    Got one, absolute rubbish, unreliable with hopeless customer service, seriously, don't waste your money.

    I am ordering one in 5/2024 w discount for 248US w external mic kit, value is great and fits my needs. Very interested to hear feedback on this camera in 2024 after they have released a number of firmwares to improve audio

      Hi . I don’t use it as I now have dash cameras on the bike . Great system if you want a dash cam and not a bike permanent fit. So I can’t comment on the new software . Hopefully they have sorted it out as the gain was too sensitive when I used it.

    I bought this thing based on your review. Although video quality is A+ but audio is total crap (as you said). The external mic isn't available here (Netherlands).
    There is one thing missing from your review and that's how to get the video out of the device. That is a real pain, even with the latest firmware.
    TLDR: get a SD card reader if your laptop doesn't have one integrated. Relying on the build in features is really frustrating.
    Furthermore, the connection with the allen screws is gone (to fit it properly to your helmet). You need to attach it to your helmet using just the sticky thingy, try it and if it isn't right, pull it of and try again.
    All in all, not a great product to be honest.
    For anyone reading this looking for an audio solution. I use a workaround. I put my phone under the buddy seat, let it record and use that later in combination with the footage.
    This is what I ended up with: th-cam.com/video/t64p3PSSNnE/w-d-xo.html

      Plug in a usb C cable and into your laptop, it treats it like a usb drive.

    REALLY nice job on the review, mate! You got a Like and a Sub from me. Thanks for the kind comment on our "Americanized" review of this product over on our channel: th-cam.com/video/n22ov5k38BA/w-d-xo.html. Although we spent more time analyzing the video quality and comparing it to the likes of GoPro and Sena, I really appreciate that you spent more time analyzing the audio features!!!

    Great vid thanks. Does the SD card write over itself once full or do you have to wipe it clean to keep filming, or alternatively replace the card?

    • @gsd32i
      @gsd32i  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi David . You can leave it in “loop” mode like most dash cams have where it will write over itself once full or you can de select that option and it won’t .

    I think I'd put the helmet mount the other way, so that the camera is being pushed back in to the mount when riding. I haven't yet used the new mount to connect to my helmet. Maybe over the weekend, after my ride tomorrow. I do like the look of the new mount though.
    The sound really is terrible. I hope they can fix that in a software/firmware update. Maybe then I'd consider that external mic pack.
    I had my powerbank disconnect before, and there was no vibration notification that the camera turned off, unlike when you power the unit off. Just something to be aware of.

  • @Northernlanes
    @Northernlanes ปีที่แล้ว

    picture quality reasonable, sound poor, better if it was black and a bit smaller, and I'd prefer it fitted on the left hand side of the helmet so you don't have to use your throttle hand to switch on and off

    • @gsd32i
      @gsd32i  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. INNOVV are addressing the sound issue . It’s a pretty good , easy to use camera with good video quality . Certainly good enough to throw onto your big tv ! The camera is really light and you don’t notice it on the helmet . You could mount it on the left side then just flip video over on post edit . I’m sure you you also use the camera the right way up on the left side just the cut out for the WiFi light would be on the bottom ie now for the internal mic and the WiFi light would not be visible . Not a big issue …. I’ll check when at home again .

    INNOVV makes some nice stuff. I like the H5, its just too bulky for a carbon helmet I own. Not even bringing up the weight addition. However, I like the new radar kit they came up with. Good video, boss.

    • @gsd32i
      @gsd32i  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, its a shame they haven't included a better sensor as the stabilisation isn't up to other cameras on the market and the audio on mine wasn't brilliant.

    I've been following your channel for some time and thoroughly enjoy the content! I am currently thinking of changing to a 1250GS or a 1250R so your videos have been very informative. I have used multiple GoPros for stuff myself (in aircraft) with a dedicated lead for audio and have yet to do any audio on motorcycles. I was initially very excited by this Innov camera but the audio does seem to be quite poor. I wait to see if you discover a work around! Once again, great channel, keep it up! :-)

    • @gsd32i
      @gsd32i  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks . I am hoping that the audio is solvable . INNOVV support has been very good and they no doubt will come back to me with a fix, it may be something very simple !. It’s a great little camera especially for the price. Not everyone can afford some of those GoPros , I’m on an 8 . Sadly not able to put it in my 321 !

      @@gsd32i Well, I've really done it now! Ordered a 1250GS TE Triple Black, pretty much the same spec as yours but with the standard black alloy wheels. I'm very excited! Once again have been watching through your stuff and appear to have inadvertently spent a few quid at Nippy Norman's. Just trying to decide which route to go with my Zumo XT now. I may use your solution or the other 3D printed gadget that retains the BMW mount. Probably have a better idea once I physically have the bike. (I'm not looking forward to the Headlight Protector install, I have the Aux lights too) Once again, very helpful content, many thanks :-)
