    I have that saw. I bought it about 6 years ago and I love the fence. It works flawlessly for me. Watching your video shows that Ridged made a lot of changes to the saw and all were for the worse. This is the best saw I have ever owned and I owned a Delta cabinet saw at one time, many years ago.

    I had the original Rigid contractor's saw. I bought it because it was the only contractor's saw that had more than 30" right of blade cut (it had 36"). That was 20 years ago. I've been looking for a replacement ever since as it's now aging.
    BTW, I'm a master cabinetmaker and I build very high end residential, aviation and yachting work.

      If I was a cabinmet maker and used my table saw regularly I would by the saw stop. Because it would be my business, I would have a tax deduction so the extra cost is okay. As it is I use the ridigd table saw infrequently and it does everything I ask of it.

    Thanks for the review on the table saw, I have the ridgid R4512 which is the last version of the one you have, and it’s been a great saw, I have done a lots of kitchen cabinets and I have had any problems, after 8-9 years of heavy use and still working as new.

    I bought the delta saw about 5 years ago, I looked at the ridgid saw and it looked really nice however after watching dozens of videos and reading all kinds of reviews I came to the conclusion that the ridgid saws had lots of problems with the fence as well as lots of problems with the table being flat. I also noticed that I found quite a few of them being sold private sale and that kinda helped me make my decision to stay away from ridgid. I have been very happy with my delta saw for the $600 I spent on it back then, I use it almost daily and haven't had any serious issues with it.

    • @ProjectsForAllReviews
      @ProjectsForAllReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is my identical experience with the Delta. I also seriously considered the Ridgid but the reported trunnion plates bending and locking the blade height lift kept me away. The saw in the vid had pretty heavy duty trunnion plate and I’m sure that’s no longer an issue. After about 4 years I don’t regret the Delta purchase in the slightest. Thanks for watching!

    Great video. Just had my Rigid table saw delivered today. I paid about $700 and have the fence tighten up not straight. I can manage that by measuring front and rear of fence. But the fence and slots on the saw. Now, I’m not sure if I should return it. A lot of information. Thank you.

    I bought one, not even a year, and one day I was raising the saw and it started binding. I would have to let it down and back up to get the saw to raise. Life-time warranty doesn't count because I took it to be repaired, 80-mile drive one-way and once back home the same issue within a week. thought I got a good deal because I got it brand new from Home Depot for $325. I took the loss because I will not be making 80-mile trips 4 times each time the problem happens. The Dewalt job-site saw was about $500 and I thought that cast iron table saw would be better by far. People I know that bought the DeWalt are still using their saw.

  • @LutherBuilds
    @LutherBuilds 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    My solution for making sure the fence locks down square or parallel is to push it forward on the front and then lock it down. I've had no other issues with mine. I did remove the flip out fence from under the main fence as I never use it. It definitely was a learning curve figuring out that I have to hold in the switch for it to start. I honestly think most people don't have a clue how to properly set up their tools when they first buy them, which would solve 99% of their problems if they did. At least most Diyers.

    I have the previous model 4510. I bought it used and I love it. After hyper adjusting the fence I push it forward tight in the track b4 locking it down. I don't expect absolute perfection with an aluminum fence. If and when I do I'll upgrade to steel. Maybe a little rubber mallet treatment would remove the bow. One advantage the 4510 has over the 4520 is mine easily converted to 240V with factory supplied instructions. Makes a big difference. No issues with the slots on mine either. Sounds like you got a bad one and got lucky with the Delta. When I looked the Delta's were blowing motors.

    I had high hopes for this rigid saw. There’s lots of them for sale on the used market locally and like the idea of stepping up a notch from a portable contractor saw. But if it’s got a bent fence that doesn’t lock straight and a crooked table I may as well stick with my Bosch 4000 that has the same issues.

      I did too Kevin! I was hoping we’d have a good competitor to the Delta saw but my Ridgid just had too many issues. I probably I'm watching the review on the Ridgid table saw 10-in and you're talking about the fence and I've noted even on the last video that you even did that. He checked the measurements from the bottom and work your way at the top with a tape measure before you. You know before you go so I noticed that on all the Craftsman I watch on TH-cam that they all check the fence from the top to the bottom where the tape measure. But please mean to believe that both fences are not good. That's all just what I've been seeing. Thanks for listening

    I have the R4512 10" saw... I spent about 6hrs one day getting the fence within .002 square at a 4ft rip. Being it was not bowed I assumed this was great. Hindsight is that I found out the aluminum fence does bow in different hot cold conditions. Currently mine is out about .020 in a 65 degree shop with 25% humidity.

