- Reid and I capture footage of one of our most personal moments yet as we bring our baby into this world. Welcome to the world, Ellie! We are beyond grateful for all the love and support that we have received so far. This has been one heck of a journey for us for the past 2 years as we had to go through many rounds of IVF to even get pregnant. We are finally thrilled to be able to call ourselves, parents!

This video I had tears, smiles and laughter. When I saw your tear trickling from corner of your eye I teared up. Laughed when Reid made comments on food, poor guy was tired and exhausted. My understanding of your generation is that going into delivery you mothers to be,
Will go full mode on makeup eyelashes and all, I guess cause nowadays everything goes on their social media. So I have seen pictures of faces full on made up. Not like in my days lol lol lol. However you were just natural and didn’t need a stitch of makeup, your skin was glowing your hair was so in place and healthy, you looked beautiful. Congratulations on your beautiful healthy baby Ellie. Nowadays the hospital kicks you out the next day. In my days it was three days vaginal and one week c section, I guess the health insurance has really changed their policies. Terrific video as always thumbs up all the way up.

Congratulations to both of you and your new edition(only about a year later), always wondered about your IVF journey. Such a beautiful ending (the pregnancy) to a even more beautiful and awesome start. You will cherish those memories of near past(1st year of her life and more). I wrote to you about my wife and our IVF journey with our daughter who just turned 21yrs old, and in her 3rd yr of college at University of Santa Barbara, I saw one of your other videos on parenting advise “Bring them up in the way they should go”, I would say, learned that from the one above, Blessed we are to have our daughter Melehomai. and for Ellie, may she be a light of Blessing in everything she does…. You got this Cari! Breastfeeding is hard and it is a learning process don’t give up. If I can share an advise. Just have her latch every time she cried because that’s how the milk will come in faster. And make sure to drink plenty of water. Congratulations again guys she’s so beautiful 😍

I remember when our son was 3 weeks old, and we took him to the market with us, to buy formula…..I couldn’t breastfeed. We thought that we’d timed it perfectly. Boy were we wrong! He started screaming, and wouldn’t stop. We felt like the worlds worst parents! Right at that point, this man walked by us, shook his head, and said ‘only 18 more years to go.’ We felt defeated. LOL. Those years literally flew by. Now our son is 25 and is in law school. I so wish I could have that screaming little baby back again. I miss those years! Enjoy every single moment, every single milestone, every single everything with baby Ellie! She’s part of an amazing family! Take care!

Congratulations!!!! Their rooms are small. I was kinda lucky. I got moved to Med/Surg wing in the diamond head tower. I had a c-section and my daughter was in the nicu downstairs from it. Those rooms in med/surg were just as big as l & d rooms. Kapiolani is a great place to have kids.
That's awesome that you had a more comfortable room! Besides the room sizes though, loved all the nurses that assisted us!
When I was in L & D, my friend was my nurse. I asked if she could be my nurse when she was on duty. Talk about getting up close and personal. They are awesome.

Yay, congratulations to you both! She's beautiful. Don't give up on breastfeeding sometimes they don't latch well up to a month or more. Just keep pumping. She will eventually get the hang of latching on.
