This model was discontinued around 2021 for a cost reduced model. The fence bracket is proud of the table top. To lubricate, only use PTFE. Saw dust will not stick to it and it doesn't stick to wood, which would mess up any finish.
My kobalt table saw has locking pins that y truly dead on accurate and straight it also didn't come with the rear table extension for longer and larger pieces.i am truly happy with the saw
When I bought mine 5 years ago it was on sale for $179. and the Hitachi was on sale for $250. What I would do to go back in time and spend the extra. Mostly for the rack snd pinion fence. Shortly after I bought the (made by Delta) Kobalt, Rob Robillard did a comprehensive review of all the portable brands and the Hitachi won. I didn't spend enough to ever complain but if I want the same Hitachi today it's $450. I just remembered, why I didnt get the Hitachi. There were a lot of complaints at the time of the soft start system failing. I looked up the part and found you could buy it for about 8 dollars. All those people were waiting on warranty to deal with it and some said they junked it and moved on since they had no time to wait as contractors. Pretty cool to see a long term review of the saw.
If we can just go back in time. I recently picked up a Dewalt bench top table saw and I love it! The fence cannot be anymore smoother and accurate. Very happy with it.

Haha…I am the same! The rack and pinion are a game changer IMO. I use my Kobalt on-site for general cuts, and my Dewalt for more precision cuts in my shop.
Great video, I have the same saw, bought mine from Lowe’s of course, they were getting rid of the floor model to put out the new version and I bought mine for 150 bucks.. for the projects that I do, I am able to square the fence up with the blade and instead of moving the fence, I just slide it in and out with the extension rails and since I installed a new Diablo blade, I get really good results with it..
Yes, I found that to be very helpful except when you’re making smaller rips. It’s not a bad saw really for the money. I also got a dado stack I use on it. Thanks for watching 👊🏼
I have this model. Yep, the fence is a disaster, and Lowe's knew it. They have since redesigned the whole fence arrangement so that the fence has, I think, three possible locations, and you adjust by moving the right side.

Yep. I have a second table saw from dewalt and the fence is solid, makes work so much easier and faster.
