Halo 3: Combat Evolved's MOST REQUESTED feature!

  • Ever since I moved over to the ODST engine most people were understandably a bit dissapointed when VISR mode replaced the flashlight, it brightened up a bunch of areas and ruined the atmosphere of a couple of areas. However a bunch of people prefered VISR over the flashlight, knowing this I started to work on a way to make both sides happy this is what I've come up with it!
    With the touch of d-pad/arrow key down you'll now be able to swap between the two at anytime! Is VISR a bit bright? D-pad down. Is the flashlight a bit too weak? D-pad down.

    You are doing God's work. Since 343 won't give us a faithful Halo CE worthy remake, this is what I always dreamed of. I love all the modern features of Halo 3 and the CE maps looks phenomenal converted in Halo 3's engine!!

    More options is always good, and I think both have their own uses. Only thing i'd say is maybe play around with changing the colors of VISR mode to something like blue, or maybe a more vibrant green to kind of go with the sniper's night vision toggle. Still pretty cool to have both available!

    Very cool.
    One thing about the visor I would change is making it blue rather than orange/yellow to separate it from the ODST visor.

      Eh, from a realism standpoint I think the software ui would be the same, even with more features and hardware power

    You even have the map at like the perfect amounts of darkness to justify using them. It's not too bright, and not too dark, this is the good shit right here Kiera.

    In conjuntion with the SRS99D-S2 AM Sniper Rifle, I'd personally rather use the either the *M7/S Caseless Submachine Gun* from _Halo 3: ODST,_ the *M6D[2] P.D.W.S. Magnum Pistol* from retail _Combat Evolved Anniversary_ or some custom-modded weapons, such as an *MA5C/S I.C.W.S. Silenced Assault Rifle* or a *BR55HB/S-SR Silenced Battle Rifle* using *_Halo 3's_** BR55HB-SR retail base weapon model.*

    Only thing I wish that is left to figure out is how to get the radar in ODST's engine (I know its not possible currently).

      It's always been this dark, I just didn't brighten the video up this time since most people were complaining about the brightness lol

    The NV could have a battery life, much like the flashlight in the og, my worry with NV is how it could break the atmosphere of the more flood oriented missions, since some of them relied on darkness and utilization of a flashlight to see.

    It's nice to have both options, but wouldn't it be better to have two separate key binds for them? I don't know if there are any restrictions for the modding tools, but I would prefer to turn on the flashlight directly, for instance, rather then turning VISR on first and then my flashlight (or viceversa). That would be more comfortable to use, in my opinion.

    is it possible to increase the level of blood to how it was in CE? Halo 3's splatters don't make sniping or melees as fun

    Did you keep the “one-shot” feature for the Hunters when using the Magnum?

      Not yet, haven't setup the damage tables for Hunters yet so the magnum and the sniper (as seen at the end) take a few shots

    343 should re-remake Combat Evolved but this time make it more like the Dead Space Remake.
    - Faithful art style
    - Gameplay improvements
    - Cut content from the original Bungie game
    - An expanded campaign that ties with First Strike and The Flood novels, Fireteam Raven, and two graphic novels
    - Built in Unreal Engine 5 and not the messy Slipspace Engine that is used in Infinite
    - Remade Multiplayer like with Halo 2: Anniversary
    - Blur Studio cutscenes
    - New enemies either one that is cut and seen in later games like Halo 2 and 2
    - Better character models
    - Don't ruin the soundtrack
    - New Levels to expand the campaign
    - ODST AIs
    - Firefight Mode
    HiddenXpedia did a video of what 343 should do if they remade CE again but in line with recent remakes like Dead Space and Resident Evil 4.

      This is my remaster of Combat Evolvded made with Halo 3/ODSTs engine hence the name "Halo 3: Combat Evolved"

      Because there was no music playing and I added it ontop of the video so it's not just silence
