Days like this are what keep you fishing. I always hate it when some guy says " you should have been here yesterday ". Love your videos the thumbnail pic is hilarious, I know a lot of guys pull that stunt because you never see it in the video.
I met an old man who fed a bunch of feral cats around his trailer on the Muskingum River by McConnellsville. He would catch small carp and throw them up on the bank all day, then at night he tied ropes to trees and threw out the stinky fish and he caught a bunch of 40 and 50 pound catfish. He also told me one time when he was a young man ,he was in a 10 foot boat and something swum right past him that was longer than the boat. Only thing I can think of is a paddle fish or sturgeon, or alligator gar. I would guess gar . There are plenty of them in that river Or, maybe fish tales, but I don't think so.

My husband a fishing guide on Lake Washita or also spelled Quachita it means Good hunting and good fishing and Indian Sentence .He thought me everything he knew I am 80 now a widow go by my self people make to much noise in a John Boat and your fish has fled and I had to put them on the bank where their cars were period.....
I like watching you fish over all others, get you a small bait box and put 3 or 4 lures in it and store it out of way so you will always have bait lures. God bless and keep fishing!!

My favorite eating is a 20 pound flat head. Good white meat. I don't eat blues. I like deep fried smaller channel to. Gutted with head off. Deep fried. Skinned bigger flat heads filleted. Hang up live , cut tail off to bleed out. Then butcher.
I'd personally give you $100 if you could catch a 20+ pounder out of my hometown lake, I'd just like to know there's catfish in there. If anyone could it would be Catfish Dave.
This proves you dont need 8 rods on youre boat ;-) , you just must know the good spots like Dave ! he caught more cats than somme fishermen with 8 rods 😆 But in my opinion sommetimes youre exacturating a bit , just stay cool and patience and try to enjoy the fight
I'd put that channel cat in a skillet. And cross your overall straps in the back. (right back strap to left front cleet and vice versa) Will help keep them straps on on your shoulders. 😁
Living in North Carolina fishing behind a dam on Kerr Scott lake we were getting tons of crappie. Two guys came down that did spillway maintenance so we followed them and watched. One fellow who geared up to go down and his other workers were making fun of one of the guys because he was scared to work this dam. He claimed the cat fish were too big at this spillway and he would not go down. How big can these catfish get speaking to an absolute giant? Not sure what species or anything just remember the guy really being scared...
