    I love how you worded the whole thing about history. My dad grew up in Chicago and had friendships with guys like Accardo, and Giancana. He never supported that life nor was a part of it. And from the stories he told me, I can't either. But I still take pride knowing he got to experience such a big part of history up close.

      My aunt Charlotte whose already passed used matre d at a place named Greco's, basically like vesuvios in the sopranos. She said it was mob and celebrities. She specifically named rifleman chuck Connors, elke Sommer and Walter Payton. But accardo, joey the clown Lombardo and others. She said she was always treated very well by the mob guys.

      @Robert Mielke That's awesome. And yeah. The mob guys were decent people if you were good to them. My dad taught Accardos grandkids how to drive, and in return Tony paid for my parents wedding reception (at one of his restaurants of course.) And my brother would deliver the paper to Joey the Clown and Joey would buy him and his friends ice cream.

    I met Michael back in August in Milton Keynes when he came to the UK on his tour last year, what a lovely guy really down to earth he made time for everybody big respect for him, always producing first class articulate content such fascinating stories put together brilliantly what an interesting life. Having SiciIian roots on my Mother's side of the family I've always held an interst like many, into the mob life because it's such a different contrast of world to what most people know, it's great to hear Michael's stories first hand which he expresses so well. I have to say Michael looks absolutely fantastic for a 71 year old gentleman. I hope to see him come back to the UK at some point he's a great guy, very humble it was such pleasure to meet him at the event, being in his company having been following Michael for quite some time now was fantastic, great to finally see the 1M subs, congratulations Michael if you read this on your milestone keep doing what your doing 👌 🥂

    Yes it is unbelievable Al Capone still lives on in the news. This guy really knew how to build public opinion for him and perhaps he had more humanitarian character about him than we really know. A good example that is the soup kitchensthat he opened up to help the unfortunate people during the great depression. A floating speakeasy? Wow miracles never cease. You only cancel things with truth. You show it for what it is and let then truth be known.

    My father born on 1901 in St. Louis, told me some of went on in those days. He was Irish born and raised in the Kerry Patch which was the Irish part of town. He steered clear of becoming part of the many Irish Gangs in the city. Everybody did what they had to do to live. He did say he sold in The Numbers Game for a time, but not for who. He told me during prohibition, he delivered groceries and people ordered 100 bags of sugar for making homemade alcohol, and many times they wanted him to carry it up flights of stairs, but he said " No I deliver to the door, I'm leaving it right here, you better come and get it quick before the wrong person see's it ". He said once he was standing on the sidewalk smoking a cigarette, a car flew down the street and shot the man that was standing next to him. My Mother told me when I was older about the Red-light District, she wanted to see it, she ducked down low, as my father drove by. She said there were naked women hanging out of the windows etc. and the police just walked by. These are just some of the stories I heard, and your right it's history good or bad and people need to know so we don't repeat the Bad and realize just how good we have it today ! God Bless 🥰

If there's something that can be said about the mafia it's that they were always being entrepreneurs. This man we all love to watch his videos and hear his stories now Mr. Franzese is truly one of a kinda and should be made the example of how someone can go from the life he did too the life he has now and does so much good for people out of the kindness of his own heart. Thank you so much for calling out cancel culture man, we need people like you with the audience you have to help neutralize whoever these people are that make that culture’s decisions. I wish we knew who “they” were who actually make the cancellations happen and cancel them by OUR SIDE. We only know the society of cancel culture but there are specific people who handle their bidding and we need them gone.

    The reason I started being fascinated by the mob is because my grandma told me we had a relative that worked "as a hitman" for Capone, but "we don't talk about that" she said. So after some prodding, it turns out he wasn't an assassin, but he was a prize fighter, with huge hands, who would collect debts for Capone and if they didn't pay he beat them up. Her definition of hitman was a little off. 😂

    Watching your videos about how men should be has made me realize just how much the men in my life have failed to protect me.
    I wish I could tell you everything, but most of the things I should have been protected from are too personal to discuss in a TH-cam comment section.
    The bad things that happened have really taken a toll on me, so I’m in counseling. I told my counselor about you and how you helped me. I call you “Mr. Mike” in sessions. I hope that’s okay.

    Michael, I don’t know if you’ve ever seen this, but a few years ago, the TH-cam channel “Epic Rap Battles of History” did a video where Al Capone has a rap battle with the infamous pirate Blackbeard. I think it’s kind of an interesting idea. How exactly do mobsters compare to pirates? That could be a cool video.

    • @EBThisThat
      @EBThisThat ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the comparison is apt, honestly. I am obsessed with both. Pirates were pretty nefarious and well-learned in their trade. Some pass them off as being barbaric, which, yes, they were to a point, but they had to understand their heading, the weather, how long they could preserve their food in salt and embedding their reign in fear and terror. Blackbeard was ruthless, and a cutthroat. His name alone struck panic in all that heard it. Reputation preceeded everything, and even nowadays, it's still the same sort of tactic, even with modern day pirates.

    • @БоднарРостислав
      @БоднарРостислав ปีที่แล้ว

      Chicago Outfit were not a proper family at the time, they may have not even conducted official ceremonies until years later. Chicago was a city of major gangs, and The Outfit became the most powerful. Chicago got a seat at the commission table because of its major influence(one of the biggest bootlegging operations at the time). Lucky needed Chicago on his side to assure, that everybody in power agrees with him, and that this thing, being the Commission, is gonna last. And probably had to jump through hoops to get Al on board. The time was much different as well. A lot of uncertainty, bombings, bosses were killed left and right. They called it "the roaring twenties" for a reason. And even then, Chicago was considered to be "nuts".
      Also, at the time, italians from different regions of Italy didn't necessarily get along. Cosa Nostra was not a big term either, still the Black Hand times, in the 20s, and it was mostly sicilian, some calabrese were there. Al Capone, being a neapolitan all around, might have been actually offended, if you counted him in with all of those. Just like Naples at the time of his life, with neapolitan Camorra, Chicago considered itself to be a different kingdom. Nobody could tell him what to do, Commission or not.
