Thanks dude, I had my toolboxes sent across the continent and someone caring had put these locks on for me. Alas they didn’t tell me the numbers. After watching your video it took all of two minutes. Now I can repair the aircraft!
Wow, it worked! I just bought this lock at Bass Outdoors and got home and was setting up my combination when my hand slipped. I didn't know where the numbers were but when I slipped during the process, I was stuck with the cable unlocked with no way to know how to find out where the dial stopped during my set up. Anyway, I just pressed the cable that I had opened applying pressure and just like how you experienced the way the dial got hard to turn, the same method worked in my circumstance. I repeated your technique until I reached the combination that I had set by slipped up. So, the lock is. Ow functional thanks to you. Wow! I really appreciate your video.
If your lock is locked with the chain not secured in the lock, then this method will still work but you'll probably need an extra set of hands to hold the lock and a small, sturdy tool to insert into the hole and apply the necessary sideways pressure. (Note: Downward pressure does not work! It must be sideways.) We used a paperclip that was unfolded and then twisted for strength. It was barely strong enough but the best I could come up with without a trip to the hardware store. Also, he describes the wheels as not moving. In my experience, the wheels move and don't lock up completely, but it does become more difficult. Hope this helps. Thanks for the video; this helped a lot!
I literally watched way too many videos all day and got to know every technicality with the real and false gates and everything and got my fingers sore but still couldn't open my lock. Your way of checking is brilliant! Worked in a few minutes! Thank you so much! There really is a thing as too much information!!
Awesome! Worked like a charm! First, I was lucky to unlock the lock with brute force by trying the combinations... Then I shifted the wheels without noting the combination and ended up with an unlocked but still unusable lock. This video and particularly Michael DeLong comment were the saviors. It took me less than 5 minutes to open it with a confidence instead of frustration, and without extra pair of hands. I've put a sharp end of a nail file into the reset button, resting the blunt end on the chest. I used my left hand to hold a Phillips screwdriver tool of my mini-Swiss knife into the lock hole, pressing sideways, and my right hand to rotate the wheels. Big thanks!
While I am appreciative and will watch the entire video to learn this technique, I understand why my kids get so frustrated when I dont just get to the point...
Just got 4 of these on Amazon and somehow botched entering a new combo and couldn't reinstall the cable I was able to find the combo using your method! I was surprised. Thanks a bunch guys, peace and blessings.
found one of these on the ground and followed the tutorial, and what are the chances but the combo on mine was also 420 i also ended up picking the tsa keyway and it was disturbingly easy
Thank you dude! This worked for me. I have the same type lock in every way except I have 4 numbers instead of 3. I was able to get the first two numbers, then I held a pen down on the reset button while spinning the last two numbers from 00 to 99. Surely enough, from there the reset button popped in and it was unlocked! I've been fiddling with this for hours today, and after watching your video I solved it in five minutes. So again thank you so much (:
This didn't work for me on the same lock (same manufacturer, same model, and a TSA007 keyway). It could have been that my lock simply had a tighter tolerance. What did work was pressing in on the reset button with a small screwdriver as I turned each wheel. There was a very positive click when I reached the right number. I opened the lock with this method within 2-3 minutes. I would also note that I tried the method of looking between the wheels for a notch. I even used a USB microscope and there were simply no notches. It's good to have multiple methods for these locks as some of the techniques don't work on some of the locks.
Thank you so much! This alternate method worked for me, too! I pressed on the screwdriver with my knee, so I had both hands free to turn the number dials.
Came here to say that the method in this comment helped me as well! Forgot the code that was set months ago but never used the lock. Now I'll write up the code for sure.
If there‘s a small gap between the combination wheels and the lock body you can also just look for the notch (gate)... I have the same Master Lock padlock and I can simply see the right combination lol. Or you use a thin piece of metal to feel where the notch is.
Holy shit this finally worked. I could not get into my lock with the method of the video and several other methods. I figured my lock was just broken. The thing is, I remember what I set the lock to. These numbers are not it. Well 2 out of 3 are right but the last one somehow became a 2 when I distinctly remember setting it as an 8. You've just saved me thank god
OMFG AT FIRST I DONT WANNA BELIEVE ON THIS COZ THERE IS NO WAY I WILL UNLOCKED THESE KIND OF LOCKS. Mine is different same locks but mine is opened and it cant be locked coz of the loss code. But i tried this method and i was shocked coz it really worked on it like this is Legit: thanks bro
My TSA CABLE lock stuck /stays unlocked open. I wanted to change my combination and obviously my fault. I remember all the previous combinations but still doesn't want to react. Stays unlocked. Any advice ot just get rid of it?
Master Lock 4696D (4 digit TSA approved lock) is unlocked but forgot combo in order to relock it. Would there be a different approach when unlocked vs. locked?
My 007 lock isn’t locked, in other words the shackle is not in the receptacle, but I don’t remember the combination so I can’t use your technique and I can’t figure out how to reset it. Can you help please?
Pretty sure my lock is just broken. I remember what I set the code to and tried that but it just would not open. Tried each with the numbers around it and nothing. Then tried this and still just nothing. I'm fairly sure I did this method right, it feels just about right, but the cable just will not budge
This didn't work for me, but I found a method that does. You just need to use a magnifying glass app on your phone with the light on and peer into the cracks at the column above each number, zoomed in, and turn it until you see two vertical grooves/lines on either side of a number; then repeat for each dial.
This shit worked idk how but the shit worked lmao thanks it's been about 4ish years of on and off trying but I finally can forget my password again lmao thanks
Only video that worked for me. The notches method didn't. looking at it after I got in open the notches line up inside the lock at a right angle to the dots, not under the dots.
consider it smashed
Thanks dude, I had my toolboxes sent across the continent and someone caring had put these locks on for me. Alas they didn’t tell me the numbers. After watching your video it took all of two minutes. Now I can repair the aircraft!
Using your method, it took me one minute to open the lock. Thank you so much.
Thank you so very much. I just followed your instructions and lo and behold, it opened up.
Thank you.

