I've watched you catch many a fish with barely a ripple of emotion. But when you saw the size of that big Blue Cat ... your face lit up and, sure enough, broke out with a smile. Sometimes it's worth getting up in the morning. John from Louisville.
When you choose to slow down when passing an anchored boat, you make a stranger a friend, even if just for a few moments. Also an opportunity to exchange a greeting and kind words. Same as letting an opposing car cross a single lane bridge first, when you got to each side at the same time.
Thank you for sharing with us your love for catfishing. Nice fish. Thank you for showing people how to land and release a fish that size for someone else to enjoy catching
I would get on the water before sunrise all alone & happy just to have the bass boys show up later ruining everything so I know what you're saying. I would be courteous when fishing flooded timber & get out of their way only to get stuck on the tree tops by their wake (small aluminum boat) making we wait for the next wake to get unstuck so the following week I quit being nice & stayed put making them go elsewhere. Good to see you happy with your boat.
These videos sure are great to watch. Being stuck at home with all these virus warnings is not fun. Watching Dave fish is relaxing & I"ve picked up some good tips . Thanks Dave !!
You had bright smile on your face when signed off!!! Great Job!!! Good old boy music to fish by!!!! Now where is your scale.... never leave home without the scale in the boat.... its like what is in your wallet....OR .... never leave home without your AM EX CO Card!!!
Sorry about all the late comments Dave, I just started watching Dave tube. I have alot to catch up on. I just caught my first Gollywhopper Blue in the Ohio river. I just started fishing it this year. Skipjack is surely catfish candy. I will never forget 9/6/2020. I bank fish, can't afford a boat. I learned how to catch that Blue from you. My wife calls me Raymond Dean the Catfish machine. Thanks for always being here Dave!! Gollywhopper on!!
Great video of 70 Bluecat Dave! You remind me of my oldest brother Clifton who has gone on to the great cat fish waters in Heaven!! Enjoy your fishen and God Bless!
WHEW!!! Dave I thought I was about to hear "DOWN GOES FRAZIER (CATFISH DAVE ) !!! Might need a deck hand from now on . That fight was more on the boat!!! GREAT CATCH!!!
AMEN we show respect cause we were raised to show other respect like we would want it's a Texas thang that more folks should apply to them selves as well as ther youngens
Grew up on the Allegheny river in NW PA...you slowed down amd went wide because its the right thing to do and of you didnt, there was a good chance you were gonna see the person at the grocery store the next day lol. We go down and fish the Potomac by DC now and these idiots will darn near swamp my boat, cant be bothered to show a little decency. Boggles my mind.
Nice one, but damn you can tell Dave is a bank fisherman. Here's a couple tips. #1. Double anchor where possible so ur fishing perpendicular to the current, but you can only do it when the current isn't too bad . That will give you WAY more fishing space AND the boat won't sway back and forth. It may take some extra time, but spend 10mins getting double anchored, it's well worth it when you can. #2.Slack off on the reel once you land the fish, then you won't have to fight the rod while unhooking the fish, you can set it aside until you get it unhooked and released. And like Ive been saying. This opens up a whole new world for ole CD here, expect to see a bunch more big fish and better numbers as he finds some spots with his boat.
Wow!!👍 Way to go! Now, that you have a boat, you can access more areas. Combined with your knowledge and experience, gonna be a helluva year!!👍 Looking forward to it! Tight lines Catfish Dave !
This is TN, we don’t go overboard with what big brother wants. He’s by himself and motivating folks to get outdoors and be healthy, heck our turkey season opened as planned.
Just a hint Dave, suggest you let some line out when you have the fish netted. Keep you from breaking off the tip of the pole. You sure can catch some big catfish and stripers.
Keep reeling them in that big im gonna say you are gonna need a bigger boat great video dave keep them coming and thank you for the knowledge you are sharing
Nice fish Dave! I enjoyed that video and I'm looking forward to more BIG'UNS landed using that new boat. Good luck to you in the search for a few flat heads this spring.
Hello Dave, this is one of your old fishing friends from years ago.. I see your still at it and doing well.. Best of luck to you and your channel.. your friend Ky from Seymour...
Nice fish, had some shoulders on it. That's why it's good to go after a variety of species, big blue won out. Put the boat toward the wakes, it'll make the ride more absorbing. Keep the film rolling!!!
Dave, I'm not sure you read all the comments but here goes. Got a question or two. 1) do you fish by the barometer? If so, what numbers do you like best? 2) where can I find the foley spoon like you use for catching skipjack? I've looked on line, cant find them anywhere. Any tips? One last question...... in my area, there are a couple rivers to fish. The eleven point and the current river, in southeast Mo. My issue is that the currents in both are super swift. I'm using the 2 and 3 oz. no roll stinkers but still wind up fishing directly down river of where I'm targeting. It often sweeps my bait out of the channel and into shallower water. Any ideas on how to avoid this scenario? Other than accessing the river "above" the target area. Just not possible from the bank. Too many private residential areas, cant obtain permission to access the right places. I'd appreciate anything you could share on better ways to catch the big-uns in my area.
I hate those two but we have 30'-50' ocean cruise liners on Lake of the Ozarks that about shake you fishing rig apart. Makes you want to zing a 5oz. Sinker in their boat.
the knowledge Dave has about cats, then give him a boat, you see the results. Keep up the great videos.

Great fish Dave. In my experience that fish was closer to triple digits than 70lbs. I’d say she was pushing 90. Amazing fish

Can't cry about a 70lb blue. Nice!
I'm in Texas where we all slow down to slow creep when going by someone anchored and fishing.
Not those a-holes there🤷
AMEN we show respect cause we were raised to show other respect like we would want it's a Texas thang that more folks should apply to them selves as well as ther youngens
Actually you can fly by me on plane. Don't slow down unless you idle by. Less wake going fast
@@swalker9482 very true but most people slow down thinking ok we're being nice but it makes more of a wake