      Hello! When I’m asked if I recommend this saw my answer sadly is no. I don’t care for the fence design and mine had the machining error in the cast top causing me to return it. Keep in mind this is just one guys experience. I’ve owned the Delta 36-725T2/ Ridgid R4560 for 4 years. It comes with a T style fence that is simple and accurate. I have had zero problems with it in that time. If I were you this Is what I would buy. I haven’t used an old Unisaw but if the fence is a Biesmeyer style fence I’d say it’s probably good to adapt to anything. The Delta 36-725T2 fence could be installed on almost any saw. These T style fences ride on square tubing front and angle iron rear. I hope what ever you pick shows up without any problems. If you have more questions make a new comment on the vid. The reply’s do not show on my notifications and sometime I miss them. Good luck and thanks for watching!

    I bought that saw and returned it right away. The top was not even close to flat. A flat edge would rock back and forth with a 1/8 inch gap on either side. When sliding anything flat over the table it would catch on the miter channel.

    Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I love the Delta 36-725T2 table saw as well. Loved your review on it, too. I have tried to read up online if it can be wired for 240 volts from the original 120 volts. I can't seem to find anything info on that. Any idea if that's a possibility? In my country we use 240 volts. And from studies, I see you get more power on the motor, when it's voltage is upgraded, which is a plus for me. I've been looking at the Laguna F1, as well, which can be upgraded to 240 volts, but it's way above my budget.
    If the Delta can be upgraded to 240 volts, it would be a no-brainer for me to pick that up.

If it solves the caster size, wing level, and machining QC issues, then maybe it is an option for serious hobbyist woodworkers

    I’ve had that saw for close to 10 years now I bet. They’ve made a updates since then it looks like. Looks like the fence still sucks after all these years. I don’t have the crooked T slots though. The biggest problem with those saws is they have two versions of the trunions. If it doesn’t have a Roman numeral 2 on it when you raise or lower the blade it will twist the blade.

    You have an older model rigid, where the new generation rigid is the exact tablesaw as your delta.
    And then you review the old generation rigid based on the flaws that are improved with the new rigid/delta.

    Are you aware that RIDGED Has a new contractor table saw ❔kinda looks like the Delta now I'm wondering if they corrected any of the flaws that you pointed out ❔did you take the other one back yet and maybe you can swap it for the New version and compare it to the old version... 🤷

      Yep returned this one a while back. The new Ridgid R4560 is identical to my Delta 36-725T2 as far as I can tell. I haven’t seen a Ridgid in person yet but I’ve read the manual to compare. Thanks for watching!

      I’m sorry to hear about your Buttercup. We have 4 cats and we’ve fostered many over the years. That’s Ben in most of my videos he was a rescue from Kentucky. Before Ben we had 2 brothers Lioni and Angelo. Angelo passed away suddenly on Christmas morning at 2 years old. We adopted Ben as a companion for Lioni. Bens easily the most mischievous cat we’ve ever had and I have countless hilarious pictures of him. Lioni is jet black and I have a good Halloween 1 min video of him I’ll post tomorrow or Monday. Thank you for watching!!

    Thanks for the video, new subscriber. I have a job site dewalt table saw I bought when I was rebuilding my house and hardly used it. The one thing I absolutely hate about it is the fence. Does anyone know if the fence on those saws are replaceable? It’s a DWE7491. Thanks.

    • @ProjectsForAllReviews
      @ProjectsForAllReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      They are relatively the same size. I highly recommend you buy the R4560. I know there’s been a few commenters that like and have had good luck with the R4520 but based only on the fence design the R4560 is better. Watch my Delta 36-725T2 vid. It is identical to the R4560 except for color. Good luck and thanks for watching!

    • @ProjectsForAllReviews
      @ProjectsForAllReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      This Ridgid R4520 is a different design than my Delta and parts are not interchangeable. The Delta 36-725T2 and Ridgid R4560 are clones and I expect will take the same throat plates. Ive never searched for a metal replacement for the Delta but those mdf plates have worked great for me for the last 4 years or so. Bought on Etsy from Calista Woodworks if I remember correctly. • @Ibaneddie76

    Don't understand how Rigid R and D let bowed miter slots pass inspection, that literally renders that saw useless! Delta is far superior, if you want a cheaper but good tool stick with Delta and ignore the rest! I bought the Powermatic PM1000 when it came out and it's been an amazing table saw!

    • @ProjectsForAllReviews
      @ProjectsForAllReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      I still can’t believe that miter slot problem. Didn’t expect to find that at all. Shame because while that Ridgid isn’t perfect it would have been a much more positive review. Thanks for watching!

  • @johndaniels9957
    @johndaniels9957 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't think you gave the saw fence a fair review. I have an aftermarket fence that looks almost identical to and works the same way as this fence. I bought my fence over 20 years ago and could not be happier with it. I chose my fence over the Biesemeyer fence because tests showed my fence to be more stable. By being held by one end only, the Biesemeyer fence can deflect to one side in use. I have not had that issue with my fence, nor have I had a problem with the fence remaining parallel with the blade when locking it into position.

    • @ProjectsForAllReviews
      @ProjectsForAllReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for adding to the discussion John! A fence deflection comparison sounds like a decent future video topic.

    You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice th-cam.com/users/postUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.
