I'm new to your channel but I have to say that I enjoy every minute. You're not trying to be a Hollywood star. You're just a guy who enjoys catfishing and you take us along for the ride. You're just "Catfish Dave."
I was in Knoxville this last Friday for my Uncles funeral. After the services it started to rain,I looked at my brother and said Catfish Dave must be fishing. 😆😆

I agree. When Dave sits in the front of boat and I'm watching the rods, as if I'm actually fishing. I'm just glad I'm not watching it on the big screen because I would jump up and try to grab the rod.

Dave will you do an updated video on how to make those big bobbers and what all that you use to make them please?????? I’d definitely like to make some for catfishing this summer here in Iowa but not exactly sure how to set up the center of the bobber??? I would definitely like to see an update video on them plus it might help others to save money by them making there own big bobbers!!!! Thanks Dave!!! Buddy hooked a big flathead today fishing for walleye. After 10 minutes of just swimming around casually, it swam like a bullet into some timber and broke him off. He cried and I laughed, cuz it has happened to me. Now, I fish with heavier line. Thanks Dave. You are the best catfisherman I know. Wisconsin signing in.

Now I can catch my own bait with a cast net And I have learned to cast a bait caster.. In years past stink bait was all I knew. Now I use live or cut, Thanks for inspiring me to get out and learn I bought the 12' Rod and diawa reel.

I'm happy catching 8-to-10-pound channel cats, but I never tried to target the big boys like you do. I'd have to buy much beefier fishing gear for sure. I enjoy watching your videos very much and the size of the catfish you catch amazes me. Thanks for great videos !!!!!

My grandpa would catch catfish in the Carson River in Nevada. I thought they were big. They were newborns compared to the monsters you catch! My grandpa would feed them to his cats....(thus, catfish) :)

Very enjoyable vid Dave. Been awhile since my fishing obsession days. Appreciate the setup. Four rods going is a sure way to make sure if there biting and out there you aint missing them. Interesting take on weather and time of day. I guess my amatuer mind thinks catfish like warmer water, sunrise, and sunset, and generally bottom feeders. But it looks chilly where you are. Given flatheads are big along Missippi River and points south of the Mason Dixon, this doesnt mean that they cant be caught in colder weather and afternoon. Assuming it is warmest part of day around 1:00p.m. that makes sense to fish then. Love catching tree branches too. Watched Field and Stream this morning of a clip of an American freshwater river fishing in Guyana. He was going for "dragon fish," known as ? ..,begins with an A. He caught one 300lb! Fishing a branch of the Amazon. These are known to be the most difficult freshwater fish to catch in the world.

Thats a river to me, the creeks here are rocky limestone streams that usually have pockets of water but not all connected and flowing except when it rains

Get a Ugly Stik ,and a nice sized reel. Probably about $150 or so. You never know when big one is gonna hit. Even if you "target" 8-10 pounders.