I unlocked my forgotten combination number just 5 seconds. Your video helped so much. Thank Man

This worked for a cheapo walmart Protege lock I found. I laughed hysterically when the lock popped. You've earned yourself a like, sir.

I have the same one, none of the wheels bind up even when applying a ridiculous amount of force
While I am appreciative and will watch the entire video to learn this technique, I understand why my kids get so frustrated when I dont just get to the point...
Kids? Naw we just dont like 10 min long video for a 2 min deal..
Thank you!! I had already spent one hour trying various other methods ;) easy solution!
Thanks. I spent an hour trying to get back in my toiletry case. This helped more than other videos.
You’re the MVP Only video I’ve seen that worked
I was about to toss my current lock and buy a new one but this actually worked omg thank you!!!
This actually helped me unlock a different lock. Thanks.
Just got 4 of these on Amazon and somehow botched entering a new combo and couldn't reinstall the cable I was able to find the combo using your method! I was surprised. Thanks a bunch guys, peace and blessings.
Thanks so much. Followed your instructions for a Korjo TSA007 lock for travel luggage and it worked! Thanks
Worked perfectly... Watch the video patiently guys..Bravo😊😊😊
This just worked for me on a tiny red hermex lock. Thanks!
Thank you SO MUCH! In minutes I solved a problem of years 😂
Great information. I was about to toss my TSA007 lock, since i forgot my combination. Did what you said, and now I have a usable lock once again.
found one of these on the ground and followed the tutorial, and what are the chances but the combo on mine was also 420
i also ended up picking the tsa keyway and it was disturbingly easy
THANKS!
Not the same lock, but the mechanism worked the same way! Fantastic💪🏼😁
I watched this and got mine open in less then 45 seconds thank you lol
Brilliant...thank you! Tooke a total of 10 seconds!

I have a bergen with this kind of lock on the zip, forgot the combination! I will surely try your method. Thanks!

For this lock. Video starts at 3:54
It worked!!!!!!! OMG!!!! 😍😍😍😍
I have the opposite where the lock is open and I can't lock it. Will the same technique work for that?

It worked ... thank you xx
Omg it worked thats so clutch thank you!!!
can you manage to make this technique work if i don’t know the lock combination while it’s open? (but i can’t lock it back in)
Yay!!! Just worked!!!
It works ,thanks!!!
If there‘s a small gap between the combination wheels and the lock body you can also just look for the notch (gate)...
I have the same Master Lock padlock and I can simply see the right combination lol.
Or you use a thin piece of metal to feel where the notch is.
Your advice worked immediately thanks buddy!
Why does this not have more likes...lockpickinglawyer you should be ashamed
I see these white notches or so I think they are notches but no matter what number I put they don’t change
Holy shit this finally worked. I could not get into my lock with the method of the video and several other methods. I figured my lock was just broken. The thing is, I remember what I set the lock to. Master Lock 4696D (4 digit TSA approved lock) is unlocked but forgot combo in order to relock it. Would there be a different approach when unlocked vs. locked?
Thanks. Now I'm just as smart as the airport employees who steal from luggage.
I can’t do it I feel dumb
What if the lock is unlocked but I don't know what the combo is?
My 007 lock isn’t locked, in other words the shackle is not in the receptacle, but I don’t remember the combination so I can’t use your technique and I can’t figure out how to reset it. Can you help please?
See my recent comment. I had the same problem and got it to work with an extra set of hands and a small tool I fashioned out of a paperclip.
Man, you just saved me $7
Thenk you. Its working 💪

Thank you!

In 7 minutes video it’s already past 3:21 minutes and you still haven’t got to the point 🤦🏼♀️

Video starts at 4:20.

Please someone help I have the combination but dosen't works
Thanks, I do it for TSA002

This lock is flawed. I bought 4 and set them all with the combination and 1 out of the 4 failed to open.
