilian applications. One thing that affects the accuracy depends on how many GPS satellites are over the horizon in your area. The less satellites over the horizon, the less accurate the GPS is. This is because every satellite gives more accuracy to the triangulation of where the GPS receiver calculates your location. So it may be that there are less GPS satellites during the afternoon.

Kate, it’s a wonderful thing you’re doing . Learning the family business and sharing it with us all. Your dad reminds me of mine, very similar mannerisms, he was a good man, a fair man and kind in his own way. But he wasn’t a patient man and wanted things done his way with little tolerance for trying it my way. For that reason he and I couldn’t work together, after years of it I’d had enough and made my own way in life. When raising my children it was always in the back of my mind to not be as harsh to them. He has earned the right after year’s of working so hard to do it as they please , your knowledge and abilities already surpasses many and needs to be respected. Well done young lady. Just think who you will grow into in the years ahead. So impressed.
