I used to be a minister of music at an Assembly of God church about 25 years ago, before I started playing engagements and clubs. I love the segments on the entertainment industry and the mob! My neighbor claimed to have hooked up in order to get better gigs when he was young. I had planned on talking to him some more, but unfortunately he passed away a couple weeks ago😢

Great video I was always interested in what celebrities who had a connection with the Mob, in some form or another and the stories behind them. We always hear of all the bad things with the Mob and the perception that they have left behind over the years. I read that Martin was respected by the Mob . . . but kept his distance. He was a guy who kept his own counsel and was not someone who defined himself by what others did or thought. James Stewart tried to get Hoover's FBI to do something to limit Mob involvement in the motion picture unions (and was very disturbed by Hoover's inaction).
In Jerry Lewis' autobiography he talks about calling Tony Accardo in Chicago to ask for his help in getting a mob guy from NY off his back of whom was threatening him.
